I'm from Scotland but my passport says I'm British, but even including Welsh and English groups the vast majority of my favourite bands are foreign anyway. Mostly from Scandinavia or America.

Katatonia - Swedish doom metal, but kinda with a 80s goth influence, if that makes sense.
Reverend Bizarre - Finnish doom metal

Life of Agony - US hardcore band
Modest Mouse - American indie type thing
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Canadian post-rock
Alcest - French post-rock meets black metal
That's just a short selection, stinking to more contemporary groups who are still together. |
