Alec nods, relieved that Honor wouldn't be taking the job, but frustrated at himself for being the asshole who said she couldn't. He doesn't say anything for a moment, simply moving around her and going back outside to grab the food that they had left out there. When he comes back in, he hesitates before softly saying, "Thank you." He wasn't sure what else he could say. He had gotten his way, of course. She wasn't going to take the job. He had no right to be upset. But he still felt like something wasn't right. He wasn't going to push it or ask any more questions about Honor and Kai, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to wonder about them. He eyes Honor, never looking away from her, wondering if she would ever just admit if something had happened.

Alec watches her walk to the couch and sit down. He looks away and goes into the kitchen, dumping all of the food into the trash. He wasn't hungry anymore, and Honor had already made it clear that she wasn't going to eat anymore. As he pours the untouched soup down the drain, he smirks a bit at the fact that something nice he tried to do for Honor went unappreciated and was overshadowed by drama with Kai Rollins again. It seemed to be an ongoing theme in their relationship. After cleaning out the bowl and the dishes, he goes into the living room with Honor, and sits down in the chair across the room from the couch. "What's on tonight?" He asks, glancing at the TV, trying to act like there wasn't obvious tension between them.

"Yeah, thanks," Alec says back as he snags the remote from her and starts to flip through the channels. He has no idea what he wants to watch, or really any idea of what's on, so he stops on a reality show that he vaguely remembers Honor watching before and then sets the remote down. A small piece offering.

Alec shrugs and gives Honor a small smile. "Don't apologize. It's... nothing," he says back, shaking his head. He gets up from the chair and moves over to the couch that Honor is sitting on, putting his arm around her. He could live with Honor having secrets from him, but he couldn't live with tension between them. This was much better.

"Hey, hey..." Alec says softly, pulling Honor closer to him. "Don't cry or anything like that, okay? You're not trouble or a pain. And if you are, I love you even more for it." He gives her a small smile. "I love you. I don't want you to ever change or stop being who you are."

Alec laughs a little and gives Honor a small one-armed hug with the arm that was around her. "Pet, if you can deal with me, then I can definitely and happily deal with you." He smiles, feeling for the first time like he and Honor were going to be fine together. "Promise you're not going to run off with some younger guy?"

Alec gives her a small smile and kisses her back. "I love you, too, Honor," he says softly. Although it shouldn't, it did bother him a little bit that she didn't outwardly promise him that she wasn't going to leave him. Not that he really thought she ever would, but it would have been nice to have reassurance of that fact. He laughs a little, and then shrugs. "It probably wasn't that great of food anyway. I should really just go back to the lenguini and stop with all this fancy stuff, like grilled cheese and tomato soup." He winks and grins.

Alec smiles, knowing that Honor really meant it this time. He shrugs. "Hey, I'd leave myself for somebody richer than me. I get it." He winks and shakes his head. "Yeah, I'm kind of hungry, too. Let's go out tonight. This whole house is much too enclosing." He gives her shoulders one last good squeeze before standing up from the couch and going to the closet to get their coats. "What do you think? Somewhere nice, or somewhere quick?"

Alec smirks. "Trading in the fancy lights and decor for florescent lighting and badly recorded Christmas songs playing over the intercom. Sounds good to me." He hands her her coat and then grabs his keys off the counter next to him. "Where to? I don't know a lot of places like what I just described." He laughs.

erica happily hums as she waits for her cup of steamy coffee. she is bundled up in a puffy hello kitty jacket,complete with ears on the hood. it being so over sized,just emphasizes how short she is.

"hazelnut with whipped cream." the man behind the counter says, erica nods her thanks and puts a twenty down. "thanks!" she says brightly and sits on one of the little stools.
