RYAN ROSS HERNANDEZ RETURNS WITH HOLLYWOOD HILLS ASSASSIN / ROYAL PAINS ON JUNE 8, 2010

FIRST SINGLE "CITY MADE OF VULTURES" IS A SUBTLE ANTHEM THAT CHALLENGES CONVENTION, A KEEP YOUR HEAD OVER WATER ANTHEM... - first single to be released on March 23rd.

(New York, NY – March. 07, 2010) -- Ryan Ross Hernandez's third and fourth studio albums Hollywood Hills Assassin and Royal Pains will be released on June 8th, 2010 on Spice Records. The four-time Birdies/International Music Award winner's third and fourth studio album's were co-produced by Ryan Ross Hernandez and Gabriel Hunter with additional treatment from Regan Futrell and debut almost a year-in-a-half after his multi-platinum selling 2009 album, Dark Secret Love. Incorporating the warmth, melodies and simplicity of 70's and 80's blues-rock, both Hollywood Hills Assassin and Royal Pains are confessionals, relaxed and liberated album recorded in a private home in California where Hernandez lived and worked over the course of over a year before wrapping at the famed Capitol Studios in Los Angeles.

The album's first single, "City Made of Vultures" challenges conventional standards of what one can accomplish or undertake - despite society's constraints. Hollywood Hills Assassin also showcases universal themes on "Philosophy on People," "Life Is a Ferris Wheel," and "Belief Is What We're Fighting For," while flexing guitar chops on "Medication for the Blues," and a tribute to California rock/pop of the 70's and 80's on "The Half-Hearted Lover."

"I approach music like a director doing a period piece," says Hernandez. "Where Dark Secret Love was Blues/rock and Pop, Hollywood Hills Assassin and Royal Pains were written with the timelessness of Tom Petty, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton in mind. The melodies and message are concise and from-the-gut with the efficiency of simplicity."

"Both albums are connected and instead of having fans wait 2 years for the conclusion of the one album leaves cliff-hanged, I said 'Hell, let's release both at the same exact time," says Hernandez about releasing both albums simultaneously. "They aren't concept albums but they all univeral themes that anyone can relate to. Above anything they are about life. Mostly the shitty stuff in life but it has its moments where the sunrises and you can see a bit of sunlight at the end of the tunnel. I'd call it my lessons learned of the last 2 years or so."

A Ryan Ross Hernandez North American tour is currently being planned and will follow the release of Hollywood Hills Assassin / Royal Pains in Summer 2010, details to be announced soon. In the meantime, three rare performances of Ryan Ross Hernandez playing on his own without a backing band, have been announced for March and April – March 28th in New York City at the Beacon Theatre, April 1st in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre, and a concluding show on April 3rd in Las Vegas at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

In place of Hernandez's annual Charity Revue, these concert events will raise money for two charities – Somaly Mam Foundation and NRDC – the Natural Resources Defense Council. Somaly Mam Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating the global sex slave trade through the rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration of the victims and through raising global awareness on the issue. NRDC helps create environmental laws and solve environmental issues such as curbing global warming, getting toxic chemicals out of the environment, moving America beyond oil, reviving our oceans, saving wildlife and wild places, and helping China go green. By combining the grassroots power of over a million members, online activists and the expertise of hundreds of lawyers, scientists and other professionals.

ABOUT RYAN ROSS HERNANDEZ - The consistency with which Ryan Ross Hernandez combines wordcraft and melody has earned him rarefied status in popular culture as a genuine and respected songwriter and musician. Since his soloist acclaimed debut in 2007 with Matters of the Heart, each release has earned Ryan Ross Hernandez additional accolades. Through 2009's Dark Secret Love, his work with PANIC! since 2004, and now, Hollywood Hills Assassin, Ryan Ross Hernandez has established himself as a musician and collaborator who exceeds genre boundaries. The guitarist, vocalist and songwriter has earned four International Music Awards and sold nearly 12.5 million albums worldwide and over 22 million singles.

In May 2007, Time Magazine placed Ryan Ross Hernandez on their Time 100 list of the most influential contemporary thinkers, leaders, artists and entertainers. For two consecutive years, Rolling Stone Magazine featured Ryan Ross Hernandez on the cover of their annual "Guitar" issue - first with the May 2009 "Living Guitar Legends" issue and then as part of February 2007's "Guitar Heroes" round-ups featuring Hernandez with peers and icons alike. In addition Hernandez graced the cover of Rolling Stone, by himself, on March 2010.

Pairings with a range of artists are a defining trait of the musician whose collaborative streak is well-known. From rock to blues, hip-hop to jazz to country. As on Dark Secret Love, Ryan Ross Hernandez again took the helm as the co-producer of Hollywood Hills Assassin and Royal Pains, his third and fourth studio albums-to-be, which will be released June, 8, 2010.

Leon (Green Leaf): Horrible! I really don't like what I read. I'm very disappointed since all the mayor hype that was given. I mean of course I haven't listened to the album since it hasn't come out but I can already tell its going to be horrible with the collaborations mentioned. Seems like the easiest way to make money or sell albums. Not pleased at all.

"You know what kid? I was like that when I started my career in PANIC!, I thought every big artist sold out and forgot their roots. Which when I was able to comprehend that, it was jealous that I wasn't anything more than just a scene star. Wait a couple of years, when and if you ever get big fans will back stab you and start saying you sold-out. I mean, there is a certain standard you gotta reach before you have the right to criticize others music, without even hearing it. All I've heard from you guys, is name dropping me to get you sales to raise. Have you even released an album?

I have this theory that no matter what I do musically, if you already hate my personality you won't let my music change your mind and say 'Hey this guy might be an asshole but he makes some pretty good music,' you either love my music and my personally or you just hate me overall there is no in-between. Be the biggest fucking douche you want when you actually hear the albums, don't judge a record and say it is shit based off a fucking press release.

Who said I hate your personality, unless you’re talking Maria who thinks you’re a prick. She also thinks you are a drama queen. However, excuse me for having an opinion about you’re very “Sell-out” album. And it’s funny how you mention “name dropping” to increase sales. Do I need to remind you about your very attention whoring rolling stones Interview *giggles*. Also, I know how “collaborations” work. I’m not stupid “Hey here, want be on my songs?, I’ll have you, you and…..you……..$$$$$”. I don’t have to be a portfolio of #1 hits to judge your album. Because you know what they say about #1 hits these days on the charts and radio ;) Anyway, Instead of maybe being the drama queen that you are maybe you should take what you call “jealousy” to mold you. And I am not whatsoever jealous of you, why would I be? I have all I ever wanted. Making my music and performing it. That’s all I ever want from this not fame unlike you. So I have nothing to be jealous about. But that’s okay I guess, since not everyone makes music because they love it. So if you are claiming that I’m jealous, then you are very wrong kid. Now if you excuse us, we appreciate you took time out of your busy schedule to respond to a band who hasn’t even released an album, but we battle of the bands to do. - Leon

What an utterly stupid thing to say. How can you say certain collaborations can be horrible? Sure, you can have an educated guess, but it's hardly a definite as you put it across. My god your such a moron.
