Thank you so much for doing the work to allow it to exist. I mean no offense when I say that I wish I could play it more actively throughout the day.
I wish that updates were every hour and maybe you got 10 points instead of 7. I also wish that it cost 10 points to write a song, instead of 15. I wish it cost 5 points to play a show and not 7. 25 points to release a single, instead of 35. And that building ability was more like 1 ability point for every 2 points spent instead of 1 point per 6, or whatever it is. I'm not trying to be a drag, I just wish I could play it more fluidly, instead of doing one thing, and then waiting another 3 hours. I like the game that much. Oh well.

So basically you want it to be easier :P

The problem with having things like that is you very very quickly get very good bands and if you look at how difficult it is to get into the top 10 now it would be twice as hard if your ideas were put in place. Personally I have school to deal with so the whole building up of points whilst your away actually works really well for me, because as long as I can get online once a day then I can update it with no penalty. Plus of course I love the forum, which is the only forum I've ever been on for a long amount of time. And I've actually made a FRIEND on the internet. Creepy, isn't it? She just can't get enough of me. But no seriously I've never known a forum to have this many characters and people on it. It's kind of weird actually because I already feel that I know a lot of people on this forum quite well, well enough for me to judge their characters anyway. Which is kind of strange. So yes, forum is the best part of it, and the games pretty cool to. But there is a ton of additions I'd like to see, like in-game record labels and collaborations which actually affected the game, but it all tied into the forum as well. That would make a ton more people join the forum and would push people to do better roleplay because they couldn't just get away with working away at the game. But obviously it's not everyones cup of tea and you have to incorporate everyone's needs. So I like it as it is.

I hope you're talking about me, or else I'll fly to England to beat your arse.

Anyway, I keep without playing the game for days, so I always have tons of points to use at once. It can really help you grow.
On the old game I remember that my band only got big when I was without internet for a month, I had tons of points to use and I progressed.
If it helps you can create another band to waste time and let your favorite to gather points.

The only thing the game could have are music videos, those would be cool.
I own:

Andrew Guinnard (Post-punk/acoustic)
Lucy Tankeray (Pop diva/weird)

stuff the game needs that i have suggested over the years
-in game player controlled record labels
- a musical instrument shop.
- the ability to sell your songs to other people
- best of albums
- the ability to spend your money on things like houses, cars etc
- random events happening ie your discovered and get +10 popularity everywhere... or lead singer dies of an overdose - 20 ability

I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like:
Hey, what are you doing here?
and im just like:
Oh you know, hunting elephants

Love these ideas. Hopefully in the new version (if it ever sees the light) we'll get some new features similar to this.

We all must like the game somewhat, or we wouldn't be here. However, I stand by my choices that 1. the game is better when you don't play for ages and have thousands of points to play with when you do, 2. the RP element is more fun than the button-clicky element and 3. the game does need some extra features/dimensions.

I agree. I think it would be fun to incorporate all the elements of being in a band into the game. And yet, this is easy for me to say. I don't have the slightest idea how to program this kind of thing. But, it would be cool if there were things you could do that didn't require points, so that you could really waste some time on here! The labels and touring with other bands seems to be well established. Here are some other things to consider: Such as:

1) Interviews, Reviews, and Write Ups in General: Start with Blogs and Zines, and work your way up to NME, Rolling Stone, Mojo, Major Newspapers
2) Hire representation: Managers, Tour Managers, Publicists, Booking Agents etc...
3) Court radio stations for airplay and tv channels for videoplay
4) Arrange radio interviews and live radio / tv performances - start with small time cable access and move to BBC, or NBC / ABC / CBS in the states.
5) Buy and Sell Merch: T-Shirts, Records / CD's, Buttons / Pins, Stickers
6) Hire crew: roadies, drivers, techs
7) Deal with issues that come up: canceled gigs, dishonest promoters who don't pay you, band mates in rehab, overdoses, bad press, arrests, sex scandals and the like.

If Carl was to do them we'll probably end up waiting another 4 years.

Ok, the reality is that that is not going to happen but if it were to happen

Lets not get so technical with the game either with #7. It's just a game. We don't want it too easy but we don't want to it too hard either. One because we would have to be really involved in the game to play it correctly if it were that technical. It might as well become virtual (which would suck). There is something about cheap 3-D graphics that turn me off when it comes to video games.

The other features shouldn't hurt though. Also the ability to release EP's, Compilations. Demos*(For labels to sign you), Live Albums, Longer track-listings, Double Disc albums.

Genre Charts shouldn't hurt either but we need more users.

*Demos would be a great way to show you worked your way up in the music industry. Making a demo should take some time, meaning using a lot of points, and while making that demo your ability in writing, and everything goes up as well. Demos should not be for released but songs from it can be used for your future albums if you'd like.

Also, It would be awesome if you could use your money to release music videos, and market them. And what basically it does it works for promotion.

Also it would be great if it would be harder to earn money while going on tour.

I just list theses ideas for the hell of it, I still love the game the way it is but these features would make love the game even more.
