The Gaslight Anthem are an amazing rock band, you should check them out there pretty incredible. Tiffany Page is a british Pop/Rock type of musician (Listen to I Am The Blaze or Roam) and Tim Minchin is an incredibly funny musician/comedian go on this link, it has a couple of videos http://www.therockstarga...ts&m=83913#post83913

I'm guessing you've hit Ozzfest once or twice, eh? Anyway, I'm kinda on the same boat, been to too many concerts to remember, probably seen The Black Dahlia Murder 30+ times (no life).

Yeah I always tend to hit the big festivals; Ozzfest, Mayhem, Summer Slaughter, etc. But nothing beats a good band in a small club. I'm going to the Sleep reunion tour next month. But first I have American Carnage Dancing

I can't really remember all the shows I've been to. Been quite a lot since my first in November 2002 though. Not quite hundreds because of the hassle of getting to Glasgow for gigs where I used to stay before moving here but a fair few. I'll try list the ones I remember.

Cathedral with Electric Wizard
Anthrax
Anthrax
Motorhead with Sepultura
Anthrax again
Porcupine Tree at least 3 times
Opeth 3 times
Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity
Clutch on their own twice.
Rolo Tomassi at least twice.
Emperor at the London Astoria
Faith No More
Download Festival 2006 (headlined by Tool, Metallica, & Guns 'n' Roses)
Supersonic Festivals 07 & 08
All Tomorrow's Parties Festival in December 2009 with Modest Mouse, Battles, SunnO))), The Breeders, Shellac, The Magic Band & others.
Damnation Festivals '05, '06, '07, '08, '09 & looking forward to '10 in November (It's a wee all dayer that some friends put on in Leeds, started in Manchester the first two years. Headliners were Raging Speedhorn, The Haunted, Kreator, Carcass, & Life of Agony. Oddly I only actually saw the last two of those headliners, watching Entombed instead of RSH, Akercocke in 06, & Anaal Nathrakh in 07. And I also watched more of Cathedral on the third stage in 08 than I watched of Carcass. But LoA were fucking amazing, managed to get right up to the barrier, sing to all my favourites!)
There's goodness knows how many others. Soilwork, Avengend Sevenfold (worst band I've ever seen, or at least they were until I witnessed Alestorm), Mistress, Send More Paramedics, and bollockloads of other metal bands you've never heard of.

Not to mention going to watch a fair few pish local bands, and good friends bands like Circle of Tyrants, Scumface & so forth.

That's all.

God, reading forkboy's comment reminded me of just how god awful Soilwork is, especially live, not much that can get worse, except maybe some hellish metalcore smorgasbord festival, of which there are too many.

I've seen worse. They were OK, inoffensive, but the support of Mnemic were better.

I've been to loaaads, next one coming up is Reading Festival next weekend, which will be great! Looking forward to The Libertines, Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age and Villagers most. I've also got Foals and The Drums booked for later in the year which will be good too. Top of my list to see is Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst/Monsters of Folk though, I'm sure Lewis would agree..

As far as NeverShoutNever / Christofer Drew goes, he writes decent pop songs, and as he's not really trying to do anything other than that, I say well done to the guy. He's an example of someone who started playing in their bedroom and through social networking became pretty huge.

Too many to name all of them, but I do remember seeing Sunn O))) & Boris' Altar performance in London December 2007, in which Earth played, then Boris, then Sunn O)), then Sunn O))) and Boris. Then, I saw Earth in Glasgow a couple of months later. Then I saw Earth again at Supersonic 2008 in July in Birmingham, and then a few days later back in Glasgow, bringing the total times I've seen Earth up to five, four of which were in an 8 month stretch. I nearly saw Earth again here in Glasgow, but I missed it for various reasons.

Other memorable gigs?

David Byrne last March at the Royal Concert Hall.

Porn, Flipper, Big Business, Melvins, at the Garage December 2006.

Do Make Say Think, May 2007.

Both Supersonics (07, 08).

Canterbury Fayre 2003 (Love with Arthur Lee doing Forever Changes, Robert Plant, Bob Weir's Ratdog, Richard Sinclair and Theo Travis, Nik Turner's Spaceritual.net).

Akron/Family at Captain's Rest last May.

Kayo Dot, performing as drumless alter-egos Tartar Lamb - because immigration issues prevented two band members from entering the UK - last October. Shame not to see the mighty KD, but on the other hand, there would have been almost zero chance of me ever hearing the Tartar Lamb material performed live if not for this unfortunate occurrence. And ultimately, without that happening, they would likely not have been recording Tartar Lamb 2 just now, which we the fans funded through Kickstarter. Serendipity. Also, must have been a hard tour for Toby Driver considering his partner had just died of breast cancer, and the new material was about her.
