And God still loves you after you do that. How amazing our God is. But bad people will be punished. I rather not go through the tough love route.

Yeah stories from the bible, probably the old testament. Classic ignorance from a person who doesn't believe in god. By the way this reference does not support you have an understanding of the bible.

So how exactly does one gain an "understanding" of the bible?

It's a book. With many contradictions. One reads it. One interprets it.

And yeah, the Old Testament is part of the bible.

I like how you don't remember those particular parts...

But yeah, you're right, the Old Testament doesn't count right? All stupid petty meaningless laws, right?

Matthew 5:18-19 (King James Version) wrote:

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Wait, what, those laws count too?

Well okay hey, forget Matthew, what does he know the stupid drunk? Here's a few other choice New Testament quotes...

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 (King James Version) wrote:

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:11-12 (King James Version) wrote:

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Oh women, they're so dumb.

Matthew 23:9 (King James Version) wrote:

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Fair enough. Dad.

James 5:14-15 (King James Version) wrote:

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Heal the world: drizzle oil and pray.

1 Corinthians 3:18 (King James Version) wrote:

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

Colossians 2:8 (King James Version) wrote:

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Gee really? Still on the earthly knowledge is bad thing? I wonder why...

On the woman which is the only "Difficult" think to understand out of all you quotes refers to. You have to be obedient to god rules no matter how "unfair" it may seem. Are you God? No.

"the women must keep silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak out". But also refers to but must place themselves in submission, as the oral law also says.

You have to look at history. I can see why and it has nothing to do with men and women being equal. It has to do with who is the head of the house. Which is the man.
Women were allowed to speak but not literally because the only time it was allowed if she was speaking under the holy spirit.

But that still doesn't go against the fact God loves you.

No! Its not a book of stories it is History, in which you must go to church to understand. Reading it from your home and without praying or anything, you would most likely will get nothing of it. The Old Testament will help you understand the new testament. That's why it is there.

I have yet to read any unbiased academic source claiming that the bible is historically accurate. The (unfortunately popular) idea of biblical inerrancy and the literal reading of the bible is so retarded that it detracts from the teaching of mainline Christianity. The fact is that there ARE a lot of contradictions in the bible, ie. the nature of God and Jesus' position in the Messiah. All this makes the stupidity of fundamentalist Christianity even clearer.

Like I said, it is up to you to start believing, The holy spirit will take it from there.
There is no such "Contradictions in the bible", as the law changes a lot as the time changes in the bible. God is very clear when it comes to his law and when he speaks which usually is seen in red in the bible there is no contradiction whatsoever because he has the right to change the law. He is God. People just abuse it because they have free will.

Most people who believe in the bible are just too scared to admit that they aren't there is no god so they have nothing to be guided by. That's the only reason why this religion even came about......and that there was little scientific knowledge back then, so it was a way for people to have their questions be falsly answered.

So God changed to being one ("Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one", from Deuteronomy 6:4. which is also the most important prayer in Judaism) to three? And suddenly the rules for being the Messiah also changed?

It is SUPPOSE to be like that. And if it isn't like that then fine, there is something called free will and people who chose to abuse it, will be punished. Why is there "Free Will" in the first place because that's how life on Earth works. I do notice when something bad comes to pass, we gladly hand that over to God when it was the human who made the decision. God's ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9)" “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts". When a person is suffering with a sickness, disease, or injury, they usually only focus on their own suffering. Since once again there is free will God has to allow it. But what God will bring good out of the situation? Don't you notice when people get really sick, as in hospital sick they always rely or go to God for help. That's why I say I rather not go through the "Tough Love" route. We live in a world were there will always be sickness, disease, and death will always be there. Sickness comes from mother nature not from God. Why does God allow AIDS? Not that he created it but because it will contradict "Free Will".

Boy that is some stunning logic. That God, having promised people his clear and true word, has wilfully obfuscated his word from the understanding of his people, requires that these people go somewhere to be TOLD by someone else what it means, requiring an investment of time, money and belief - oh and tell your friends so they can also take advantage of this great new salvation package. If you take God out of that sentence it reads like a pyramid scheme.

Leviticus 15:19-30 (King James Version) wrote:

19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.
20 And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.
21 And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
22 And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
23 And if it be on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.
24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.
25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.
26 Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.
27 And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
28 But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.
29 And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
30 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.

Yeah, so for more than a week every month that they menstruate, women, by grace of a natural bodily function, one gifted them by God, are unclean and impure and should not be touched by a man lest he become tainted and unclean? And that's an actual series of commandments that to my knowledge were never changed.

Not that he created but because it will contradict "Free Will".

But God created nature. Therefore HE created sickness.

So a woman must not try to get her independence from men, unless she wants to go to hell?
God gives men free will to overpower women, and women must accept that or they'll suffer eternally.
That's utter crap.

You have to look at history. I can see why and it has nothing to do with men and women being equal. It has to do with who is the head of the house. Which is the man.

Seriously?
We're on the 21st century and you still think only the man can be the head of the house?

It is SUPPOSE to be like that. And if it isn't like that then fine, there is something called free will and people who chose to abuse it, will be punished. Why is there "Free Will" in the first place because that's how life on Earth works. I do notice when something bad comes to pass, we gladly hand that over to God when it was the human who made the decision. No he did not. Nature did. God created sickness but not AIDS.
An example is, You can't say My mother created my child, just because she created me. Literally she did't, I did. I can't blame my mother because I had a child, she had nothing to do with it, I did.
The same goes for that. And all of this goes back to him allowing it because like I said When a person is suffering with a sickness, disease, or injury, they usually only focus on their own suffering. Since there is free will God has to allow it.
