‘Underneath The Blue Moonlight’ is the debut studio album by the British pop-rock duo ‘Pretty Little Freaks’, set to be released on June 10th 2012 on Chaos Records. It follows their debut E.P from October 2, 2011 titled ‘Memoirs Of A Freak’ which served as an introduction to the London born sisters, peaking at #4 on the album charts and going on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide it built anticipation and expectation on the shoulders of the pop-rock duo and with three hits singles under their belt and a live performance at Total Annihilation earlier this year, they were quickly making a name for themselves.
They’ve spent the majority of 2012 working on the music that would eventually form their debut album and now the wait is finally over, the album has been given a summer release date of June 16th 2012.

Background

‘Pretty Little Freaks’ recorded their debut E.P in a small recording studio in London in September 2011 and self-released the E.P in October 2011, they had already began to generate a buzz within the music industry but were still without a record deal at the time, however the E.P became a word of mouth success and interest in the twins came in the form of ‘Chaos Records’ who signed them just after the release of the E.P, although there was only three songs included on the E.P it created a positive impression, the girl’s short and fiery pop-rock tracks proving to be a hit with teenagers in the UK and US and with the release of another two singles, the Christmas effort ‘Greatest Time Of Year’ and the collaborative effort, ‘Little Heaven (feat. Aaron Marks)’ it appeared that a bright future was ahead of Pretty Little Freaks.

Early in the year they headed into rehearsals studios in Los Angeles, California where they spent a number of weeks working on the majority of songs that would be included in their debut album, working closely to perfect the songs that they felt should be featured on their debut album they then headed into a recording studio where they worked closely with producer Phil N. for the majority of the last three months. The album continues on from the pop-rock sound that became evident on their ‘Memoirs Of A Freak’ E.P but also includes more of an indie pop sound influenced by JJ Heller, Broken Bells and Death Cab For Cutie.

They also show their difference in styles throughout the album, Jade preferring to find the melodic pop sounds in their music while Mia adds the guitar wielding rocker chick image that we heard on their debut single ‘Hell For Leather.’
The album features a lyrical mix of emotional songs about love and sadness as well as more upbeat tracks about enjoying the pleasures of youth and freedom while you still can. Instrumentally the album is primarily guitar based but they never veer too far into rock and remain to their melodic pop routes throughout, there’s also an inclusion of keyboards, synthesizers, drums and bass throughout the album.
So after taking time to craft an album with their own musical imprint throughout and following the positive critical and commercial reaction of their debut E.P and subsequent singles, will the ‘Pretty Little Freaks’ prove that they have staying power in the music industry and will their debut album be worth the wait?

Name: 1. Apology
Length: 3:47
Written By: Mia Clark

Description
Apology is a fast-paced guitar song, it’s energy is quick and relentless, rarely giving the listener much time to relax into the song, it’s punchy lyrics are matched with the rapid quick-fire guitar playing from the two girls and the drum beat adds to the song to create the three main elements that not only define the song but the majority of the girls music to date, similar to ‘Hell For Leather from their debut E.P it’s lyrics are catchy in particular the chorus lyrics which are simple yet memorable and relatable, “I don’t need your apology/I’ve heard it so much, it’s lost all meaning to me” shows the very extent of the songs theme, it’s about disappointment and that all too familiar search for the real thing, true love if you will.
It’s not exactly a song about the perfect relationship but instead a song about a difficult relationship, it’s about being in a relationship with someone who struggles to show their real emotions and often hides their heart away as the lyrics suggest, “I believe I could occupy your heart/But you hide it away so much” it shows not only a songwriting maturity but a musical maturity too as they manage to combine catchy pop hooks with punchy jagged guitar riffs.

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

Another long day of silence
I can feel you slipping out of sight
I don’t think I can hold on much longer
And I don’t think everything’s gonna be alright

We’ve been fading away for a while now
And I tried not to see the truth in front of my eyes
But this loneliness, yeah this loneliness is proof
And this won’t come as a surprise

We can’t hold on forever
For something that doesn’t exist no more
I can’t pretend to feel love from you
It’s something you’ve forgotten to show

See, I don’t need your apology
I’ve heard it so much, it’s lost all meaning to me
You could promise that things would be different next time
But I know that’s a lie, no matter how hard you try
This is gonna be tough, your best just ain’t good enough

I believe I could occupy your heart
But you hide it away so much
It’s hard to find, can’t you see
I believe I could occupy your heart
If only you would let me

I can’t hold on to you forever
It’s too much pain and I think I deserve better
We were in love, I won’t ever doubt that
But sadly I don’t think that love is coming back

See, I don’t need your apology
I’ve heard it so much, it’s lost all meaning to me
You could promise that things would be different next time
But I know that’s a lie, no matter how hard you try
This is gonna be tough, your best just ain’t good enough

Name: 2. Bitterness! Anger! Confusion!
Length: 4:11
Written By: Mia Clark

Description
This is a song with even more anger than the previous effort, as the title alone suggests, it’s musical backdrop matches the emotions of the songs primary theme but once again it’s a track that is laden with catchy pop hooks with the soft rock guitar playing and drum backing that creates the perfect radio friendly type of song and the trade-off of vocals between both Mia and Jade provide a nice balance in the song, Jade’s tender melodic vocals feels gentle and emotional that could be compared to many pop contemporary’s and Mia’s slightly more aggressive sounding vocals give it the punchy rock edge that they often dabble in and out of, the instrumentation again creating the tone for the song with cymbals being crashed alongside the drum beat during the chorus to the guitar riff throughout.

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

I sit back and think about when you were here
I was so calm and you removed my fear
I think about all the times I could have cried
It happened to me the more and more I tried

Your kisses on my cheek felt different towards the end
The nights went by slowly and I just needed a friend
Your words, they cut so deep into my soul
I found myself praying that you’d catch me when I’d fall

But you didn’t do that
You let me fall straight down
You let me tumble to the ground
And I came to the conclusion

With the help of bitterness, anger and confusion
I left you in the rain that night
You thought that we were gonna be alright
But with bitterness, anger and confusion
I came to the conclusion

I’d rather feel alone in this world
Than have you mess with me again

And I’ll let you out of my life
But I’ll be fine, I’ll be fine tonight

But you didn’t do that
You let me fall straight down
You let me tumble to the ground
And I came to the conclusion

With the help of bitterness, anger and confusion
I left you in the rain that night
You thought that we were gonna be alright
But with bitterness, anger and confusion
I came to the conclusion
I’ll be better off without you

Description
This is a much more tender track, from its dreamy opening lines that create the imagery of one long perfect summer day into the second verse which takes on a more downtrodden view, lyrically it’s about a summer romance that fades as summer ends and winter appears “The summer fades into winter months/We were so unaware of what was in front of us/Turns out that our time can’t last, It’s shorter than we thought/A promise is broken in the letters that we wrote.”
It’s almost tailor made for a primarily teenage fanbase, the song starts off with a soft acoustic twang and gentle drumming but as it progresses and the emotion of the song becomes sadder then the acoustic is replaced by a more emotional piano section and the keys of the piano echo perfectly with the song’s lyrics, but as we arrive at the final verse the emotion is pushed further, the vocals become louder with more urgency and the song ends unexpectedly.

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

The sky was blue when I was here with you
We shared our days, caught up in our own special ways
We’d laugh and cry and we’d dance and fight
But you’d pull me close and hold me tight
Underneath the stars so bright

The summer fades into winter months
We were so unaware of what was in front of us
Turns out that our time can’t last, It’s shorter than we thought
A promise is broken in the letters that we wrote

No matter how hard we’d try
It’s obvious that I was gonna cry
No matter how hard we’d try
This was always gonna end in a long goodbye

You’d pull me close and hold me tight
Underneath the stars so bright
Yeah, you’d pull me close and hold me tight
Underneath the blue moonlight
Yeah, you’d hold me tight
Underneath the blue moonlight

All we have is hope and a heart full of dreams
That follow me like a shadow now
I pray every night that I get to see your face
Someday, somewhere, somehow, someplace

But those days are done, like our own setting sun
While our tears will dry over time someday
And until then, I’ll learn to stay away
Until then, I’ll learn to stay away

And I’ll wait for you to return someday

You’d pull me close and hold me tight
Underneath the stars so bright
Yeah, you’d pull me close and hold me tight
Underneath the blue moonlight
Yeah, you’d hold me tight
Underneath the blue moonlight

Name: 4. (That’s When I See) You Were Made For Me
Length: 4:02
Written By: Mia Clark

Description
The song begins with a quiet and emotional piano introduction, the full effect of echo proving to add to the feeling of the song as the sound of the keys continue. A soft drum beat is then introduced to the song as the opening lyrics of the song arrive and are sung softly and emotionally by Jade, the introduction of a guitar appears with the sharp striking sound of the chords but the feelings remains soft and tender.
As the music progresses but remains at a relatively calm pace the vocals from Jade remain soft while the vocals from Mia have a slightly more aggressive sound but the vocal trade off on the final verse gives the song it’s best moment, “When I look around and I see no spark/Nothing bright enough to ignite my heart/When there’s no light that flickers in the dark/And this place is tearing me apart/That’s when I see/You were made for me” the differing vocal style’s even more apparent.

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

Nothing ever seemed so simple
Nothing I had ever seemed to last
Everything that I ever wanted has gone
And it’s gone away with you into the past

My tears fall on the bed we shared
Your smell still lingers in the air
Then I stumble upon your picture
And wish that you were still there

But now everything is so clear to me
Nothing in this life is easy

Nothing ever comes for free
So when you have it don’t ever let it part

When I look around, I see no spark
Nothing bright enough to ignite my heart
When there’s no light that flickers in the dark
Well this place is just tearing me apart

When the day fades and darkness descends
I’ll look for you when I’m in search of a friend

And I know you’ll be there when this comes to the end
I know you’ll be the one that will fight and defend

When the wind blows over November skies
When you tell me your dirty little lies
When you pull me close and look into my eyes
That’s when I realize you were made for me

Since we grew apart it’s made me see
That there’s no one else that can make me happy
The answers were there all along
I was just too blind to see
You were made for me

When I look around and I see no spark
Nothing bright enough to ignite my heart
When there’s no light that flickers in the dark
And this place is tearing me apart
That’s when I see
You were made for me

Name: 5. While I Smile (Don’t Think I’m Happy)
Length: 2:58
Written By: Mia Clark

Description
The next song is completely sung by Mia as she takes her solo song, but the acoustic guitar playing that can be heard in combination with the vocals is performed by Jade, it’s the tender twang of the strings that set the pace of the song, it’s slightly emotional and regretful lyrics are performed pretty well by Mia and the bellowing echo sound that appears midway through the song makes it feel even more emotional and eerie. It’s lyrics are about someone afraid to feel anything remotely real and although she may seem happy to everyone the truth is that she’s hiding her emotions well. It’s primarily an acoustic song and the acoustic guitar playing by Jade complements Mia’s vocals perfectly.

Lyrics

Mia = Black

So you, think that I’m heartless
and you left me, down and broken hearted
my tears they, didn’t used to dry on their own
but they’ve learned to now that I’m alone

So many couples they pass me by
I’m wondering why can’t I
Have that feeling once more
But instead you walked out of the door

So while I smile, don’t think I’m really happy
I’ve learned to, hide the real me
So while I smile, don’t think I’m truly happy
because I’ve learned to, hide the real me

So many couples they pass me by
I stare at them and I wonder why
I can’t have that feeling once more
You killed my hope
When you walked out of the door

I don’t know, what’s real to me these days
I’m struggling, to know why you went away
my friends, they all said this would pass in time
but there’s nothing, they can say or do
there’s no one, I want but you

So many couples they pass me by
I’m wondering why can’t I
Have that feeling once more
But instead you walked out of the door

So while I smile, don’t think I’m really happy
I’ve learned to, just hide the real me
So while I smile, don’t think I’m truly happy
Because I’ve learned to, hide the real me

Name: 6. Dancing In The Sun
Length: 4:42
Written By: Mia Clark

Description
An extremely more upbeat song appears to wash away the emotions of the previous track and encourages people to enjoy their life while they’re still young and able as the title suggests it’s a very upbeat song and the repetitive drum beats and energetic guitar playing enhance the enthusiastic nature of the song, it’s lyrics speak of a summer spent with friends while partying and the vocals are sang quickly as dictated by the rhyming scheme used in the song, it’s a track that doesn’t take itself too seriously and is almost like a call to arms for everybody to just have fun, it’s essentially a summer anthem if you will.
It’s energetic beats and catchy lyrics, “We’ll bathe in the heat and sing those songs/Like we’ve never felt so young/So turn the music up right now/We’ll start dancing in the sun/Whiskey and vodka/Skinny dipping in the sea/Let’s not think about tomorrow/This is how our life should be.” Shows a less emotional and more carefree side to the girls nature and leaves you hoping that this is perhaps the truer interpretation of how they choose to spend their time.

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

Riding down the freeway with the wind blowing my hair
Music blasting through the speakers when we don’t have a care
The heat beats down on me and my friends, we’re all laughing and having fun
Summers here and the heat wave is on
We’re gonna be dancing in the sun

Doing seventy five down the highway with smiles upon our face
We’ll just keep driving on that lonesome road until we arrive at our special place
The river bank where all of our friends will gather for a week of fun
Within an hour the drinks start flowing
And we’ll be dancing in the sun

Some friends will gather on the dock and jump into the sea
Others sing those campfire songs because they’ve never felt so free
Some will sit and stare at the stars and wonder what they mean
Others find a secluded area for their own idea of fun
Some just down their vodka shots and start dancing in the sun

We’ll bathe in the heat and sing those songs
Like we’ve never felt so young
So turn the music up right now
We’ll start dancing in the sun

Whiskey and vodka
Skinny dipping in the sea
Let’s not think about tomorrow
This is how our life should be

See some friends will gather on the dock and they’ll jump into the sea
Others will sit and sing old campfire songs because they’ve never felt so free
Some will lay on the grass and stare at the stars above

No need to care about those idealistic views because this is what I call true love
So just let your hair down and remove your worries
Take a drink and have some fun
We’re all dancing in the sun

We’ll bathe in the heat and sing those songs
Like we’ve never felt so young
So turn the music up right now
We’ll start dancing in the sun

Whiskey and vodka
Skinny dipping in the sea
Let’s not think about tomorrow
This is how our life should be

Name: 7. Little Heaven (Escape) Ft. Aaron Marks
Length: 4:02
Written By: Jade Clark, Aaron Marks, Mia Clark

Description
A pounding bass line with keyboards and synths start you off on the beginning of this song. Joining the mix is an electric guitar with the sound of some vocalizing in the background from Jade and Mia. Jade begins to sing the first half of the verse. Her voice is in a low soprano like voice with a synth being heard in the background. Her voice takes a higher tone when she sings the last line, making the music take a shift and being more upbeat. Mia sings the next part of the verse, while Jade sings the Ooh's for the first and third lines of the verse. The keyboards and bass line come back in as they sing the chorus together. The bass really comes in more when Jade sings the line No, No, No!, she ends the last No in a soprano voice and the guitar plays at the end while going to the second verse. Aaron then sings the next verse as the tempo returns back to normal.

Mia's Comments
“I loved this song, it’s like a music infusion with Synths, Bass, Keyboards and Electric Guitar. Then Jade came up with the idea to have a guy sing on this track with us which was great and we somehow managed to get Aaron Marks to feature on the song which is kinda insane considering how he’s pretty much became the best male musician out there right now. It was really great to work with him on this track and the lyrics fit pretty perfectly, my sister really did an amazing job with the lyrics on this, I think it’s the best song from us so far and I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as we do”.

Jade's Comments
"This song is a perfect blend of voices and everyone fits right in with each other. I think what's unique about this song is it's sound, really haven't heard anything out now like this so I'm glad we got to distinguish our own sound. Aaron was nice enough to want to do the song with us and I love him for it because he really did a great job. I don't think anyone else could have taken his place so it's a match made in heaven. (Laughs) Me and Aaron wrote the song and basically the theme is about sometimes using someone just to escape from your own problems, almost like leading the other person on. I'm just really grateful for this opportunity to work with someone like Aaron."

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Aaron Marks = Red
Together = Black

Must have heard it half a dozen times
It's getting hard to tell the truths from lies
I promise not to make you scared
Always doing what you've never dared

(Ooh) Tell the people that I have come
Let them see me in the rising sun

(Ooh) Trying hard to make it last forever
Combination of our love together

So come on baby
Let's just close our eyes
Let the life that you've been living
Never pass you by
No, No, No!
Just take me to that perfect place
It can be our little heaven
Or maybe it's your escape

It can be our little heaven
Or maybe it's just your escape

I don’t want to have to make things right
But don’t want to regret tonight
Easy to say that I don’t take chances
Never left you alone at late night dances

(Ooh) Tell the people that I have come
Let them see me in the rising sun

(Ooh) Trying hard to make it last forever
Combination of our love together

So come on baby
Let's just close our eyes
Let the life that you've been living
Never pass you by
No, No, No!
Just take me to that perfect place
It can be our little heaven
Or maybe it's your escape

It can be our little heaven
Or maybe it's just your escape

Take a ride, Take a ride
Journey in hand
Take my life, Take my life
The story begins

Hold on Tight, Hold on Tight
Don't let me down
Make it Right, Make it Right

No worry found
No worry found
No worry found

So come on baby
Let's just close our eyes
Let the life that you've been living
Never pass you by
No, No, No!
Just take me to that perfect place
It can be our little heaven
Or maybe it's your escape

(It's your escape)

So come on baby
Let's just close our eyes
(Close your eyes)
Let the life that you've been living
Never pass you by
No, No, No!
Just take me to that perfect place

(No, No, No!)
Just take me to that perfect place
(Whoooa, Whooa!)
Just take me to that perfect place
It can be our little heaven
Or maybe it's your escape

It can be our little heaven

Name: 8. Contradiction
Length: 3: 44
Written By: Jade Clark, Paul Epworth, Phil N.

Description
Starting off with a light piano and Jade's light vocals, Contradiction is a very mellow, relaxed song. With it's slow tempo and low mood, Jade manages to capture the listener's attention and keeps it throughout the song. This is one of Jade's strong points, writing soft, delicate, emotional songs that really touch the listener. She hits all the notes perfectly and captivates with her beautiful voice. Going into the chorus, the tempo changes a little, picking up more. She then does a solo in between each verse before going into the next one. The second singing of the chorus, speeds the tempo up more, the full band kicking in. A various mix of drums, guitars, and Jade's piano playing give the song a more rock feel. She ends the song with a long, high note, the music and tempo slowing down.

Jade's Comments
"I feel that this song is one of my favorites on the album. It was really easy for me to write as a songwriter and the simple message is reachable to anyone. It's about instead of going forward, a person moves backwards and they are contradicting themselves when they say they will go forward but only take the steps to go back. It's something that I'm guilty of doing because I've wanted to move on from things but didn't do what I needed to do to go forward."

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

Everyday I see a fantasy of you and me
I get frightened
Unknown destiny
I used to dream about the stars
Until they got too far, away
I'll never live the same again
No regrets and no fear

Now I am running back
To that same place as before
A contradiction to my claim
Now I am running back
To that same place as before again
A contradiction to my claim

Never again will I spend my time
Wanting you
Feels like a crime
That ship has sailed too far, away
I'll never live the same again
No regrets and no fear

Now I am running back
To that same place as before
A contradiction to my claim
Now I am running back
To that same place as before again
A contradiction to my claim

Do you remember all those lies from the past?
A newly growing one of how long we'd last
But now you know

Now I am running back
To that same place as before
A contradiction to my claim
Now I am running back
To that same place as before again
A contradiction to my claim

Name: 9. Lose That Feeling
Length: 3:30
Written By: Jade Clark, Paul Epworth

Description
An uptempo, electro-pop song is how the next track starts for Pretty Little Freaks. Jade's soft and delicate voice starts off singing the first verse. She sings in a low, soft voice which gets higher by the end of the verse, into the pre-chorus. Her voice becomes edgy and hard, leading into the chorus where her sister Mia joins in. The two voices complementing each other very well, making each voice stand out at their due times. Mia's edgy voice blends in with the music behind her. The pre-chorus for her sounds a bit different from when Jade sang it but nonetheless it sounds like a true rocker. The two join again for the chorus and the pre-chorus where Jade sets out to be different from Mia, getting the higher note and almost overshadowing Mia in the part. They then both again sing the chorus, as the song fades out with the music.

Jade's Comments
"I wrote this song about 4 months ago and it was a poem that I had wrote while I was in school and I never finished it which is why I turned it into a song. The song is basically talking about being unleashed in a sense. It's about that adrenaline rush you get whenever you were with someone who seemed bad or dangerous. It really ignites a spark in yourself which you feel like you want forever and you don't want the feeling to go away. It makes sense because, again, I've experienced this and there's just something mesmerizing about someone that you shouldn't be with or you can't have. I guess once you get hooked on something it's hard to go back to normal."

Jade's Comments

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

In your arms, In your arms
I will stay
Forever dreaming of
That day
Possible words that
Can be said
Possible moments running
Through my head

Light my fire tonight
Give me that passion I've always wanted

Let's remember every hug
Take a picture of every kiss
Cus I don't wanna forget a moment like this
Tell the world all about our love
When my heart starts healing
Baby I don't wanna lose that feeling

But at night, But at night
You'll soon not see
All the time I was right
Epiphany
Possible things I could say
Right to you
All the crazy assumptions
That we drew

Light my fire tonight
Give me that passion that I've always wanted

Let's remember every hug
Take a picture of every kiss
Cus I don't wanna forget a moment like this
Tell the world all about our love
When my heart starts healing
Baby I don't wanna lose that feeling

Light my fire tonight (And always)
Give me that passion that I've always wanted

Let's remember every hug
Take a picture of every kiss
Cus I don't wanna forget a moment like this
Tell the world all about our love
When my heart starts healing
Baby I don't wanna lose that feeling

Let's remember every hug
Take a picture of every kiss
Cus I don't wanna forget a moment like this
Tell the world all about our love
When my heart starts healing
Baby I don't wanna lose that feeling

Name: 10. Farewell
Length: 4:45
Written By: Jade Clark

Description
An uptempo, acoustic inspired song starts the track for Farewell. Written solely by Jade Clark, it's simple sound gives it a complex meaning. Starting off with what sounds like Jade humming, it goes straight into the singing where Jade's soft voice comes into play. She sings with a bit more meaning and feeling in this song which almost sounds like a blues inspiration in her voice. With the 3 guitar solos throughout the song, this gives us a chance to hear just how well Jade is with her own guitar skills. She jumps back into singing with a heavenly voice that sounds almost similar to a young Joss Stone's but with a little lesser soulfulness and more giddiness. Almost sounding like a happy, comforting song, Jade gives more insight on the meaning of the lyrics.

Jade's Comments
"Farewell is a storytelling song. I wrote it after reading some old war books and watching war movies for some reason. It really inspired me to write a story using those sources. It's about a soldier going off to war, the unraveling of it. It starts off with them being happy and loving each other and it's not until the lines We smell the raindrops about to hit, that it goes into the process of him having to leave and leave her behind. They try to not show their true feelings, their fear but it inevitably shows. The last line is referring to him leaving her and he dies but she never got to say farewell to him because she thought he would come back so she just didn't say anything at all."

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red

Come hold my hand, take a ride with me
I'll show you wonders you've never seen
Under the ocean, around the way
Into the park where children play

Let me love you, till the sun goes down
Turn that sad face the other way 'round
Under the ocean, around the way
Into the park where children play

We smell the raindrops about to hit
No bad times will not exist
Under then ocean, around the way
Into the park where children play

Ahh, Ahh
Ahh, Ahh

The fire's burning in our eyes
We've learned that sadness can be disguised
Under the ocean, around the way
Into the park where children play
Your time has ended, time to say goodbye
You tell me when I'm lonely look at the sky
Those last few moments, for me, are now hell
You said goodbye but I never got to say
Farewell

Name: 11. Hold On Tight
Length: 4:55
Written By: Jade Clark

Description
Electric guitars, bass, keyboard, synth, drums, what else does this song not have? Starting the last track of the album, Pretty Little Freaks leaves us with a very uptempo, anthem like song for all girls. Starting with Jade's edgy, almost raspy-like voice, the song is clearly not the soft, delicate tone that we're used to her singing. This rock, electro song really raises the spirits of the often moody and depressive state the girls sing in. If you want a song that really spotlights Mia and Jade's vocals, Hold On Tight is the perfect one. Their mixture of pop and rock gives them the boost they need in proving themselves to the industry. The two colliding for the chorus really sends chills down ones spine with the amount of passion the two sing with. Mia also impresses with her verse, giving the dangerous edge she's always had. When the two separate for the bridge, the music is paused while hand claps are heard and a tambourine being played. A choir heard singing the Hold on tight while the other two bounce off each other singing back and forth which then leads back into the band playing again. The two keep singing with the choir and the song fades out.

Jade's Comments
"This is my second favorite song on the album. It's a really aggressive yet fun song. It's mostly about being in a bad relationship with someone and not having to put up with their crap and getting revenge because in the words of fellow rocker Lily, 'Revenge is sweeter than making up'. It's really a sort of anthem for not taking just anything a guy gives you when they feed you those sweet lines and say how they love you. It's really for girls and or women to stand up for themselves, something that I personally struggle with, but it's telling the guy to hold on tight because we're going to give them a run for their money and not them get off easy with what they do."

Lyrics

Jade = Dark Red
Mia = Purple
Together = Black

When you wake up, up I hope that you remember me
When you get up, up I hope you hear the words I speak
The fun's just begun and it's gonna be a bumpy ride
So you better
When you look up, up I hope that it's me you see
When you screw up, up I hope she'll be ready to compete
And the fun's just begun and it's gonna be a bumpy ride
So you better hold on tight

Hold on tight
Yeah it's gonna be a bumpy ride so you better
Hold on tight, Hold on tight
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
That you're well looken after
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
You get what you deserve

When we made love, love you said that I was the one
When we broke up, up you said that we were done
The fun's just begun and it's gonna be a bumpy ride
So you better
When we last touched, touched you said that it was better than
When we screwed up, up and you threw me in the lions den
And the fun's just begun and it's gonna be a bumpy ride
So you better hold on tight

Hold on tight
Yeah it's gonna be a bumpy ride so you better
Hold on tight, Hold on tight
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
That you're well looken after
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
You get what you deserve

Oh-h-h, Just say it isn't so-o-o-o
And now you're begging on your knees
(Crocodile tears and meaningless pleas)
Oh-h-h, Just wanted you to kno-o-ow
The fun's just begun and it's gonna be

(A bumpy ri-i-i-de)

So you better (Hold on tight)
Hold on tight
Yeah you better (Hold on tight)
Hold on tight
Hold on tight

So you better hold on tight
Hold on tight
Yeah it's gonna be a bumpy ride so you better
Hold on tight, Hold on tight
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
That you're well looken after
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
You get what you deserve

Hold on tight
Yeah it's gonna be a bumpy ride so you better
Hold on tight, Hold on tight
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
That you're well looken after
Don't you worry about a thing I'll make sure
You get what you deserve

Nate: Ahoy there! The progress the two of you have made since breaking onto the scene with your debut EP is phenomenal. That's not saying your EP wasn't good, it was. This time around though it seems as though you have experimented with more genres and instruments to find your sound, which so happens to be anything which has the two of you singing on it! Really good, and you both took songwriting duties and both nailed your jobs at doing that. Great album.

OOC: Nice work! Some really good lyrics here.

Josh: I seem to remember a certain charming American came to London and told a beautiful twin that she should stop talking down about her own talents and skills. Turns out that funny speaking guy was right. This album is exactly what I hoped it would be for you guys. It is as clever as I thought it would be, as catchy as I knew it would be, and as perfect as I wanted it to be. PLF are going places, and I'm proud of that fact. This is just wonderful.
