I know that many people here love low-key artists, the ones who aren't gonna ring a bell to a blonde teen girl, but really, what genre would you perform?

I personally would perform dance pop music mainly because of the cash. Although I hate the genre, It does bring in great cash. Oh, and I'd be a solo artist so I don't have to share the credit with anybody else. But, to you, would you choose the passion of music, or the money, or for some, are you lucky enough to take both (if you are, then you are some lucky bastards for taking an interest in the genre)?

I choose the passion not the money. So I'd play Death Metal haha.Well I guess a better way to some it up would be progressive because I like mixing genres mainly Death/Black/Thrash/Groove. Or instrumental metal/rock, something that lets me show off.

Something with long vocal notes, or fast vocal note changes as I am a fair singer when it comes to these two styles.

I'd play anything under rock that isn't Metal or Pop Rock.
I own:

Andrew Guinnard (Post-punk/acoustic)
Lucy Tankeray (Pop diva/weird)

I'd play music like Tool or System of a Down. Something dark but heavy. Or maybe I'd play some folk rock like Tom Morello now a days. I'd do it for the passion and the money but more for the passion. Heck I would play something like Smashing Pumpkins to. As long as I sing and write my own lyrics.

No, you are allowed to start a label. Never mind me, I'm being all nostalgic and mad. The first label I knew of was called Antipop, and it had the most artists at the time.

It's OK, I'm talking like 2005 labels, maybe before, the founder's probably dead by now. If not, I can arrange that .... *rolls up sleeves* :P not really, it doesn't matter.

Deathcore, and there's a good reason behind it.

I always liked to do alternative indie rock, but experimental rock would be cool too..

I'd do music like Bikki - madcore. ;) I very rarely think "I want this to be whatever genre" or "I want this to sound like whatever band" when I write my songs, I just sing and write and let the words flow, and it ends up like it does. If I were to become a professional musician, it'd be these sort of songs I'd perform, whatever the public thinks.

I would, by virtue of my lack of talent, exist outwith typical genre conventions. Broadly speaking I'd be a "noise" artist, but working more in the area of textural environmental sound than necessarily harsh noise. I'd do installations with visual presentation. You'd walk through a red room with an unnerving crackling buzzing sound and then into a silent room with a little microphone, which loops back any sound in the room at a random interval between 15 seconds and a minute, with various distortion treatments and reverb added to scare the bejesus out of anyone who dares walk in the room.

Straight-forward heavy metal because it's the only pitch and vocals I can do. Plus, I love it.
Awards (stroking myself and thinking I'm superior):
@Chaos awards:
Best Band - Mind
Best Album - Shattered Fairytale by Mind
Technical Ecstasy - Jason Smith (x3)
Best Solo Male - Jason Smith
Birdies:
Best Producer - Jason Smith

Fuck you, I'm PRACTICALLY a blonde haired girl!

My bandmate was one til she went brown! Had the industry voice to match, I guess.

Anyway, I have no interest in music anymore as anything more than creative output.
