How Do Comrades,

We've been away for a little while tidying up some loose legal ends which we can't discuss so apologies again for the seemingly endless delays in updates. Anyhoo we have have Two pieces of exciting news for those who care. We have a new single!! The single is called Serving Suggestions. We released this in limited numbers as a rough demo back in May when we last toured but now the full version is ready for your ears. It will be released later this evening. We produced the track with various members of The Theosophical Society who assisted in the recording of some of the tracks on our latest album Behemoth. We cannot thank them enough for their help and support. Anyhoo go buy it if you like it.

Thank You
Chris Fisher

How Do Commrades,

We have had our extended summer break and now we're back. We have decided to record a new album for you guys. As a unit we've been taking our time releasing albums and touring. This is to ensure that we don't try to kill each other again. Actually we haven't had a big tour since the Social Club tour last year. We were going to tour and play a few shows in support of our latest album Behemoth but for some reason that plan fell through (Mick Fisher you bastard!!!). Anyhoo, we have returned to the studio and plan to release it soon. It's far easier being together again in the studio this time around and we've got quite a few songs written and some arrangements sorted. The general feel to the album is more akin to our 2nd ever album Freak Out but we have also hired the Northern Symphonia Orchestra who may also tour with us. The orchestra are absolutely mindblowing and have recorded a wonderful version of In The Hall Of The Mountain King by Grieg for us. We may add some of our own magic to it!!!. Kii Kii and and Tom have been working on some amazing guitar riffs and solos and Foetus, Mr Unknown, Hetti and Helga have been keeping busy in the rythym section. We'll keep you updated. Well it's back to work.

See you all soon from all here in Herr Fische

How Do Commrades,

Whilst we busy ourselves in the studio recording again, we have decided to release another single from our last album Behemoth. The single is called Olga and features 2 brand new tracks called You Don't Deserve It and Is This It?. The new tracks were recorded recently and are a kind of sneak preview to what our up and coming album will sound like. We had a little help from our friends in the Northern Symphonia Orchestra in the recording of these tracks so we hope you enjoy them. The single is available tomorrow (15/10/2009) and is available from all good stockists.

We will be touring pretty soon once we get the record out of the way. We have some big plans for more crowd involvement at our shows too so watch this space as we could be coming to a place near you.

How Do Comrades or anybody who gives a shit nowadays,

It's been a long time coming (again!) but we've finished recording a new album for you to enjoy. The album is called Zebra and features our friends from the Northern Symphonia Orchestra who have been wonderful to work with. We have thoroughly enjoyed making this album and it now seems that we've at last put all the shit from the last couple of years behind us. It's been very therapeutic and a damn sight better than the supposed 'therapy' i'm receiving now from qualified doctors. Anyhoo, the album is currently being mixed and will be released very shortly. However, we aren't sure if we have a record deal. We know we had talks with Midnight/Mythic but can't remember signing or anything. We've got no paperwork either since the great Theosophical Society studio fire (which Kii Kii's cat Ruffles caused!). So anyone out there interested please give us a bell. Back to the main point of this update, Zebra is I think our finest work. The guys in the orchestra are genius' and really got involved in the chaos and lunacy involved in making a Herr Fische record (We had a real Zebra brought to the studio recently which didn't help in the slightest but at least it was a talking point and got ideas flowing strangely!!). This inspired us all to come up with our best work. There are some truly awesome bass riffs from Helga and some fantastic string wankery from Tony Johnson who plays Cello and Double Bass in the Northern Symphonia Orchestra. Their bass duel in the song Little Green Man is bone shaking. Tom and Kii Kii have came up with some beautiful guitar licks which blend well with the Violins and also the full might of the orchestra. It's really powerful stuff. Enough of the gay banter anyway. I'm not a salesman. It's up to you if you want to listen to it. I'd much prefer it if you all did 'cos then it won't be a waste of great musicians and our time (Jesus I sound cocky today!!). Now onto other business. You may remember we played at Hell Night Festival a few weeks back. We have decided to disclose some pictures of the performance. Not all members are featured in the photos but it does feature me in a giant hamster ball!!. See below. Speaking of live, tour business. We have signed a contract to say we will tour this new record before embarking on another musical journey or project. This is legally binding and was witnessed by 2 lawyers and a judge when all 8 of us signed it. We will be bringing our performing monkies the Herr Fische Dance Troupe and we are proud to announce that the Northern Symphonia Orchestra have agreed to join us on tour. You can count on us that you will have a good time. Anyhoo the artwork and tracklisting will be revealed in the ext day or two. So for now enjoy the pictures and we'll see you soon.

I have to say that the album was stunning. A true beauty. And the first album of yours in a long, long time that we did not work together on! This break from the scene has really been good to me, and I'm glad to see it has brought you some new directions to explore as well. I keep wanting to say that the album isn't really grabbing me as much as some of the older ones, because I don't feel that it is, but I keep listening to it. I imagine that it will unfold in time, as I really just can't convince myself to take it out of my car stereo. I really love how the orchestral work allowed you to write more subtle tunes. It's a beautiful album.

On another note, it would be cool if we were to meet up and jam again. I've been out of the business for a while, taking some much needed time off from constantly writing and recording, and I'm feeling the itch again.

How Do, and Happy New Year (even though January is nearly over!)

You may have noticed that we kind of vanished off the face of the Earth at the beginning of December. This was due to unforseen circumstances which we do not want to discuss publically and never will. This again delayed the commercial release of Zebra. However, we released a few advance digital copies a while back and have had some good responses, noteably our very good friends in the Theosophical Society/Sudan/Enoch (How you doing guys? Long time no see!!). We are now happy to announce that we have finally released the album as a hard copy and will be available in shops very soon. On a more positive note, we are really looking forward to this year. We feel a lot better as a unit and individually and we are happy. We've got some exciting new projects lined up for this year which we began working on recently so we'll keep you posted. Our scheduled tour for January unfortunately had to be postponed. No dates have been set yet (see previous post) but more will be added. We are raring to go after a very slow and painful 2009 so thank you for being patient. We are hoping to get more involved in the industry and music community after kind of alienating ourselves last year. We are looking at this as a re-birth. So as we are cleansing our souls of past sins, may i take this opportunity to say SORRY
in huge red letters for the endless delays and infighting. IT WON'T HAPPEN ANY MORE!!! Thankyou.

We have absolutely no idea if we have a record deal. For some reason and contracts that may or may not have been signed seem to have vanished like us in December. If anyone would like to claim this 18 legged freakshow as their property please message us.

Hello, chums!

It is great to see that you guys have sorted everything out and have gotten back to the fine art of music-making at last! Since you've been gone, we've finally started the Grand Society Mk. II releases a-rolling and have been issuing lots of compilations of vault material before we start unveiling some new studio material from the entire Society. So, you haven't missed a great deal. We wanted to buy as much time as possible on new material to see if we could get an Enoch/Herr Fische tour going with you guys, just like old times.

How do,

An update for you all. We have managed to reschedule our tour quicker than expected. The tour will now take place in March. As we mentioned in previous posts, all tickets for the original tour are valid or a full refund plus 10% of ticket fee will be given. We really cannot wait to get back on the road. It's been a while. The rescheduled dates are below and in main Tour Dates section on Page 1 of the site. As you would expect from us, we will be bringing our own brand of madness to various places around the UK. We are bringing along our friends from the Northern Symphonia Orchestra and our little performing Monkies, the Herr Fische Dance Troupe will be on hand to perform something that'll no doubt be weird even by our standards. We cannot wait to let the craziness begin again. We will be performing songs from our latest work 'Zebra' as well as some refined versions of our old era stuff. We have invited our friends in Enoch to join us on tour. Hopefully they will join us as it's been a while. There's talk of working with Enoch/Sudan and The Theosophical Society again in the near future on Mk II of The Grand Society. We really hope that this does take place as we've been itching to work with our old friends Daniel and Langdon for ages. It felt really strange recording 'Zebra' with little or no input from at least one of the guys. Anyhoo i'm rambling on now. If anyone would like to to join us on tour in support, then please feel free to pm us or reply on this site. The rescheduled dates and venues are below. We hope to get back over to the U.S.A and tour soon.

Herr Fische U.K Tour MkII: March 2010

How do,

We would like to announce that we are now part of Comatose Records who have offered us a fanatstic deal which we just could not refuse. We are really happy to be sharing the label with major artists such as Moronic Changeling, Quarantine, Jakey Comatose and Pilot and look forward to a long and fruitful time with the label.

Our favourite new(ish) band Mind are gracious enough to join us on tour in March. Mind are currently on a tour of their own around the U.K in support of their album 'The Juggernaut' which is amazing by the way. Their tour ends on 1st March in Cambridge and then they're coming with us on 10th to our hometown of Hartlepool. I don't know how they'll do it but it will be amazing anyway.

We have a new single out. We kept it quiet as we weren't sure how quick the transfer to Comatose Records was going to be but luckily it was quick and painless. The single is called 'Making Bridges' and is currently sitting at #68 in U.K Charts and #60 in U.S Charts. We really couldn't care less about the charts to be honest. We just wanna make music. If anything we create does get to number 1 though it'll be a bonus for us and the label. Anyhoo the single artwork is below, In related chart news concerning us, 'Zebra' has gone on commercial sale with the help of Comatose Records. This is faring much better in the charts, currently at #18 in U.K album charts and number #20 in U.S album charts. Again not that we're bothered.

We absolutely are ready to tour again with you guys. There is very little that is as fun for us or for our respective fans as when we hit the road together. Also, Daniel and Jack have both been telling me that they are interested in getting some Mk. II touring done, so it's really just a matter of us getting the timing down for that. I foreworded Daniel your message about working again together, and he's talked to the other guys in Sudan and we're all willing to clear out some time to work together again in the production zone. None of our three groups have anything coming out full of new material any time soon and Pharaohs likes to do their own production. But we are able to work with you whenever you want to get cracking on some new material. And I want to show you some riffs we have lying around to see what ideas you guys have for song construction. Man, it is always exciting to work with you guys.

How do

We've been pretty busy these last few days catching up with our old friends in the Theosophical Society and starting work on our next musical adventure. We've got quite a lot done these last few days on which we can work our magic. Just need to write and tweak a fare bit more for the project. We'll announce our next project soon. Anyhoo to the current.

We're gonna play a few shows in the USA and Canada!! That's right we're returning to the good old USA at long last for a whistlestop tour starting 10th February. Then we'll head to Canada for a couple of shows here and there then it's back to work before the U.K tour begins in March. The dates and venues are below. If anyone would like to support the USA/Canada message us here or PM us. Just realised we should have announced the American dates first but fuck it we're weird!

We've also been added to the bill for Midsummer Mashfest. Joining us so far are some brilliant bands such as Moronic Changeling, Transferium Project, Jakey Comatose, The Nimrods and Quarantine. As was pointed out to us by Katie Kairiri we're one of only 3 bands who have played at every Mashfest. That's quite an achievement and it would be weird if we didn't play.

Here are the tour dates:

Herr Fische USA/Canada Tour February/March 2010

February
10th: The Apollo Theater- New York City, New York
11th: The Apollo Theater- New York City, New York
12th: Avalon- Boston, Massachusetts

17th: Conduit Music Club- Newark, New Jersey
18th: Rock And Roll Hotel- Washington D.C
20th: Amway Arena, Orlando- Florida
22nd: Hookah Cafe- New Orleans- Louisiana
23rd: Logan's Rock Bar- San Antonio, Texas
24th: The Launchpad- Albuquerque, New Mexico
25th: The Roxy Theater- Los Angeles, California
27th: House of Blues- Las Vegas, Nevada
28th: Crocodile Cafe- Seattle, Washington

March

Anyhoo back to work now

Update

How do,

We are off to the good old US later this evening to start our first US tour in quite a few years. The tour begins in New York on February 10th. We have been looking forward to this day for weeks now. We hope that our fans will enjoy the tour. We are bringing all the props with us that you would expect, including Olga our trusty old organ and the giant Hamster ball of which Chris has grown too fond and calls home. Our performing monkies the Herr Fische Dance Troupe will be returning and we are bringing our friends from the Northern Symphonia Orchestra along for the ride. We will be playing songs from our lastest albums Behemoth and Zebra, along with some songs from the Old Era. We also hope to have our famous/infamous dance off competitions. It all depends on how tight the security are and if they are going to be a bunch of fascist kill joys. However, please be careful as afterall they are there for your safety!! We look forward to seeing our American fans again. We apologise for not getting over sooner. We do thank you for your patience and you shall be rewarded duly. Anyhow that sounded too arrogant so i'll shut up now.

In other news. We have a new single ready for release. It's called River Song and it's available from this evening via Comatose Records. We hope you like it. It's taken from our latest album Zebra and we will be playing this on tour. Below is the artwork for the single. Enjoy.

TOUR UPDATE

How Do,

Well we're finally on the road once again. It's taken a while but we can honestly say we are glad to be back. Anyhoo our tour got off to a flying start in New York on 10th and last night at The Apollo in New York City. The crowds were fucking amazing as always and we hope we gave em all a good time. We had a few issues before the show. Apparently we aren't allowed to bring live animals onstage anymore. We originally wanted to bring a couple of Zebra's on tour with us to fit with the title of our current album. However, we had to make a couple of stuffed Zebras instead. We took to the stage on both nights to the tune of Grieg's In The Hall Of The Mountain King which was performed by our friends in the Northern Symphonia Orchestra. We actually arrived on the backs of the stuffed Zebras much to the bemusement of our fans. We started the tour with 'Zebra'. I actually remained on the back of one of the afforementioned Zebras for the song. I must say the crowd have never been so enthusiastic for our shows (hopefully that didn't sound too arrogant!). During the show we played songs from our latest album such as our latest single River Song and Little Green Man. During Little Green Man, our little performing monkies the Herr Fische Dance Troupe performed a trapeze act wearing alien masks and dressed in zebra print outfits. We also performed songs from our last album Behemoth featuring the Northern Symphonia Orchestra as well as some Herr Fische old era stuff. As a treat to the fans, I decided to give the hamster ball an airing during a really old favourite of ours Where The Wild Things Are and kind of rolled over the crowd. It's bloody hard trying to walk on hundreds of pairs of hands but its good fun! While I was still being passed around the crowd like a giant beach ball, the rest of the guys held our dance off competition. The security were for once happy to allow a few people onstage rather than attempting to stop everyone and from what I could see it looked like good fun!! The winners were a lucky young lady named Jennifer on Wednesday evening and Lenny on Thursdaay evening who received $300 and backstage passes for themselves and their mates. Kii Kii finished off the evening with her version of Call Me by Blondie by climbing one of the stuffed Zebras and riding around the stage (Foetus rode around the stage all night whilst playing keyboards). We had a fucking amazing time onstage and had a wild aftershow party with Jennifer and her mates Timmy and Maria on Wednesday night and Lenny and Laura on Thursday night. We hope the rest of the tour is like this. We are in Boston this evening and cannot wait to give the Massachusetts fans a good show. We'll see you there.

Update

How do,

Sorry about the delay in updating. We've been busy trekking across the USA on tour and doing a bit of sightseeing while we can. Anyhoo, it's been a pretty mellow tour so far. The days have been long with the usual crap interviews with people who don't have a clue who you are but know you're famous for something and shitty radio jocks trying to be cocky. At least we get to play shows at the end of the day!!!. There's been arguments too. Not to panic though we're not gonna bail or split up. We've just been arguing over what songs to play on particular nights and the merits of saving money if we cut up Kii Kii's credit card, which naturally she isn't happy about. You should see the amount of stuff she's bought, especially when we were in New York. It's amazing she manages to fit all the shit she's collecting on the bus!! Well anyhoo, we're appearing at Hookah Cafe- New Orleans- Louisiana this evening so get there early if you want a good spot for the show. I think you can pay on the door if there are tickets/places left (not sure!!! Check with venue!!). We played the Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida on Saturday 20th and we had an absolutely amazing time. We had the usual mix of old and new songs, performances from our little performing monkies the Herr Fische Dance Troupe and a little solo set from our friends in the Northern Symphonia Orchestra. As usual, we also had our dance off competition. I also had fun with my giant hamster ball again. No idea why I punish myself in that thing but the crowds seem to like it!! However, security was very very tight so we decided to hold the Dance Off's in the crowd. We managed to clear 3 areas in the crowd so that we could start the dance off. Hettie, Mr Unknown and Paul got into the crowds to pick the winners who were eventually allowed onstage for the main dance off. This was won by Kellie Stein, a student from Tampa. However, she said she didn't want anything materialistic as a prize. So we decided to pay her tuition fees for the rest of her time at college/uni. Anyhoo below is the set list from last night. We are hoping to piece together footage and release a live DVD or something like that in the very near future. Again we finished with our world famous (or infamous) cover versions, where we murder well known and well loved songs. See below.

Until next time Comrades

How do again,

So here we are again, another delayed update. Anyhoo we are still trekking around the USA with The Theosophical Society but we have reached the final port of call in the USA. Tonight we play at the Crocodile Club in the grunge capital Seattle, Washington and cannot wait. We've got a great sound planned for tonight. We are going to make our sound more heavy and grungy just because we can. We aren't sure that the fans would like this or not but we hope that they do!!. When we played at the Hookah Cafe in New Orleans 6 days ago, we decided to play in a bluesy style which we really enjoyed and the crowd seemed to enjoy it also. It's been a pretty busy couple of days. I've been helping out Langdon with riffs for a new album either with Sudan, Enoch or The Theosophical Society and Kii Kii has been spending like it was going out of fashion!!! I swear she has an addiction!! Foetus has been spending too. However, he has bough some new laptops and synthesizers which he plans to have set up asap. They weren't cheap though. We've been working on some new ideas for a new project which we hope to start working on once the tours are out of the way. Tom has come up with some awesome riffs and Mr Unknown has been tweaking things here and there to create some weird atmospheric sounds on Olga our organ. We've also had input from Daniel and Langdon from the Theosophical Society with piecing random snippits together. Thank you again guys. Anyhoo in terms of the tour, we've had a blast. We all got totally wrecked when we played in LA and Las Vegas. I forgot how fucking amazing it is in Hollywood. Can't remember what happened after about 2am but it must have been a good night. I woke up with the biggest hangover. As for Vegas, well lets just say a lot of money was squandered and not a lot was won. It was awesome though!! We've had a blast doing the shows too and as usual we've had our little dance offs and I crossed the crowds in my hamster ball!!! I'm thingking of weariing padding next time though cos i'm black and blue where i've been falling over inside the ball. Bloody hurts sometimes!! Anyhoo, tomorrow we will enter Canada for 3 shows before heading back to the U.K to prepare to tour with Mind from 10th March. Anyhoo, below is the set list which remained has remained unchanged since the New Orleans show. However, we have changed the set list for tonight and the canadian shows.

Bye for now

Chris
