Oh my god. That's possibly THE weirdest thing that's ever happened to me. Okay, so I wasn't using Gildermershina's technique of song searching but I am listening to Boys Don't Cry RIGHT this instant :P

Win ;3 I liked The Cure a fair bit before, but I've gotten into a fair bit more music this week which is a lot different to what I normally spin, and because of it, they've become one of my top few bands. I'm listening to a lot of chilled and older shit at the moment, and they're pretty damn perfect for it. Robert Smith is a genius songwriter!

their best of acustic album is one of the best things i own.....

erm artists i would recomend?

Jedi Mind Tricks
Darlek
Jamie T

Bach
Mozart

Brand New
Bon Iver
Llama farmers
Mew
Tom Vek

Operation Ivy
Sonic Boom 6

Therapy?
Mudhoney

Joni michell
Niel Young
Cat Stevens
leonard Cohen
Van Morrison
Carole King

would be the ones of the top of my head that not everone might be into allready... Obviously not everyone will like everything, hence a rough attempt at groupings..
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like:
Hey, what are you doing here?
and im just like:

fair enough, i quite like them, partly for the music, and partly for the memories attached to the music... Also a big mention to Guildy for introducing me to them last year.

I like Dälek, but I think there was someone else listing these rap bands. I remember a guy talking about this hispanic rapper that I was quite impressed by.

Dälek are fucking phenomenal. Immortal Technique is certainly prertty interesting lyrically.

Honestly, my favourite guy in hip-hop right now is El-P. His album I'll Sleep When You're Dead is just stunning alt-hip hop record. No bling bullshit, it's full of intelligent lyrics, and the music (often neglected in hip-hop) is just fantastic. I'm not a fan of posting up youtube vids because the quality can really do the music a disservice, but fuck it. Have Flyentology, featuring Trent Reznor.

Vocally, he's got such an unorthodox delivery. I'm a fan. First heard him through him featuring on an Aesop Rock album, which someone recommended years ago, I listened to and wasn't quite open-minded for hip-hop yet, cause of the dumb stereotypes caused by the mainstream stuff which is so often vapid, empty and just soulless. Came back to it after hearing Dälek, loved his first album Labor Days and then didn't hear anything more. Saddenly Aes never got near the mainstream. But I eventually got that sorted out. Bazooka Tooth was the second hip-hop record I ever got.

The Overly Dramatic Truth is possibly my favourite song on the entire album. If you like either of these, I'd really urge checking out Aesop Rock, Cannibal Ox, shit, there's so many good artists on El-P's label Def Jux.

This Is Not A Game Of Who The Fuck Are You.

For anyone who likes anything with core at the end of the genre name, clicky.
Too much leather chair is unsightly and greatly increases your risk of leather-smell.

That's basically saying "The Beatles" and "Oasis"

Hehe. Joke. I love Oasis :P Although Radiohead and Muse are very very similar.

And if you do post something that ISNT obscure, try recommending a song as well.

Forkboy, "The Overly Dramatic Truth" was an awesome song.

I was listening to my iPod and the Josh Joplin Group came up when I put it on shuffle. I like their stuff, they had one kind of big song that got on Scrubs once called "Camera One"

This is another song off the same album that I like better
