I mean, GNR had a legendary guitarist Slash, and the notorious Axl Rose. So did RATM, Tom Morello and Zach de la Roca. Both bands split. Both groups excluding singers went on to form a new bands, Audioslave for RATM and Velvet Revolver for GNR with both having a grunge singer, for Velvet Revolver-Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, Audioslave-Chris Cornell of Soundgarden. Kinda ironic right?

RATM was the biggest in the mid 90's they only made 3 albums, no way they're eally legendary, or similar to GNR

Axl Rose to front Aerosmith for a couple of years and Steven Tyler to work with the original GNR lineup apart from Axl. Random I know.
