Kourtney smiles. "I know I don't," she says with a little sass but is completely joking with him. She laughs some more. "Cake heroes? That actually has quite a nice ring to it." She watches him push his plate away too. "Okay, I'll get up any moment now. Just waiting to feel less full so I can get up." She smiles, pulling out her phone when it suddenly vibrates. She sees that it's just a twitter notification and goes to put it back in her pocket, not wanting to be on it while she was spending quality time with Jason.

"Yup so you better not get on my bad side mister," Kourtney says with more sass before laughing. "Wow, I can't believe you just said that. You're so cheesy babe but its okay." She continues laughing. "Yes but its just Twitter mentions. I'm trying to stay away from technology today and spend time with you." She looks at him and smiles. "Okay, I think I'm ready to go on that walk now."

Sam was just thinking about Evalyn when he gets a text from her, saying that she was back in New Mexico from the awards. "Ah, cool," he says out loud, sitting in the bar that he was usually in. "I'll see you guys later. I got to go see a girl," he tells his friends as he walks out of the bar and gets on his bike.

A few minutes later, Sam was at the cafe that Evalyn had told him she was at. He spotted her immediately through the window of the cafe and smiles, walking up to the window and knocking on it, trying to get her attention, a large smile on his face.

Sam smiles back even wider when he sees Evalyn's smile. Her smile was gorgeous, he always thought that. He circles back around and goes through the front door and then to Evalyn's table, sitting across from her. "Hey, sweetheart. When did you get back to New Mexico?" he asks.

"Aw, nothing? Those award judges don't know what they're talking about then," Sam says back with sympathy when Evalyn says that she didn't win anything. He didn't watch the awards, mostly because shows like that didn't interest him much. He had originally felt bad for not watching when he had learned that Evalyn had been nominated for something on it, but felt better now, knowing that she didn't win anyway.

"Well, as long as you promise you're not upset," Sam says with a smile back as he leans over and looks over a menu. He had been drinking a little bit earlier in the day, and was feeling like he needed to eat something. "I'm good, I'm good. Not a lot has been happening around here without you around, sweetheart. How about you? Besides a bust at the awards, how are you doing?"

Sam smiles a little when Evalyn says that she missed him at the awards. "Surrounded by all those big celebrities and people, and you missed Sam Thatcher? Sweetheart, I have to say that I think you have yourself a little crush," Sam teases her, giving her a little wink. Teasing was the way that Sam got out of difficult conversations. It would be difficult to explain to Evalyn that as much as he wanted to go to the awards show with her, he had never even left the state of New Mexico before, and going all the way to New York was a little intimidating to him.

Sam grins at her, and then shakes his head when she suggests that New York might have scared him. "Nah, sweets, it wouldn't of scared me," he half-lies. "I just had stuff going on here, so I couldn't go. Next time, promise."

"Aw, sweetheart, you know how to put the hurt on a man," Sam says jokingly back, putting his hand over his heart like he's been hurt that Evalyn would think that anything was more important than her to him. "Ah, they make damn good burgers here. I'd say anything that involves meat." He puts down the menu and looks over at the waitress, making a motion for her to bring him a drink. "I actually was playing at the bar this weekend. That's why I couldn't come," he tells Evalyn.

"Nah, you don't look like a total bitch. Promise," Sam says back with a smile as the waitress comes over, putting a Coke down in front of him. The waitress was a girl that Sam used to go to high school with, so they were pretty familiar with each other. "Tracy, hunny, I think we'll both have cheese burgers," he tells the waitress, who takes the order and goes back to the kitchen. Sam angles his head to see who was working the grill today. "Ugh, it's Tom on the grill. We might have to wait a little bit. He's notoriously slow."
