I climbed to meet the morning
Wading out into a shallow pool
And as I turned my eyes upward
The voice attesting to the air the pitcher plant is breathing
And begging me to acquiesce
The afternoon aglow came tumbling down the stairs
Towards the evening below

My hands were dripping red, of you
Across the concrete by the pond, a view
The solemn trees held their counsel there
Quietly as ever whispering their disapproval
To the magpie and the moorhen
Though the fox courting pigeons by the gate
Remained evidentially unaware

The water had ceased flowing
And held its breath in shock
Counting back and forth across time
The sundial slowly melted into the soil
The solar barge had sunk but was replaced by
A consignment of temple lanterns
Carried in a caravel upon the surface of the sky

Lo, the toothless, eyeless spider
With her myriad wiry hands
Was spinning a thread to bind me
Blindly pedalling the antique loom
In her still unlit room
Metaghehimna, wretched crone
Harbinger and prophet, of my ruin

This sounds like the english translation of pretty much every anime theme song

Alright, so, I'm really happy right now. Me and some guys jammed today, sounding like some mix between NOLA metal and a lot of the early 90's Floridian death metal, I'm actually pretty excited about this.

I was kind aiming more in a Joyce/Blake/Dali direction, with a bit of mystical indulgence in order to intertwine a) my experiences of Festival Park b) several dreams I had which did not take place in Festival Park c) Egyptian mythology d) a mythology of my own which I have been constructing for nearly a decade (which is a scary thought), so as to reconstitute my own life and thoughts as a series of richly detailed and evocative images. But apparently I ended up with Japlish... Fuck.

Well, the english translation of pretty much every anime theme song's lyrics turn out something like this. It's kinda funny.

What a great result. Quite proud right now.

Nah, fuck the football, Scotland went to Argentina and beat the home side 24-16! Amazing result, even if the only one on here who'll care is Rince.

it was a good game.... nice to see Scotland win every now and then ;P

England USA..... it was a good game, we played well, created some very good chances and got a draw after a sad cock up, which could have happend to absolutly anyone......
inclusing
Seaman, Robinson, James...
im glad Green made the error in the first game and not in an important one later on in the tournement... and i can garentee that after making that cock up he will be on the ball now, and will be a better keeper for it...

remember the USA actually has a half decent football team and are one of the only teams to have beaten Spain in the last two years (who are the tourny favorates)....

if you think the USA are shite then yes it looks like we played a bad game, but they are a solid team with some real talent and a very very good goalkeeper who we made work very very hard for his money, Well done England....

also how good did Germany look last night? despite missing 5 of their best players they still dominated and made it look easy.
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like:
Hey, what are you doing here?
and im just like:
Oh you know, hunting elephants

The Germany result was never in doubt, take a young, very talented Germany side up against an ageing Aussie side (pretty much the same squad from 2006). Just shows that having a mental and physical toughness and never say die attitude is generally no match against more attacking and tactically and technically sound opposition. The Socceroos are getting a hiding in the press here as if everyone thought they should have won (though the performance could have been far better). They are just not good enough. Thought Cahill's instant dismissal was a bit harsh though the free kick was there.

I've had an eventful weekend. Went round Cat's on friday and got drunk with her and her sister, Lianne joined later. I remember thinking "We should go soon..." at like 12:30AM, then waking up at 3PM ragingly drunk. Apparantly I passed out in the garden poking a hedgehog (which I somehow had a photo of on my phone) and Lianne practically carried me home at 3AM. I fell in a bush, scratched up my left arm quite badly, passed out on someone's lawn for a while, got locked out for 20 minutes cause I was too drunk to find my keys, vomitted on the neighbours car, got lost trying to find my back garden gate, somehow got in, Lianne undressed me cause I couldn't feasibly do so. Saturday was the worst hangover ever. Sunday, had Ashley round, and had good times reminiscing about high school. :)

Done all bar two days worth of work of college, then I finish higher education for good on Friday! Wheyy!

Roll on Thursday though... Getting much needed pennies. Buying bleach. Doing roots. Getting this remaining green out which REFUSES to leave half the roots of my hair. Shaving hair off into the top part and a mohawk over the next couple of weeks when I find the time...

Thursday, Alec's coming round to get drunk with Lianne and I. Friday, I'm going round Deanne's with Georgia to take advantage of a free house. Saturday, going to see Matt and Alec in Rugby and Lianne's trekking home for a while to pick up a few things. Sunday, Peace Festival in Leamington. What a wonderful start to my summer. :)

I spent two hours practising guitar, mostly my Ebow technique, which I will require for the musicking I intend - but will inevitably fail - to get done this summer. All big Ebow textures and slow clumsy riffs in Drop B. Unless of course I get bored of B and move back down to Drop A...

Italy/Paraguay 1-1 draw

:(

Italy should've won. I've always rooted for Italy first, USA second.

Australia looked good at times, but their defense was awful, they kept complaining on the slightest things. The referee was Mexican by the way, and he owes the almighty Pumas one championship trophy.

All the major teams aren't playing very well.
Brazil x North Korea started some time ago and the whole country's stopped. I didn't want to support Brazil or the crazy dictator (forgot his name), so I'm here :p
I seriously hope Brazil loses. Can't stand to spend the rest of the year with the whole country celebrating, specially with elections coming up.
I own:

Andrew Guinnard (Post-punk/acoustic)
Lucy Tankeray (Pop diva/weird)
