I don't know anyone who has heard of this amazing band. I think they're one of the best new(ish) bands and The 59 Sound is one of my favourite albums and I can't wait for American Slang. Has anybody heard of them on here and if so do you like them? Edited by user 07 March 2010 05:44:35(UTC)

I thought I'd just throw some song titles out there for people who haven't heard them to listen to.
The 59' Sound Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts Boomboxes And Dictionaries I'da Called You Woody Joe Red At Night Old White Lincoln Even Cowgirls Get The Blues Here's Looking At You, Kid Great Expectations
If you can't be bothered to listen to them all then I'd recomend 59 Sound and Old White Lincoln. |

It's gotta be 'I'da Called You Woody Joe' if youre looking for the essential Gaslight track! |

I've never been as excited about an upcoming new album as I am about American Slang, There's a feature in Kerrang about the album and I'm gonna get it as soon as possible even though I don't usually read Kerrang. Their cover of Baba O Riley by The Who is pretty amazing it's just a shame their isn't a better recorded version because the one thats on youtube is pretty good but a bit dodgy at times. |

The single American Slang is on their MySpace page and the full tracklisting has been announced and so has the album cover. The single is pretty good and it just makes me want the album even more. |

I know nobody really cares but American Slang was number 18 on the UK album charts, It's not bad compared to their last album, It's a really good album. |

Wow, people still look at the charts?
Baffling unless you are in a band or work for a label. |

Yes but that is what baffles me. I don't really care how successful a band I listen to is. |

Mostly, me neither, although sometimes it's nice to see good artists wading through the sea of crap and getting the recognition they deserve! |

Thats exactly why, I don't know anybody who really likes them so it's nice to see their album do fairly well and know that I'm not alone in my love of the Gaslight Anthem. Also I don't genrally look at the chart because there is a lot of crap on it these days but if there's a new album out which I like then I do have a look to see how well it did. |
