Adam giggles.

"im only joking Sonyae, I think your cool and if I was straight I would you know bang you, but sadly I'm not, so shall I bring over our drinks?"

Adam smiles.

Adam gets up and gets the drinks, when he comes back he hands Sonyae her drink

"there you go, one pina colada for Sonyae"

Carmen and Evangeline steadily walk up to Matt Collin's house, standing side by side. Evangeline's face is flush and wide-eyed, nervous about any sort of party atmosphere, while Carmen is the complete opposite - excited and upbeat, grabbing Evangeline's hand and dragging her along.

"Gelly, come on..." Carmen whines as Evangeline drags her feet, looking up at the house as the walk ever nearer to it.

"I don't even know these people, Carmen."

"Neither does Carmen! That's going to be the fun of it!"

As they walk up to the porch, Carmen enthusiastically waves to everybody that she sees while Evangeline stands behind her, hiding her embarrassed face from anybody who could possibly see her.

Carmen immediately takes Matt's hand, shaking it as enthusiastically as her waves. "Carmen Grant," she introduces herself. "And this is Evangeline Wolfe. And she would love a drink, because she needs to get the stick out of her ass that's making her so nervous."

Evangeline blushes even harder, but steps out of Carmen's shadow, keeping her head down and giving a meek wave. "I..." She starts, taking a breath and swallowing, trying to push her nervousness out. "I believe your party is a little bit less of a testament to idealism and social upheaval than Jay Gatsby's were. Your's seems a bit more to... excess and alcohol."

"You're so fucking awkward, Gelly. This is why nobody wants you at their parties."

Evangeline smiles as Matt leads them inside, happy to have a guide around the party, especially one that is the metaphorical Jay Gatsby of this shindig. "Oh, I'm not nervous," she lies as they step inside and she looks around. "I just don't know anybody here." Carmen follows behind the two, looking around with the frenzied head turning of a bird, excited by all the people in the party.

Carmen turns to Clara when she's introduced, waving. "Hi! You look like somebody who knows their way around here. While Matt is getting us drinks, why don't you show us where other fun substances are." She smiles brightly while Evangeline looks around, waiting for Matt, who she was just starting to feel comfortable with.

Carmen's grin grows more and more as she listens to Clara rant. She loved people who were just as flighty as she was. They were ten times more likely to have a good time if they were both open to idea of just talking endlessly about nothing for hours - Carmen's favorite past time. She takes the joint from Clara and takes a long drag, then hands it to Evangeline, who immediately puts it down, not touching it again. "You're alright. Rant on. Carmen doesn't mind," Carmen tells her with a giggle.

"I've been listening to Brandon Caulfield's new album. It's pretty great," Evangeline perks up, hearing a reason to take part in the conversation.

"Yeah, and he's pretty damn attractive, too."

Carmen laughs, throwing her head back. "Carmen is the same way. Everybody thinks that Carmen only likes cutesy music, but Carmen used to date the drummer of a death metal band. Carmen knows what the fucks up." She giggles and takes the joint from the long haired girl without looking, being rude without realizing it.

Evangeline shrinks back, realizing that she's lost her place in the conversation the moment Killswitch Engage was brought up. She didn't know anything about music exactly like that. She looks up at Matt when he comes back, taking her drink from him. "She's shown us a little bit," she answers, taking a sip of her drink and grimacing a bit. No matter how hard she tried - and she tried very hard - she never got used to the taste of alcohol. "I'm from Massachusetts. Boston."

"Carmen is from Port Laoise. In Ireland." Carmen lights a cigarette and smiles. "What about you, Mr. Jay Gatsby? Carmen doesn't think you've fully introduced yourself to us yet."

Carmen grins. "Mr. Jay Gatsby is in a band. Please say it's a swinging jazz band," she says back with a giggle, taking a drag off of her cigarette.

Evangeline shakes her head. She had kept it to herself when she had first met Matt Collins, assuming that it was just a coincidence that he looked like somebody from her favorite band, but when he starts talking about actually being in a band, she realizes that it can't be a coincidence. "No, it's not a swinging jazz band. It's an amazing band." She giggles and then immediately blushes again, realizing that she had been speaking candidly to somebody that she had been wanting to meet for years. "I, um. I really like you. I mean! Not you specifically! Reported Failure as a whole. Not that I don't like you, I mean. But. Um. You know what I mean." She bites her lip as Carmen laughs loudly as her, throwing her head back.

"I love Miles Davis, too," Evangeline cuts in, trying to make herself seem like less of an obsessive freak by naming off other people that she likes. The short silence feels like hours to her, and Clara's rantings don't make it any better as she feels herself become more and more awkward in this situation. "Is Billie here?" She finally asks, cutting off Clara.

Carmen giggles. "Gelly has a picture of Billie Beckett hanging up on her ceiling above her bed, like a middle schooler."

"Yes. Yes, I do," Evangeline confirms. On the list of things that Evangeline was embarrassed by, her poster of Billie Beckett wasn't even close to the top. She didn't care who knew about her obsession with him.
