Well, it can be (and has been) argued that we are not neccessarily naturally monogomous beasts, that it is in fact simply something that disgusts us because that is the way society chooses us to see polygamy. After all, plenty of people have affairs and yet still deeply care for their husband/wife at the same time as they are cheating on them with someone else they clearly care for.

Polyamory certainly seems a much more decent way to go about having multiple relationships, there is no lying involved for a start. And traditional polygamy tends to be inherently sexist at patriarchal, ie it's always the males who have many wives and not the other way round, often justified by religious dogma, such as in Islam where the prophet Muhammad had four wives and so all men can (under Sharia law at least) have up to four wives.

I think a ployamorous lifestyle would certainly take some getting used to, you'd have to learn to be a lot less possessive and jealous with loved ones, but I don't really have any problems with it, I take that quintessentially British attitude of "what goes on behind someone elses front door, so long as it hurts nobody, it's not really any of my business".

Well that's a good outlook, I just had never heard of it before so I was shocked and sort of disgusted by it at first. Obviously that would be considered a sin under Christianity, but like the bible says I'm no one to judge. I just personally don't see how it is possible for me to have a relationship with more than one person like that.

What I noticed is that the partners who do it, seem unloved. They hug and kiss more passionately as if they had never been kissed or hugged before. It's really sad. However, they seem to be more spiritually connected which actually can work well for the relationship. I'm going to look more into this. Not that I'm going to do it or anything....

Well, the problem with cheating is the lying, essentially. The idea of having a relationship with more than one person simultaneously isn't exactly wrong at all, the problem with it is the way that they are usuallly done, with deceit and deception, which causes pain to people you supposedly love.

Yes but if people were honest and up front then they'd not get caught.

i see it as a massive thing... especially since i have been cheated on in the past... it hurt me a lot, and i couldn't do that to someone i supposedly love...
the two are incompatable i find... if you have the desire to cheat you don't love the person your with anymore / enough so should probably do something about that before hurting them even more and stringing them along.
