A wee place to chat about video games and the like. What are you playing? What was the last thing you played and how did you rate it? What games are you looking forward to? Anything about gaming really.

The most hours I put in a video game might have been DotHack for the PlayStation 2 I think I have over 60 hours in and I'm only half way done. |

I've never played Skyrim, personally. I was going to buy it at one point but never got round to it. Apparently Dragon Age: Inquisition is like a better version of the same. I might try that. |

The Elder Scrolls series is my shit. It's one of those games that's never really done, so I find myself periodically devoting large portions of my life to it every few months. I've been playing This War of Mine a lot recently. It's fun to name the characters after people I know, and see how long we can survive. Edited by user 11 May 2015 06:48:41(UTC)

Dragon Age: Inquisition is far from Skyrim in terms of exploration, but better in terms of plot by far. Really engaging game, but I'd recommend going through Origins and II before Inquisition for maximum impact.
I'm a big League of Legends guy as of late, if any of you play it or are just getting into it, I'll totally add you and play with you in it.
Gearing up to buy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt soon, really liked the second and first games so I'm excited to finish the trilogy.
Other than that, been running through some Last of Us again, some Madden and some FIFA. |

I've just bit the bullet and ordered GTA V for PS4. I'm dead against paying more than £40 for a game, but given I've finished Watch Dogs, I've got a need to fill that open world shooter game hole that's been created. Prices for current gen games are silly though. |

I think GTAV is well worth the cost, the online component really makes it more immersive and fun. |

gtav is the best of the series,i think. i bought it during me "spend every cent before the ex does" period when it first came out. even at like 65 bucks, its was worth every penny. great story, great characters, oodles of fun to screw around with.
i think the most time i have put into a game is fallout 3 or new vegas. i have about 160 hours into them both. god damn,i love fallout.playing these two games is like going home. though fallout 2 remains the zenith of the series. |

Probably going to sound a bit out of touch since the last game I bought and am currently playing is Silent Hill Downpour which was out in 2012. Got it for £8 in GAME last week though and thought it was about time to get back into gaming.
I played Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4 on the PS2 when I was younger hence why some of my characters are mentally disturbed. I enjoyed the games but never completed any as I was a bit too young to get my head around all the puzzles and twists and turns. Didn't follow the games after the PS2 got phased out and the only series I followed was GTA and that wasn't religiously either. Recently dusted off my PS2 and completed the fourth one and decided to get back into the franchise despite mixed reviews on the post PS2 games.
I am pleasantly surprised with Downpour. It's not as dark as the other games and the creatures aren't as horrible in appearance (although the Weeping Bats and Screamers would probably terrify me in real life). I still feel immersed in the world though and the feeling of loneliness really adds to the creepy factor. I know all of the games involve the protagonist lost in this nightmare world but this one in particular makes you feel really isolated and actually liking the main character helps. Makes me want to fight for him. The last one I played in depth was 4 and despite the great story, the main character was one big dull dud. Couldn't care less if he died or not.
Not sure if anyone else plays this series but it's one of my favourites. I'm more about the story and the mindfuckery when it comes to my horrors. Not so keen on gore and jump scares. Just seems tacky. If anyone else is familiar with the franchise what are your thoughts? |

Every video game needs a Lamar. And @BrownSugar, hell yes! Silent Hill 2 is a seminal horror game, hell a seminal PS1 game that everyone should have the chance to play. Have you tried P.T. prior to its' taking down on the Playstation Store? |

silent hill 2 remains the best....6 bucks i ever spent. i bought it used when gamestop had good values. it was creepy as shit and i loved every minute.
speaking of ps2 games,i still am screwing around with dragon quest 8 occasionally.

I never played the P.T but I watched a few videos of it online. Despite seemingly going around in circles, I was still intrigued as to what would follow and the story seemed like it was going to be rather interesting. |

I bought Outlast because... actually I don't know why I bought it, perhaps I was feeling brave or in the mood for torturing myself? Now the only time I play it is when I'm with my friend, it scares me too much to play alone :(( so the situation always looks like this after 10 minutes I'll stick with my safe non-scary Sims games |

I bought the Ps4 recently , the only game im playing currently is FIFA (which gets boring asf if you're playing alone). So , I'm waiting for the new Tekken and Final Fantasy 15. OH and i'm also playing Disgaea 2 for the psp ;) |

I can't play scary games at all. The first Bioshock, and parts of Bioshock: Infinite were too scary for me to play alone (I don't count Bioshock 2 as even part of the series, it was so awful). I get too immersed in the game, and then I end up having nightmares for weeks about it. But I've watched my friends play the Silent Hill games, and they seem really fun. lol

I remember getting Resident Evil 2 on Ps1 many a year ago. I must have been about 11 at the time, maybe. It put the absolute fear up me. Since then I've just tried to avoid them. I just can't deal with the tension in horror games haha, it properly makes me get anxious. I love horror films, but games I can't do in that genre. |
