We plug ourselfs in round one to give the chosen judges an idea on who to give the votes to in round two, which the judges can't vote for their own. So plugging isn't voting, it's just giving the judges an idea about who deserves their vote.

Basically he's the idea, you 'advertise' your achievements and what you have done, and a group of people (usually the most experienced RP'ers) give in their votes on which ones they think are the best and deserve the award the most. You don't actually nominate yourself, you put yourself available for it but the judges choose if you actually are nominated. Problem is because we have such a small community, it's not that challenging to get nominated.
