Michelle's BlogHello everyone, it's Michelle here! I know that I took part in a Twitcam session with you all just a few days and I spoke about a few things then but I have some more news to tell you guys. Hopefully you aren't sick of the sight of me because I've been all over social media sites these past few days but it's because I love all you guys and I love connecting with you all! First of all, I want to start by saying that I am excited and extremely looking forward to flying out to Australia for Scott and Jennifer's wedding which is happening a week today! Tying the knot on Valentine's Day is one of the most romantic and sweetest things ever and I'm sure the ceremony will be wonderful. I promise to get as many pics of Jen looking stunning and Scott looking handsome as I possibly can! Being a couple in the spotlight can be hard. The media have their opinions and print them all the time and then you have the public judging your relationship based on what is printed. Then there are the jealous "fans" who will have very colourful opinions. However, I see how strong...haha, strong/Armstrong....never mind, I found it funny...Anyway, I've watched them both go from strength to strength and they haven't let anyone on the outside get in between them or influence them. They are such a lovely couple and I'm sure they'll have a long and happy marriage. Can't wait to party in Australia and enjoy the sunshine. My wedding was in December and although the snow looked lovely, walking about in it was far from fun, hehe! Now that I've been all soppy and got all teary while thinking about the wedding, it's time to get serious and down to business. Music. I have been working away for half a year on this new record and although I have an idea of my final tracklist, I am still leaving it open and I'm not locking everything down for a good few months yet. I started writing songs back in the summer and I must have caught a creative bug because I now have over 100 songs written! You know me, I am very impatient when it comes to my music and I just want to share it all with you Soldiers so having over 100 songs and not being able to share even a snippet of one was honestly killing me, haha! I then thought that one song wouldn't hurt, would it? After all, you are the best fans in the world and it's only fair that I reward your never ending support with a brand new song. As you all know, I like to experiment with my music. The first album was predominantly indie-pop, the second was more indie-rock inspired, the third was a mixture of pop and R&B so for the fourth one I wanted to infuse everything together to make a new sound. While the production style is similar to some of my past work, the themes and the lyrics in the majority of these new songs are different to anything I have written before but I wanted to show a different side to me. I promised you a little treat since I didn't sing on my Twitcam and I have to be honest with you all; I have been a little bit naughty. I was extremely impatient and actually leaked a new song a few days back but didn't tell anyone but now I have included to link to it below and you can download it for FREE! :D Everyone loves a freebie. Hope you all enjoy it. Hugs + kisses MichelleOOC: I was a little bit naughty with this one ;P
Artist: Michelle Title: Aggro Genre: Indie Pop, Indie Rock Length: 3:59 Written By: M.Hamilton Produced By: Make A Scene DESCRIPTION The song is a mid tempo indie rock/pop song from an English female vocalist. Rather than singing, she 'speak sings' throughout the entire song. The lyrics can be perceived as comical as many of the lines are not ones you hear in your average pop song. Lines such as "I remember when I went to meet your mother, she was such a moody cow, how could I forget?" may cause the listener to have a little chuckle but listening to the song in its entirety, you will realise there is a dark undertone throughout. The raw, live band, emotional and sometimes aggressive delivery from the female singer all add to the experience but it's the striking lyrics that really give the song its air of sadness. If you get past the comedic feel to it all, the song describes a very unhappy woman who is always unlucky in love. Every time she thinks she finds the man of her dreams, he either hurts her or he reveals a different side to his personality which she isn't particularly fond of. The verses and bridge are centered around one relationship in particular while the chorus makes references to that relationship and all the previous ones which have ended in heartache. During the last chorus, the female vocalist sings as though she has a lump in her throat and is truly at breaking point and about to give up trying once and for all. The song plays out with an escalating synth that slowly fades out, different to the raw sound of the drums, violin and piano used throughout the track. I remember how we met, at the bus stop on a gloomy Tuesday morning, how could I forget? Wearing a pair muddy trainers and a crooked smile, old tracksuit top, you clearly had no style Was drawn in by your boyish charm - just shy from eighteen, and in that moment I thought it was all meant to be If I had known what was coming, I would've walked away, left you like a drowned little rat in the pouring rain Thought that our carriage would come and whisk us of into the sunset, but I only had a bus pass to take me to a road filled with regret Skipping merrily through London town, a naive little girl dreaming of her fairy tale romance Thought I found my prince waiting on the number nine, he was just a fucked up guy wanting to get in my pants I don't need all this shit in my life, I just want to get on by Is it so fucking hard to meet a nice guy? One with no baggage or a screwed up life? Junkies, cheaters, scum and woman beaters, why do I seem to attract that type? Thieves, muggers, sleazy little fuckers or randy old men all over those dating sites I don't need all this aggro, aggro I don't need all this hassle, hassle Why can't it just be plain and simple? I can't deal with this aggro, aggroI remember when I went to meet your mother, she was such a moody cow, how could I forget? I clearly wasn't welcome and to this day I'm still offended, I wasn't good enough for a family that was fucking demented? Had enough from your mother then along came your sister, I swore to the judge I didn't hit her Her mouth was already too big which explains the fat lip, she found herself face down in all her bullshit Thought we'd live in our own castle live happily until the end, but you'd rather chase the dragon in this little crack den Wondering alone through London town, a silly little girl wishing upon a star Thought I find my prince if I searched hard enough, only found a guy who wanted a quickie in his car I don't need all this shit in my life, I just want to get on by Is it so fucking hard to meet a nice guy? One with no baggage or a screwed up life? Junkies, cheaters, scum and woman beaters, why do I seem to attract that type? Thieves, muggers, sleazy little fuckers or randy old men all over those dating sites I don't need all this aggro, aggro I don't need all this hassle, hassle Why can't it just be plain and simple? I can't deal with this aggro, aggroSo now you call me up on my phone, I guess you're feeling all alone "Babe, please come back, I've grown. Don't you miss all our inside jokes?" Remember when you shagged that waitress? Oh it was fucking hilarious You're right we had some great times Remember when I'd stay up all night? You'd stumble in, fresh from a fight Those really were the good old days.....yeah, right mate I don't need all this shit in my life, I just want to get on by Is it so fucking hard to meet a nice guy? One with no baggage or a screwed up life? Junkies, cheaters, scum and woman beaters, why do I seem to attract that type? Thieves, muggers, sleazy little fuckers or randy old men all over those dating sites I don't need all this aggro, aggro I don't need all this hassle, hassle Why can't it just be plain and simple? I can't deal with this aggro, aggroCan Be Compared To;
