Okay, so some people have got very strong feelings about this and personal issues with it, so please try to step into their shoes before you say anything and think if its going to be offensive. I'm not trying to start a war here, so DONT argue to the point people get upset.

This will, probebly get locked, however I think people should talk about these things and I believe that you all have the maturity to keep the situation under control.

Right.

What do you think we should do? Forget about it completely? Remember it? Stop everything and think? I think theres a certain line with things like this and remembering them and whether or not you should mourn for years upon end or just mourn once and then relax.

Talk, peoplez.

(I know its ages away but after the argument on the other thread I realised its an interesting topic to discuss).

Of course people shouldn't have to forget it and get over it, it was intensely traumatic for thousands and thousands of people. Thousands died. It should be remembered and people should be allowed to do it in their own private way whether that be quiet reflection at home or actually at ground zero on the anniversary. Many will mourn the date every year for obvious reasons. It's an individuals choice on how they should approach it. People still reflect upon D-Day, Pearl Harbour and so on.

This is my personal opinion, to be honest, but its interesting to hear what others have to say.

I think we should remember the day, those who are still hurt, let them heal. It is normal to feel hurt. All I ask for is respect toward this day, because a family member along with thousands of Americans died.

Edit: Some people take this as a joke til this day and those people better go to hell.

If you're trying to call me out I don't take it as a joke.I just think we shouldn't make a GIANT deal about it.If a relative, hell yeah throw the biggest memorial service you can think of.But other than that,I think we should have like a moment of silence, and that's about it.

The only war/act of terror I think should be remembered on a super gigantic scale is Vietnam, 1.5 million soldiers died, and I think that was only Americans and our allies.Add another 20 thousand for the north vietnamese.

First of all ain't trying to call you out directly at you only, Otherwise I would of said Nimrods specifically, cuz you know I ain't afraid to speak my mind. I was speaking in general. No one is making this a big deal, because it is already a BIG deal, I hate your attitude towards this, "Oh bid deal" you obviously don't care. Cuz if you did you wouldn't said that. Tell you me your mom died 7 years ago and let me say "Oh big deal". to see how it feels.

My mom tried to kill herself 4 times does that count.Your mom also didn't die you said your Aunt did and I said I was sorry about that. And if you're trying to be serious at least write words the full way.And if my mom died 7 years ago,I would've gotten over it.I would put flowers on her grave on her birthday, mothers day, and most likely once a month in general and I would try to remember her for the good things but I wouldn't still be sulking.

We remember ww2 as a whole not 1 battle. But if we did yeah d-day would be remembered big but we remember it because it was a victory and we were outnumber not for fatalities because more axis were killed than allies. But since the axis army was twice the size of the allies that's pretty impressive.

i think we should debate it, and the consequences of it... But personally i think a lot of people make to much of a big deal about it and throw it into your face, Which is veyr wrong and insulting to those that died....

However we do need t put some perspective on this...
2,974 people died on 11/9/2001

a direct result of this has been
11,760 - 31,357 civillian deaths in Afganistan
92,489 – 100,971 civillian deaths in Iraq.

steph, your not afraid to speak your mind, but the same goes for other people. And we all have different opinions, especially on a subject like this.. The world trade centre was a terrible terrible thing to happen, and it is upsetting deaply to me that it did.... However it has been tarred and blackend by the USA's response to this...

In hindsight, their response has seemed to have been more of a 'revenge' style response (well who wouldn't want to kick some arse after that) but one that wasn't overly well planned and the consequences thought through

THANK YOU RINCE!That's what I've been trying to tell her, I told her that in the question thread! We kill thousands of civilians every month! And that happens to them every month. It's not just 9/11 it's september as a whole. They can't even mourn a day it would have to be a year or rather 7 years.

Ok, we have the right to talk about it, but I just want a little respect for it, It's all I'm asking. My tia died because she working in the center that day. And for him to say oh big deal I find very disrespectful and hurts me to see someone especially an American say that.

I said it's not as bad as it was when it happened..Now say 9/11/02, that would still be serious because it was only a year after. We'll always remember and respect the day but it's not as serious as it used to be.People hate America so they attack us,we kill 100,000 of them, it's over.On a scale of how many of us died compared to them, 10 times more people died that weren't American because of it.I don't remember 9/11 for the trade center which is still awful, I remember 9/11 for the aftermath,. that's all I have to say, if you have more beef pm me, I'm not getting another thread locked.
