Adam smiles when Dustyn walks back in.

"I think that Shay is scared of me babe, he seems really frighteg right now, that tea looks lovely babe"

Adam then stands and holds Kayden who is still falling asleep.

Alec is in the kitchen, cooking him and Honor lunch. Over the past few days, he had made most of their meals, trying to branch out and cook less Italian. Sadly, most of it had not been that great, and today he had settled on making them grilled cheeses and tomato soup. It was getting a little chilly in LA anyway. It was about time that the winter-y lunches started coming out. As he makes the final sandwich and slides it onto his plate, he decides that Honor has the right idea, and that they should eat outside today. He picks up both the plates, balancing a bowl of soup on both of them, and heads outside. He stops for a moment when he notices that Honor is smoking. He didn't realize that she had picked that back up again. "Are you alright?" He immediately asks. She had been so adamant about quitting. He was wondering what had caused this relapse.

Alec gives Honor a confused look. "I asked if you were alright," he repeats, walking towards her and setting down the food on his outdoor table. "What's up? I thought you gave up smoking?"

Alec is silent for a moment, trying to process what's with this new Honor. He didn't think of her as the type to give up on anything, especially herself. He shakes his head and shrugs. "I just thought it would be a good time for soup. You don't have to eat it if you don't want to," he says back simply, sitting down, less hungry than he was before.

Alec gives her a small smile. "Yeah, no problem," he says back, picking up one of the sandwiches and taking a bite out of it. He exhales softly, and then looks back at Honor. "Do you want to tell me what's up, or am I just going to have to live without knowing?"

"What? That's great that you got a job offer," Alec says back, still confused as to why Honor is being so melancholy. "I'm sure I can get over it. Who is it?"

Alec's face flashed a hurt look for a moment. That was the last name he wanted to hear. He wasn't hurt over the fact that Honor wanted to take a job that Kai was in charge of. That didn't bother him at all; he always wanted to be supportive of Honor's career, no matter what. It was the fact that she had talked to Kai recently and had waited until now to tell him that hurt him so much. "Okay," he said back after a couple a seconds of silence to collect his thoughts. "How long are these jobs normally? Like, a week? That's not bad. I can suck it up for that long..."

Alec smirks and shakes his head. "What do you want me to do, Honor? Do you want me to go beat him up? Do you want me to tell you that you can't do this job? I'm trying to give you what you want, and somehow I'm constantly doing it wrong." He gives her a small, smug smile. "Do you want to know what I really think? I think that you're consistently comparing me to Kai. And I think that every time you do, somehow I'm coming up short. I think that there has to be a reason why you're even considering this job, and I don't think it has anything to do with the pay or the location. But I also think that - and I truly feel this way, Honor - if you spend enough time with Kai, you're going to figure out that he's not as great as how you've built him up in your head. And then maybe you'll see that I'm not as bad of a boyfriend as you try to make me out to be. But until then, why don't you just tell me how I can be more like Kai Rollins for you, okay?"

Alec follows Honor inside the house. He wasn't done with this conversation. His voice is obviously full of frustration and a little anger."What am I supposed to think, Honor? Tell me. Because lately I've been having a damn hard time figuring you out." He makes his way in front of her, stopping her from walking away from him. "Tell me what this is about. What this sudden want to be around Kai Rollins is. Because I don't understand and I want to so badly. You went from hating him, to fooling around with him, back to hating him, and now you want to work with him." He sighs and shakes his head, his voice much more calm now. "Tell me what you want me to do, Honor. Because I'm trying, but I feel like I'm swimming against the current."

Alec is silent for a moment, looking down at their hands together. He trusted Honor, he didn't know that he had any reason not to. But the idea of Honor and Kai being around each other for such a long time... That just wasn't something he could be okay with. And it was bound to ruin their relationship if he lied to her now and told her that he would be okay with it. He takes a big sigh and looks up at her. "I don't want you to take this job, Honor. I'm sorry, but I just can't act like I'm okay with it. You're amazing and beautiful. Other jobs will come. And I'm sure they'll all be better than anything Kai has to offer you."
