We plug ourselfs in round one to give the chosen judges an idea on who to give the votes to in round two, which the judges can't vote for their own.

So plugging isn't voting, it's just giving the judges an idea about who deserves their vote.

Honestly, I don't care how it's done. I don't care if we vote for ourselves or not. It's still fun to me.

OOC : Adding this to first page. There are a lot of new people here who won't know IMAs conventions.

Clear Vision-Best Newcomer-I believe Clear Vision deserves this because I'm quite sure I've roleplayed more than any other new artists here, and I've had so much controversies within the band and clearly identified each character's personalities.
Clear Vision's The Universal Tour-Best Gig/Tour/Festival-I believe this deserves to win because it was very big when I first started rping about it, and I have some of the best artists in the game opening for Clear Vision in the tour. Also, it is a very long and massive tour with multiple legs and an eight month duration.
Clear Vision "3am"-Best Single-Although not the greatest on the charts, I still believe this deserves a nomination because it is Clear Vision's reviving hit single that sparked interest back into the band.

You ain't figured it out yet? That's all role play is.. Every artist tries to get rich and famous. Dude, that's what makes it amusing (sometimes) in role play here. Hell even outside of role play, members seem desperate about getting popular.

OCC: But whats the point of an award honestly if you vote yourself? It's not worth it...

OOC:The judges can only vote for themselves in the last round anyway

ooc: Plus voting for yourself alone won't win it for you, admittedly some cocks do tactically vote but oh well, it's a bit of fun and if you have a better way of doing it your welcome to start your own award ceremony!
there is but im not gonna start one. No point too. If people like advertising for something like this then let them be.

Basically he's the idea, you 'advertise' your achievements and what you have done, and a group of people (usually the most experienced RP'ers) give in their votes on which ones they think are the best and deserve the award the most. You don't actually nominate yourself, you put yourself available for it but the judges choose if you actually are nominated. Problem is because we have such a small community, it's not that challenging to get nominated.
If it's so easy, shouldn't plug ins not be needed? I rest my case..

More About Plugging & Nominating ....
You may be wondering, why is everyone showing themselves off? Why should I do that? Isn't it just cocky, shameless, etc. to nominate yourself?
1. Plugging yourself in this thread is not nominating yourself, you aren't guaranteed a nomination if you post and show off here. However, it does help .... how? Because there are a lot of us. Judges are unlikely to have the time and/or stamina to go trawling through a ton of threads to pick. So, if you write here, in a nutshell (or maybe the whole nut if you're really going for it), what you want to achieve and why you should, then you're much more likely to get your nominations.
2. It's true, nobody likes a showoff. But we make exceptions here - a good cocky, shameless show-off of a roleplay is GOOD! Remember, YOU ARE THE BEST!

^ there, I think that says it all. (:

Best Album - So Are The Cougars - Pilot. You know you want to

Best Single - Sirens. It's goddam epic.

Best Art - Pilot - Let The Lovers Come Together

UserPostedImage

Gig review from Oct 22 2009

Pilot promised to upgrade their stadium show and from the set alone they had delivered. Instead of the basic flat, rectangular stage they had gone with on every other tour, this time they had a stage with three runways and a raised level at the back so Stephen could be better seen. The giant screen above the stage dispayed a spinning hourglass as the crowd waited for the band to come onstage.

The band walked out to a shortened version of instrumental Come Upon New Times, in homeage to Oasis and their track Fucking In the Bushes. Without a word they kick into Bag Of Bones, the opener off their new album, designed to get the crowd going right from the outset. At the end of this song Nick got in a quick, "Hello Montreal" before the band kicked right into Sally Thirtysomething. To conclude this Nick led the crowd in a singalong, repeating the chorus in a mass acapella, with hands clapping. "Sally's on the town / but Sally's thirtysomething / with a kid who needs her round / but Sally's taken something / I guess he'll see her round / coz Sally's thirtysomething and she's better off alone / better off alone".

This was followed by Cash(ed Up) Cow, which the band have referred to as a sequel to Sally Thirtysomething. Nick was relishing the opportunity to have more of a stage to run around, exploring the runways and getting amongst the fans.
For Accelerate both Clint decided to climb up on top of something so the crowd could get a better view of the difficult guitar work the song requires. Clint was up on top of a stack of amps while Murray was atop Stephen's bass drum. Nick decided to illustrate the lyric "Accelerate" in the title by sprinting from one runway to another every time he sang it.

If You Want It was kicked off with a five-minute, improvised, jazzy-sounding jam with Nick repeating the line, "If you want it" in his best bluesy voice. At the end of the song Nick admitted to the crowd, "We wanted to be The Mars Volta again".

The "doo doo da doo" chorus to Cirque probved a drunken favourite singalong for the crowd in the bars, much like The Fratellis' Chelsea Dagger. and so, as a homeage to The Fratellis, Nick blended the final chorus of Cirque with the Chelsea Dagger chorus and the band played a short version.

Virtual Fantastic was accompanied by a laser show with dancing shapes of green and red painted in the sky.

Brothers & Sisters closed out the main set, as per usual. Clint dedicated the song to "all of us here tonight coz we're all beautiful."

Song To Fall In Love To opened the encore set. Giant red, heart-shaped balloons were launched into the crowd from high above the stage. As the crowd passed them around they exploded to release several slightly smaller balloons and so on until many tiny, multi-coloured, heart shaped balloons gently fell to the ground by the end of the song. Nick told the crowd at the end of the song, "that's a beautiful song. I'm looking to fall in love again." Space Cadet then kicked of, a fun, bouncy song in stark contrast to the attitude brought on by Nick's admission of loneliness.

Lightyears concluded the set, accompanied by another laser show, this one with several different coloured streams of light seemingly chasing each other through the sky. Nick concluded the show by telling the crowd, "Thankyou so much Montreal, we love you, have a great night."

Whatever you think is underground, is. I think I should win it because I live underground and - does giving Madbirds things make me an artist?

Best Band-Axiom: Kind of a long shot here but we have produced 2 critically acclaimed albums, 2 critically acclaimed EPs, and a covers album (although that wasn't to well received). Also created and promoted a festival (Rock for the World: New Year's Eve) and are working on the second of the biannual festival slated for June/July.

Best Band Member-Tim Dunn of Axiom: Tim writes with Mike Peck half of Axiom's music but was also the main writing and organizing force behind the Jazz All-Stars.

Best Newcomer-Axiom: Tim has been around forever I know so I don't know if he is eligible, but Axiom is a relatively new band.

Best Collaboration-The Jazz All-Stars (name subject to change): What is more exciting that a jazz sextet made up of superstars from every genre of music and several huge bands. More than just a song or a single this is an entire album that allows these fantastic musicians a chance to play music they would not normally get to play. Tim hopes that this can become more than a one-off thing and intends to continue recording music as the Jazz All-Stars as long as there is interest from all involved.
