Suzie and Carmen stand next to each other. Suzie - being much taller - has her arm around Carmen's shoulders and Carmen has her arm around her waist. The lights on the stage are dimmed slightly with a blue tint over it, giving the stage a very somber feeling. Soft music is playing in the background - a light piano is playing a happy melody, but almost indiscernible over Carmen and Suzie when they speak.
"The show is starting to come to an end..." Carmen says softly into her mic. There's some light 'awws' from the audience.
"I know, we don't want it to end either," Suzie agrees, nodding.
"But before we do our final award, and bring Ms. Isabel Merjos out here to finish the night--" Suzie waits for the cheers to die down, which started before she was even able to finish saying Isabel's name.
"We want to do our own little song for you."The two of them raise their microphone as the piano plays a little bit louder, being clearly heard now. They keep their arms wrapped around each other, making it seem like they're about to sing a ballad together.
Carmen starts off first, her voice flowingly beautiful, but leaving behind the folk artist sound that she normally has, taking on an almost musical theatre quality to her voice.
If you've paid attention
Then you'll notice we've already mentioned
How wonderful this year could be
Suzie joins in now, her voice a higher pitch than Carmen's, yet stronger - although not necessarily better. While Carmen's voice more floats through the room, Suzie's voice invades it - making it much more obvious that Suzie is lip-syncing. When they sing together, Carmen is the voice that keeps the harmony, while Suzie's voice more or less leads it.
It's been a twenty-four hour
High-action, non-stopping
Unscripted version of E!
There's laughs in the crowd, and both the girls smile. The piano, while still playing very softly and slowly, seems to be building up to something. The two girls separate from each other and walk to the lip of the stage, Suzie on the left and Carmen on the right. They synchronize their steps, and both make a grand, dramatic hand gesture to the crowd at the beginning of the next line, singing
together.
But this song goes out to the rest of you
The ones who don't believe everything they hear
Music has never been greater...
The piano does a trill, and there's a pause before both Suzie and Carmen sing:
Fuck, it's been a really good year!
For anybody watching on TV, 'fuck' has been bleeped out, but for the people in the audience of the FCAs, there's screaming laughter, and it's very obvious what they've said by reading their lips. The music immediately picks up into a very fast-paced musical number. The lights on the stage, which were dimmer with a blue tint on them before, now are bright, shinning over the stage like a wave of energy. They both grins happily, spinning towards each other until they're next to each other again. They both bend over, their hands on their knees, and sing towards the audience.
If the thought has ever been in your head
That you'd like Gemma or James Urie in your bed
Guess what, you lucky son of a gun
Their's marriage is dead!
Fuck, it's been a really good year!
There's some shocked faces in the audience with people not sure how to react to Suzie and Carmen making fun of what could have potentially been a very difficult situation for either Gemma or James, but Carmen and Suzie don't seem to care at all. With smiles still wide on their faces, they continue.
If you like Coke and Kidd Amaze in the nude
And you enjoy watching secret sex tapes to get in the mood
Hunny, you're a creeper
But we've got some good news!
Fuck, it's been a really good year!
The audience loosens up with the joke about Coke and Kidd Amaze's sex tape, knowing that nobody was especially hurt by that circumstance. Suzie and Carmen keep going, letting a small musically fill to go through as they stand up straight, taking each others hand, and do a little dance backwards, kicking up their heels. Suzie stops and spins Carmen around, her wild red hair flying around her before they stop and begin singing again. The next verse is a bit of a faster tempo now.
We almost had FREEDOM and Studio60 cat fights
That could have been beyond belief
And Reported Failure seems like they're back together
Much to our relief
Carmen holds out the last note of 'relief' before they start into their next verse. The audience seems much more accepting of them making light of some serious things that happen this year, almost the whole audience laughing loudly or cheering when it's something that they like.
So if you've been hiding under a rock
A lot more has happened than you probably thought
We have so much to discover
Austin and Kato might be lovers!
Fuck, it's been really good year!
While singing the last line, a stagehand runs out and hands Carmen her guitar. She quickly puts it on as the lights dim down again until the entire stage is dark except for a spotlight on her and Suzie. The music is suddenly a dramatic change from the upbeat musical number to the slow, sad sounding ballad that Carmen is now playing on her guitar. Suzie stands next to her, her head on Carmen's shoulder, pretending to be crying throughout this bit of the song.
Of course, it's hasn't all been so great...
Some great sadness has befallen us as of late...
Riot! broke up...
Suzie lets out a dramatically loud sob.
A lot stabbings went on...
Another loud sob from Suzie.
And some weird shit went down on CBB...
Suzie lets out a quieter sob and nods. You can hear her say, although muffled by Carmen's shoulder,
"I should have won my season..."But what really hurt the most
Was a betrayal that came with a twist
When we found out Scott and Gia
Aren't really...
Polygamists
Carmen plays each line on a higher and higher note, her voice following the same pattern until her voice is very high-pitched and wispy at the last line. The audience roars and claps for this reveal of the 'greatest hurt of the year.' Carmen genuinely looks like she's about to cry. Suzie looks up from Carmen's shoulder and nods, looking very depressed over the situation. Suzie wipes a couple of fake tears from her eyes and says,
"But besides that..."The music immediately starts back up in it's upbeat tempo.
Fuck, it's been a really great year!
Carmen and Suzie each go to opposite ends of the stage and exit down the stairs, coming into the crowd now, looking around. The music still plays in the background as they talk to people, but it's soft enough that Carmen and Suzie can be heard over it.
"We just want to say, thank you for coming, everybody. And to answer to question on everybody's mind: Yes, Carmen's tits are real."
Carmen nods seriously, as if this were obviously a very real question that people could have been mentally asking themselves all night. Carmen and Suzie begin walking up the aisles of people, waving and saying hello to everybody they pass. "Suzie, look at all these people who have made this year so great with their music! Jennifer Armstrong, you've been amazing this year!"
"Yeah! And SYNCO, you girls have done so great!"
"Dominic Brown, you were hot tonight!"
"Glamazon, I see you over there. You've been on fire lately."
"And Amy-Jayne..." She pauses. "Thanks for coming, I guess."
Suzie and Carmen use the laughter from the joke on Amy-Jayne to get back on the stage as the music starts back up again, louder now so that they can continue to sing along with it. They sing together now, moving in time with each other with musical theatre-esque kicks.
We've had...
Stabbings
Fightings
Break-ups
Make-ups
And a Twitter feud or two
Plus, we know now that if
A teenage heart-throb should go missing
Their fan's sanity will go, too!
The song suddenly turns into a two-person chorus line, with Suzie and Carmen doing very well-timed high-kicks. The cheers go up for them as they do, but they continue to sing over the cheers, both of them smiling widely.

They lower their legs, standing next to each other as the song calms down.
It doesn't matter if the article's it's true or not
In a week, most people will have forgot
They hold the last syllable of 'forgot' out for about ten seconds, the audience cheering for them as the music slows for them to hold the note. When the note finishes, the song launches back into it's fast paced ending, with Suzie and Carmen finishing the song out on a strong note, not only in their singing, but in their dancing.
Because it's been a really good...
Yes, it's been a really good...
Could have been better, but still pretty good...
Suzie and Carmen come together, putting their arms around each other's waists, getting ready for the big finish. They hold out each ending note of each line in a very dramatic fashion as the music goes for a big band finish.
Fuck, it's been...
A really good...
Yeeeaaaaarrrrrrrrr!
They hold their arms out to their sides in a very dramatic finishing pose - their hips touching, but the rest of their upper body is angled away from each other. They hold the note until the song completely comes to an end, and all that is heard is the screaming roar of the crowd. Suzie and Carmen stand up straight again and hug each other quickly before nodding to the audience, mouthing "thank you, thank you" to them before going back to the awards show.Edited by user 22 September 2014 10:34:17(UTC)
