Jack: Looking forward to finally getting to see the show. Couldn't make it out there live but now that we're on the same label I'm hoping Head South will hook me up for tickets next time you're on tour. Fuck it, if you ever need a rough around the edges singer for a duet or a guitar slinger to fill in for a song or two onstage, give us a shout!

**Chapter One: Dark White Mask - Live in Helsinki**

[The scene opens in black and white. Sigrún, is seen looking out the window of her hotel room, the Helsinki skyline visible in the background. The camera slowly zooms in on her, capturing the reflective expression on her face.]

r

Interviewer (off-screen): This is your first tour date here in Helsinki. Interviewer, have you ever been to Finland before?"

Sigrún: (smiling) "No, this is my first time. But I must say, I really like what I’ve seen of Helsinki so far. It's quite charming, in a frosty sort of way."

[Cut to Sigrún walking through the streets of Helsinki, the camera capturing the serene beauty of the city. She pauses occasionally to take in the sights, her breath visible in the cold air.]

Interviewer (off-screen):You come from Iceland, a country known for its unique culture and music scene. Do you see any connections between Icelandic and Finnish cultures?

Sigrún: (Smiling, her breath forming small clouds) Absolutely. Both Iceland and Finland have this deep connection with nature, and it reflects in our art and music. There's a certain melancholic beauty, a sense of isolation and introspection, that permeates both cultures. It's like we're kindred spirits, shaped by the harsh yet beautiful landscapes we come from.

[The screen fades in to a black and white shot of Helsinki's snow-covered streets. The camera follows a bundled-up Sigrún, her breath visible in the cold air as she walks briskly, glancing around with a mix of curiosity and excitement.]

g

Sigrún:(smiling) Couldn’t be more appropriate, right? An album about winter, and my label sends me to Helsinki in February. They have a wicked sense of humor. (Laughing)

Interviewer: Your album "We Were Born in Our Homes and We'll Die Here" has been awarded Album of the Year at the UMAs. How does it feel to be starting your tour here in Helsinki?

Sigrún: (chuckling) It feels surreal, honestly. Helsinki is beautiful, even more so in winter. There’s something poetic about starting here with all this snow around. It’s like the perfect background for my music.

[The camera cuts to a montage of Sigrún walking through the snowy streets of Helsinki, smiling at the camera and waving at passersby. She pauses occasionally to admire the architecture and the serene, white landscape.]

Interviewer: You’re performing at Tavastia Klubi tonight. Have you been to the venue before?

Sigrún: (shaking her head) No, I haven’t. But I’ve heard so much about it. It’s got this legendary status, and I’m really honored to be performing there. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, honestly.

Interviewer: How do you feel about your first gig on this tour?

Sigrún
:(laughing) I’m definitely more nervous than I should be. But it’s a good kind of nervous, I think. And also, I’m really cold. (laughs)

Interviewer
:(teasing) But you’re Icelandic, you shouldn’t be cold!

Sigrún:(grinning) True, but it’s all part of the experience, right? Being cold is a good thing, especially since winter is the main theme of my album.

g

Interviewer: What’s the Icelandic word for winter?

Sigrún: Veturinn.

[The camera catches Sigrún’s playful smile as she continues]

Sigrún: And I guess that’s a perfect transition to our opening song, since it starts with that word.

Interviewer: yeah! I'll put this one on thé DVD! (laughing)

[The screen fades to black, and the title "Sigrún - Are You living or Dead Tour" appears, followed by a colored view of Tavastia Klubi's façade, and the title of the first song : "Dark White Mask - Live in Helsinki".]

h

[The scene opens on the darkened stage of Tavastia Klubi. The audience is a sea of indistinct silhouettes, their anticipation palpable. The camera captures the subtle movements of Sigrún and her musicians as they take their places on stage, hidden in the dark]

h

[In the enveloping darkness, Sigrún’s clear and vulnerable voice pierces through, accompanied by discrete electronic sounds reminiscent of smothered bird whistles.]

Sigrún (singing):
*Veturinn, veturinn, veturinn...*

[A single folk guitar begins to accompany her voice softly, setting a haunting, introspective tone.]

Sigrún (singing):
Winter
Comes down
Claiming
Claiming
His realm.
A White Mask
Crawling,
So cold,
Darkening,

Veturinn, Veturinn, Veturinn...

j

[After a brief moment of silence, the song transitions into a more agitated, rock-infused section. A crashing guitar riff tears through the quiet intro like a sudden squall, illuminating the stage in vibrant color. The audience can now see Sigrún and her band, as well as the beautifully stylized set.

The stage is decorated with old wooden furniture in the corners: chairs, a small desk, a bench, and a table with a carafe of water and several glasses. A rug with Icelandic folk patterns lies underfoot. Sigrún, now fully visible, wears a simple white dress adorned with discreet Icelandic runes.]

Sigrún (singing):
D'you Know how we live
In this land?
All is disappearing
It's dark outside
We'll soon be lorn
We're silent birds
We'll soon be lorn

[During the musical bridge, the agitated guitar riff continues, accompanied by a martial drum beat and a somber violin sound. The camera focuses on Sigrún, who remains almost immobile, as if the frosty weather has taken hold of her. Her eyes are empty, and she seems paralyzed, encapsulating the haunting, icy atmosphere of the song. Then continues, with a somber and powerful voice]

Beneath ice
Rivers cease to flow,
Chariots full of shadows
Rolling upon us
That's not good
No, that's not good.

[After a other musical part, Sigrún’s voice shifts to a more vulnerable tone for the outro, her emotions are raw.]

g

Sigrún (singing):
Oh Sinister Winter,
Spare our daughters,
Forget our sons,
Come Home my love,
Come Home my love,
And quit your wandering.

[As the final notes linger in the air, Sigrún, seemingly inhabited by the spirit of the song, walks slowly to the bench. The crowd, who had remained silent and captivated during the performance, erupts into cheers. The camera captures the emotional weight of the moment, Sigrún's face a mix of relief and connection with her audience.]

**Chapter Two: Are You living or Dead? - Live in Prague**

[The scene opens in black and white, following Sigrún as she strolls through the charming streets of Prague. The camera captures her in an intimate, candid moment, her eyes wide with wonder as she takes in the beauty of the city. The atmosphere is light-hearted and relaxed, punctuated with bursts of laughter and moments of quiet contemplation.]

g

h

Interviewer: hey, where are we?

Sigrún : (smiling) looks like Prague!

Interviewer: yeah! How are you feeling?

Sigrún: (smiling) Oh, I’m beyond excited. This city is absolutely stunning. It feels like walking through a fairy tale. The architecture, the history, it's all so magical. I’ve always wanted to visit, and now performing here.

[Cut to another scene: As she speaks, Sigrún takes out a camera and snaps photos of the cityscape, capturing the gothic spires, cobblestone streets, and ornate facades.]

h

Interviewer: What draws you to take photographs ?

Sigrún: (laughs) I just love capturing these moments. Each building tells a story, you know? It's like preserving a little piece of time. Plus, I want to remember every bit of this experience.

Interviewer: Oh, you're a kind of souvenir collector, aren't you?

Sigrún: (smiling) yeah, kind of...

[img=t]b[/img]

[Cut to another scene. They walk towards the iconic Palać Lucerna, where Sigrún will perform tonight. She looks up at the grand building, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. They enter the venue, and Sigrún marvels at the grand hall and its Art Nouveau decoration.]

g

Interviewer: So, this is where you’ll be performing tonight—Palać Lucerna. It has a 100-year history and is a jewel of Art Nouveau architecture. It features several fascinating places like the sculpture of St. Wenceslas riding an upside-down horse, a shopping area, cafés, and a movie theater, which is one of the oldest continuously operating cinemas in Europe. Franz Kafka probably came here to watch movies.

Sigrún: (eyes wide) Wow, that's incredible! It really feels like a voyage through History. I love this alley inside the building.

Interviewer: The Great Hall was initially designed to be a hockey arena, but it was converted into a concert hall. That's why you're here tonight.

Sigrún: (smiling) In another life, I should have been a hockey player to come here! (laughter)

Interviewer: (chuckles) You could have been here for a movie, too!

Sigrún: (laughs) Or having a drink at the café.

Interviewer: Actually, there's a private bar hidden in the basement, but it's only for the use of the owners and their friends.

Sigrún: No, really?? This place is full of secrets! (contemplating the architecture again) It's so full of character and charm.

g

Interviewer: Would you like to know who else has performed here?

Sigrún: (nervous laughter) My instinct tells me to say no to that question...

Interviewer: (smiling) ok, listen....

Sigrún:(sighs) great! let's have some more pressure.

Interviewer: One year after the Soviet invasion, the Beach Boys performed here. They received an incredible welcome from an audience eager for freedom.

Sigrún: (astonished) Wow! This building is full of stories.

Interviewer: And artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Tina Turner, and Lou Reed have all performed here.

Sigrún: (impressed) I knew I didn't want to know... (laughs)

Interviewer: Let’s talk about the second song on your album, "Are You Living or Dead?" Can you share a bit about its background?

Sigrún: (nods) Sure. Icelandic winters are long and dark, and they’ve given rise to endless tales of ghosts. During those dark times, ghosts were believed to follow every step of the living. People lived scattered across isolated farms or fishing villages, enveloped by thick darkness.

Interviewer: (laughs) Sounds like there's always a ghost at every street corner in Iceland.

Sigrún: (seriously) Oh, there are several ghosts at every street corner. (smiling) I truly believe in that. The title actually comes from an ancient Icelandic greeting. When there was a knock at the door, or if you met someone in the dark, people would say, "Are you living or dead?" You could never be sure if the visitor was a ghost or not.

[The interviewer looks intrigued, nodding thoughtfully as they continue exploring the venue.]

Interviewer: That’s fascinating. It adds such depth to the song. It’s not just about the supernatural but also about the isolation and the mystery of the human experience in those harsh conditions.

Sigrún: Exactly. It’s a way of connecting to our past, our folklore, and the things that shape our identity. Performing this song here, in a place with so much history and character, feels very fitting.

[The scene now transitions to the evening. The venue is packed, and the audience waits in anticipation. At the first notes of "Are You Living or Dead?" , the screen transitions from black and white top a colorized rendition, focusing on Sigrún's performance.]

g

g

[The stage at Palác Lucerna is dimly lit. A light fog hovers just above the floor, swirling gently under the subtle beams of orange light, creating a haunting atmosphere that perfectly mirrors the mood of Sigrún's upcoming performance. In the background, a series of ambient sounds—soft footsteps crunching on snow, a distant wind howling—begin to play.

Sigrún stands quiet. The audience falls silent, captivated by her aura. She steps up to the microphone. A single spotlight illuminates her from above, casting long shadows behind her.

After a short intro, with soft guitar notes, drenched in reverb, Sigrún begins to sing. Her voice is haunting, filled with a ghostly quality that sends chills through the audience.]

Sigrún (singing):
Are you living?
Are you dead?
Are you someone
Who remained?

t

[She sings with a fragile and intense voice. Each word is delivered with a delicate precision, the slight variations in her tone adding layers of emotion to the lyrics.

The guitar continues its subtle, minimalistic strumming, creating a textured background for her vocals. There’s no rush in her delivery—the tempo is steady, almost hypnotic, allowing the audience to fully absorb the melancholic atmosphere.]

Sigrún (singing):
Are you Hannes?
Are you Jon?
Names unspoken
Are you one of our own?

[The rhythm remains understated, with a gentle snare or brushwork softly entering the mix. It’s barely there, just enough to anchor the song without overpowering it. Sigrún’s voice rises slightly, filled with a sense of yearning and sorrow, as if she’s reaching out to the lost souls she sings about.

The ambient sounds continue to weave through the music, the distant wind growing more pronounced, evoking images of a desolate winter landscape.

Sigrún sways gently as she sings, her eyes closed, lost in the emotions of the song. The audience is transfixed, barely moving, as if afraid to break the spell she’s casting.]

t

Sigrún (singing):
Are you breathing
Or has life undone?
Lost sons in winter
Forever gone.

[She continues, her voice dropping to a near whisper, so intimate it feels as though she’s speaking directly to each listener.

The guitar adds a few more notes, still subtle, still drenched in reverb, creating an almost infinite sense of space and depth. The sound is expansive, yet it feels close, like the breath of winter on your skin.]

Sigrún (singing):
Winter's ghosts with silent names,
Are you alive or lost in the cold maze?

[The subtle electronic percussive elements begin to emerge, a faint pulse that adds a modern texture to the otherwise organic soundscape.]

Sigrún (singing):
Traveling heaths
And mountains roads
Dreary weather
Has again won

[Sigrún sings, her voice carrying a sense of weariness. She moves across the stage with slow, deliberate steps. The lighting shifts, casting long, eerie shadows that dance around her, mimicking the haunting figures she sings about. The audience watches, entranced, her movements almost spectral.]

[img=j

Sigrún (singing):
Winter guests,
Haunting homes,
Don't tell their names
Outside They roam

[The instrumentation remains minimalistic, with the guitar, subtle percussion, and ambient sounds continuing to build the song’s atmosphere. It’s a soundscape that feels both vast and intimate, drawing the listener into the cold, desolate world she’s painting with her voice.]

Sigrún (singing):
Abandonned mother,
Reckless rover,
Poor drifters
You'll remain
Outside.

[As Sigrún reaches the final verse, her voice rises one last time, filled with a blend of sorrow and resignation. The audience can feel the weight of the words, the sense of loss and loneliness they convey. The guitar plays its final, reverb-soaked notes, slowly fading into the ambient sounds that have been present throughout the performance.

For the outro, Sigrún stands still, her eyes now open, staring into the distance as she delivers the final lines. The room is silent, save for the faint wind and the last echoes of the guitar. She holds the final note, her voice fading like a ghost into the night, leaving the audience in a state of awe.

She ends her performance whispering one last time.]

Sigrún (singing):
You'll remain
Outside...

[As the last sound dissipates, there is a moment of complete silence in Palác Lucerna. The audience is held in a collective breath, reluctant to break the spell of what they’ve just witnessed. Slowly, applause begins to swellml and then grow into a thunderous ovation. Sigrún stands quietly for a moment, acknowledging the crowd with a slight bow.]

**Chapter Three: Nornadans - Live in Barcelona**

[The screen fades into black-and-white footage. Sigrún is seen walking through the streets of Barcelona, a camera closely following her, capturing her every gesture, the way her eyes widen at the sights, and her quiet awe. The city’s stunning architecture looms around her, from the narrow, winding alleys of the Gothic Quarter to the open expanse of Plaça de Catalunya.]

UserPostedImage
Interviewer (off-camera): *"First time in Barcelona?"*

Sigrún (smiling): "Yeah, it’s surreal. You hear so much about a city, but when you finally see it—it's différent... The buildings, the light, the people… everything just feels alive here."

UserPostedImage

[She pauses to take a photograph inside the Sagrada Familia. The camera lingers on her as she lines up the shot]

Sigrún: "You know, I’ve always loved architecture. In Iceland, it’s a lot more… minimal. This is overwhelming, in the best way." (laughs)

Interviewer: "Do you feel inspired?"

Sigrún: "Absolutely. There’s this energy here—it's both historical and modern at the same time.

[The scene shifts as Sigrún walks down to Barceloneta Beach. She stops, slipping her shoes off to feel the sand under her feet.]

Interviewer (teasing): "Not quite like the beaches in Iceland, huh?"

Sigrún (laughing): "Yeah, for sure… no sneaker waves here!"

UserPostedImage

[They both laugh, the light-heartedness of the moment contrasting with the weight of the upcoming performance.]

Interviewer: "I wanted to ask about 'Nornadans.' It’s such a cool track, and you performed it at the Universal Music Awards. How did it feel to win Album of the Year?"

Sigrún (pausing, thoughtful): "Honestly, I still can’t believe it happened. That night was a blur. But 'Nornadans'... it’s always been a special song to me. It’s inspired by the Norns, you know? They weave the destinies of men in Norse mythology."

[She gestures with her hands as she talks, drawing invisible threads in the air.]

Sigrún: "In the album’s narration, it comes after these really dark opening songs, and I wanted it to feel like a comforting tale—a mother telling her child an old legend on a cold, scary night. But the beauty of old tales is that kids eventually start questioning them, you know? That’s the twist."

[They continue walking, the camera focusing on Sigrún’s face as she contemplates the landscape and people around her.

Later, the scene shifts to the exterior of *Sala Apolo*. Sigrún enters the venue, looking around with curiosity as the interviewer fills her in on the venue’s history.]

Interviewer: "Sala Apolo has hosted some of the best artists. It used to be a ballroom back in the days, and now it’s this iconic music venue. You’re joining a long line of legends tonight."

Sigrún (excited): *"That’s amazing! I love venues with history. It adds something extra to the performance, like you’re part of a bigger story."

[She runs her hand along the wall, almost as if trying to feel the energy of the space.]

[Transition to color footage:

UserPostedImage

The performance of "Nornadans" begins with the image of a crowded venue. Building anticipation as the audience waits in silence. Suddenly, a voice emerges, ancient and ethereal:]

"Blása á nornirnar, biðja um blessun þeirra..."

[The phrase is whispered in Old Norse, carrying an almost shamanic cadence through the venue. The air feels charged with something otherworldly as the words, that Can bé translates by "Call the Norns, seek their blessing!" echo softly, repeating in Sigrún’s tender tone.

Gradually, the stage is illuminated by a warm, amber light. Sigrún stands barefoot on an Icelandic-patterned rug, her slender figure framed against the intimate glow, her blonde hair catching the light like a halo. Her band surrounds her: a drummer, two percussionists with tablas and Indian bells, a violinist, a bassist, and a keyboardist. A vibraphone sits at the edge of the stage, its delicate tones shimmering in the background.

The first notes of "Nornadans" rise. It's a captivating mix of Icelandic folklore and oriental influences. The tabla and Indian bells add a meditative rhythm while lush strings make a sinuous melody, reminding of classic Egyptian film soundtracks. The song's eclectic composition surprises the audience, who can sense something both familiar and foreign within its layers.

Sigrún begins to move slowly in sync with the rhythm. Her voice, is rich and pure.]

"Nornir koma, rúna spinna,
Nornir koma, rúna spinna..."
(Norns arrive, weaving runes)

[The sound of discreet bass notes creeps in, grounding the ethereal strings, while Sigrún sways to the rhythm, her movements like a slow, hypnotic dance. The crowd is drawn deeper into the mystical atmosphere, captivated by her graceful poise and the immersive blend of cultures]

"Nornir weaving, spells revealing,
Gladly gleaming
Nornir weaving, spells revealing
Gladly gleaming
Nornir weaving, spells revealing
Gladly gleaming"

[Her voice is smooth but powerful. The violins echo her lines, adding an oriental flourish that transports the listeners into a dreamlike space. The vibraphone, shimmering in the background, enhances the song's mystical quality, creating a sensation that time has slowed down.]

"Stretch, turn, weave the cord so thin,
Blindin' dim light,
No matter who you are
You're all caught in sin"

UserPostedImage

As the song reaches its instrumental bridge, Sigrún lowers herself to her knees on the rug, her hands tracing through the air, mimicking the movements of the Norns weaving human fates. The violins swell, the tablas echo in tandem, and the moment feels sacred, as if the audience has stumbled into a hidden ritual.

"Showing the way,
Adjusting the trim, right,
Fear not the twists,
The turns, the strife,
For in the end, it's woven right."

[Her voice is intimate and comforting, as though sharing an ancient tale by a fireside on a cold Icelandic night. She rises gracefully to her feet, walking back to the center of the stage, her steps still in perfect harmony with the beat. The warm, golden lights highlight her every movement, casting a magical glow across the stage.]

"Guiding lives
And giving lands,
Rekindling flames
Taking crowns

Nornir weaving, spells revealing
Gladly gleaming
Nornir weaving, spells revealing
Gladly gleaming."

[The final verse unfolds, her voice embracing the crowd with a soothing intensity:]

"Silent weavers of dreams,
Nothing's as it seems,
Spin the tales of yesteryears,
Shape the future with hopes and fears."

[As she nears the end of the song, Sigrún’s voice reaches its full potential, filling the venue with a sense of both strength and serenity. Her final movements, slow and deliberate, reflect the calm yet powerful resolution of the song’s narrative.]

The song concludes with a soft chiming of Indian bells, and the stage falls into silence. One last time, Sigrún whispers:

"Nornir koma, rúna spinna..."

Her performance of "Nornadans" has woven a spell over the Apolo, a magical interlude that blends Icelandic myth and multicultural sounds, leaving the audience utterly entrance.]
