Nina: you fucking super glued honor to the tv screen, love.

Erica: you complained when last time when it left tape marks. Problem solved.

Nina: well...honor is better to look at than the last person you taped to the tv....Wilfred brimley! ?

Honor: Nice. You get 100 points for creativity and another 100 points for still being my best friend even after bombing Nagasaki (sorry Japan!) :)

CHAOS AWARDS VII FASHION: BEST & WORST DRESSED

The 8th annual Chaos Awards were Saturday night and what an awards it was. There were a lot of shocking moments and even shocking fashion choices. Although, I can say there were a significantly amount of changes that appeared to some of last years offenders but then there were those stubborn ones who just didn't take my advice at all and ended up looking worse than last year. Overall, I was impressed with some of the risks being taken and I was sad at some of the people who decided to play it safe. Here's my list of the best and worst dressed celebrities at the awards!

Best Dressed
Stephanie Fierce - Even though the dress reminded me something of some old drapes, I thought the color was cute and the dress fit her body nicely. I'm kind of glad she decided to play it safe after having a baby. It wasn't her BEST fashion choice but it wasn't the worst on this carpet! Kinda wanted to see more ass though.

Hannah Beth - I loved this dress so much, especially the plunging neckline! I thought she showed all the right skin and the slit was wonderfully crafted. I also like that it was black instead of some bright color, because it goes well with her great skin. Her hair was perfect for this type of dress and the shoes were good too. I thought she was gonna come dressed like a nun for a second.

Ansley - Okay, she looks so cute! But I can't help but to wish she'd dress a little more, I don't know, grown up? The outfit was cute, but she wore white after labor day so VIOLATION. Other than that, she looks like a little cute teenager.

Mia (PLF) - I'm always a fan of girls wearing suits if they can pull it off. She looks so cute and feminie, should've rubbed off on her sister. What is that? It's like a nightgown over some shorts. But good for you mia!

Saige - She broke her awards cherry! I do love pink so there's points for that. I also love it strapless and the hair. Not completely groundbreaking but it's okay for a first show. I expect much better for the next awards!

Gia - I LOVE THE OCEAN. She's always glowing these days, which helps her. I like that whole flow going on with the dress, it was a great look as well as the other 40 dresses she changed in to.

Pixie - Well hello classy! Never thought I'd see an awards show where Pixie is fully covered, oh my. I will say, the headband with the horns was a nice touch and the pink in the hair. Important rule of fashion; don't let it swallow you completely! Although I can't help but to think she's going to a funeral (probably from all the hoes she's killing in the industry) but yes, loved everyting about it!

Jennifer - Sexy from head to toe! Please, someone call her fat again, I dare you! Loved the long ponytail, so dramatic and hot. The dress was perfect, loved those heels and you've got some great legs girl! Definitely one of my favorite outfits of the night.

Isabel - I love the chopped hair, cute! The outfit was screaming 'grown up' but I felt the top was just a liiiiittle bit unflattering. Other than that, the outfit was a huge win!

Scott Rose-Hilton - He cleans up nice, thank god he shaved and trimmed that beard! I prefer his hair pulled back but you know, rockstars can't let something not hang after a few minutes.

Barbarian - I love anything with some sheerness to it so this was going on my list! It wasn't too revealing butit was playful. Loved the short hair but I can't help but to wonder if you're wearing sandals or not. This is not the beach girl.

Karoliena - I'm getting this goth vibe and I love it. Not saying she's goth but the dress reminds me of something similar. Of course, the dress couldn't be completely safe with the cutout near the chest. Show those girls off, we know you love to.

Sabina - I may not care for her music at all but I loved the huge risk she took on the red carpet. This is something I'd wear, if I had it, and I'm glad she made this first impression. I adore the huge suit jacket as well, definitely fashionable and the hair to the side. Maybe you should be a model?

Kourtney - SHE LISTENED TO ME! MUUUUCH beter than last years outfit. I like the dive in on a color that's not bright or flashy and still being able to pull it off. Very few people can rock brown on a red carpet but you did it! There's that little bit of sheer in it that gives it an elegant look but not trashy and shows off her cute little body. Thank you Kourtney for paying attention.

Glamazon - Um, yes! I love everything about this outfit, it's so adorable and fierce at the same time. I usually think of Chaos awards as a chill awards, no need for the long flowing dresses, unless you really work it.

Worst Dressed
Veronica - I'm not sure what was the implied statement here but all I saw was 'I'm a fashion designer that knows shit about style'

Katie Merjos - I looove Katie but I couldn't get with this outfit. It was the top. The top was just all kinds of wrong, and why all white? NO WHITE AFTER LABOR DAY PEOPLE. I admire the attempt but no. Is this part of your wedding dress?

Cassie - You tried so hard but the dress looks like it doesn't even fit you. I suggest something a little more form fitting.

Erica Hess - I love you dearly but I was wrong. Plaid has been fucked up for the ages. It just reminds me of one of those Christmas ornaments that goes on the tree. WHY ERICA? I hope this doesn't effect our friendship but even your cuteness couldn't hide this ugly dress.

Evangeline Wolf - What the actual hell is going on here? Am I seeing your vagina or...? No ruffles should be placed at the top of any dress, not cute! I mean, come on it was your big night and this was all you could manage? Are those skulls or ladybugs at the end of your dress? I just, can't even.

Amy-Jayne - You're really scaring me with your smile, please stop. I- this outfit is just all wrong for you. I don't know, your body looks like a box. Did your head shrink as well? It's like 400x smaller than your entire hand.

Isaac Lovelock - Technically, you're tacky, but you look high so that kinda gives you a 50-50 advantage. But still, you could've at least put on some slacks and a jacket, I don't know try to not look like you really don't want to be there?

CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER RECAP - WEEK 1

UserPostedImage
Everyone's been watching Big Brother like: "Did you see that shit?"

When I was first asked to officially be the one to blog about and recap the greatest moments from CBB, I was a bit 'meh.' After watching the first few seasons, I thought it was nothing more than a softcore porn without a title or censorship. I mean it still is to me but this season, we've got some interesting characters, and I know every season there's a handful of interesting and majority of boring but I'd say the boring ones are the minority this time. So, it's already been one week filled with weird contestants, a challenge that made some go nuts, and attempted suicide! I'm going to say, this season can't go wrong now.

'Hot' Contestants of The Week
These contestants made the most buzz of the week!

UserPostedImage
Judging from Twitter, this man was definitely the most talked about from his seemingly bipolar behavior, going from happy to sobbing with a Banana, from being the first one to break the blessed 'Dry' drought in the house when he managed to get Vara into bed after literally 5 seconds of talk to getting Edward to give him a happy ending, I mean he's done so much in that house it's crazy. When he wasn't being a bitch to everyone, he was kind of nice. I'm still skeptical, as I see a lot of fans watching were, if he was genuine or not but apparently Vara thought so just because he called her beautiful and other generic shit that all guys tell girls they want to fuck. He was the first to get evicted and honestly, he was a nice factor to the show.

UserPostedImage
Speaking of the only other guy to make the cut, because two are like ghosts and a vampires and only seem to come out at night and the other, well I forget him to be honest, Tyron definitely was making twitter and social media go insane after he stabbed, yes STABBED, himself in the stomach after...well I don't know. It was real dramatic like. He was all 'WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM MEEEE?!!!' and then bang, stabbed himself. He also got hit upside the head with a frying pan by Akiya. If you didn't make a meme of that or use it, you're lying. It was so funny, I nearly shit myself. I knew I loved Akiya for more than just her music. Anywho, he was the favorite to go home, besides Daniel, but in a funny twist, he stayed! Now he's all pissed off because he wanted to go home but GUESS WHAT? THE VIEWERS DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT TYRON.

UserPostedImage
If she's not getting high, she's having weird, emotional conversations with Vara, you know the chick she so desperately wants to bang but since her girlfriend at home, highly established urban artist Rum, is watching, she's...still not giving a shit. I'm literally betting she sleeps with her by the end of the season, or however long the public keeps her in there until they get tired of their relationship/friendship bullshit. I love Mariko, she's a good friend, but seriously? I think we're all tired of her trying to defend this weird friendship which includes making out and sleeping naked to one another. Of course she'll be brainwashed all season by Vara because, I don't know why she's really not that special of a girl, but to each their own. Anywho, she's either high, doing that, or well that's pretty much it but she's caused a lot of buzz on social media, mostly with Vara's help. I'd like to throw a lifeline to her so she can hurry and get off the show and repair her, what I expect, already damaged and ruined relationship with her gorgeous girl back at home.

UserPostedImage
She's the hot brunette that everyone on social media wants to bang and isn't Italian, it's Nooooova! She's definitely made a lot of noise on social media as one of the fan favorites for her sweet and fun personality as well as being, well, hot. She's easily the one housemate who has been shipped with literally almost everyone and she'd look hot with anyone in that house. First, Daniel, then it seemed like Vara was interested, and now Daisy, but no matter who she hooks up with or doesn't hook up with, she'll still be one of my choices to win it all. She's silly and sometimes mysterious but overall, she has fun and gets along with everyone in the house. And besides, fans would kill to have another blindfold game where Vara licks Nova all over her body again, literally Twitter blew up after that!

UserPostedImage
She's the second favorite blonde in the house, and probably isn't allowed to live in one by herself, Harmony! She's cute, funny, bubbly, and dumb as a bag of rocks, but hey, we can't all be gorgeous and intelligent! She hasn't made any enemies so that's a good start, and let's not forget when she nearly needed a heart surgery after fainting and throwing up after Tyron stabbed himself. Still a classic meme. She's my first to say will win because everyone loves the cute dumb girl, honestly! Marilyn Monroe wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed and sure she slept around and wore dresses that seemed like she was smuggling some midgets but we all can't be perfect.

UserPostedImage
And of course, so far the fan favorite, Daisy. She was sort of ticked off to be there in the first place, disappeared, was found in the bushes, and went through an attitude change and can't seem to stop being so damn happy and flirty with everyone. She's already got a top moment with Christopher, you know when she blew him and he returned the favor. Apparently, that's what lesbians do with their straight male friends, I don't know, I cannot verify that statement. She's also got this huge crush on Nova, who doesn't swing that way so it will be interesting to see how that goes. She seems to be friends with everyone and social media can't get enough of her because, well I guess she's loveable and all that.

10 Greatest Moments of The Week
These are the moments that were the most talked about on social media and will go down as some of the highlights from the season, already this early!

10. Akiya and The Frying Pan

Don't cross Akiya when she's in the kitchen because frying pans ARE throwable! Tyron learned that the hard way.

9. Daniel and Vara: The First Challenge

It didn't take long to see these two (lovebirds?) argue over the first challenge, Masters & Servants. Vara was too sympathetic with her friends to want to order around but Daniel was like 'fuck that!' but she went over the edge after he ordered Nova, whom he had a crush on still at the time, to organize his clothes by color and Vara was not having it. They argued, exchanged death stares, and ultimately, he apologized later.

8. Vara and Daniel: "You're Beautiful, OMGHASAS THAT'S THE SWEETEST THING EVER!"

After the apology, they talked and apparently sweet talking does work! It didn't take long for Vara to shed her clothes (not like she hadn't been doing that since the start of the show anyway) but she finalllllly went ahead and jumped into bed (you know with someone who was actually available and single) and we were all shocked.

7. Akiya and Ashley: "Go hose yourself off! Lolz, jk, didn't know you'd do it!"

Part of the Masters and Servants challenge, Akiya was eating her breakfast when she wanted Ashley to warm her seat up but with on whiff, she said she was too stinky and ordered her to go hose off in the back and wash with the dish soap for dishes. Seriously, my top 5 favorite moment of the season so far. I didn't think Ashley would actually do it either but she did, with some assistance from Mariko.

6. Daisy and Chris: "I'm a lesbian but sure, let's screw!"

Last night sent viewers into a frenzy when Daisy and Chris turned playing around to fucking around (literally). Chris is basically the hot prodigy in the house who most of the girls want but in a funny turn of events, he gives it up to the lesbian, the full blown lesbian, and I must say, I'm still questioning Daisy. Either she's really Bi-curious, or she loves to give blowjobs. But the two swear they were just being friends. I think those two and Mariko and Vara should all get married and have a friendly marriage.

5. Daniel and Edward: The Suck Heard 'Round The World

Another head turning event that sent Twitter into a frenzy, Daniel and Edwards quick and weird hook up. Not even sure how this came to be but it did. Although the two never really spoke before, all it took was a few seconds and bam, it happened. Like you could literally hear the slurping and *shivers* It sparked some 'homophobic' debates but honestly, I think most people just thought the hookup wasn't that hot to begin with.

4. Harmony Faints and Vomits + Nearly Drowns (In The Shallow End)

After Tyron stabbed himself, Harmony took it upon herself to play the damsel in distress. She fainted and then Elle tried to help but I guess her face made her vomit because she did! It was hilarious, and to top it all off, she went outside and almost drowned, in the shallow end of the pool, can you say HA-HA? I love her but she needs to be supervised at all times or CBB will have a lawsuit on their hands.

3. Mariko and Vara: "STFU everyone, we're totally using the 'friend' card until it expires."

Again, probably the weirdest friendship/relationship in the house goes to Mara or Variko as some idiots want to call them. Of course, they want to ship two people together who are breaking hearts, of course. They constantly call themselves friends but I call bullshit. They know it and everyone else knows it. We'd rather them just say they are dating instead of continuing on with this crap, it's getting pretty boring. I'm sure it won't be long before one of them goes home and the other follows. I don't ship them and definitely don't support but I can hardly find many who do.

2. Nova, Vara, Ashley and Elle: Dare Games

One of the most talked about episodes involved dares from these 4 ladies. There was the typical, nakedness, simulating sex, and running around in underwear but the internet heated up after Nova dated Vara to pick one of the girls to blindfold and lick in three spots. Of course, she picked Nova and, let's just say tissue and lotion sales probably went up. Nova seemed to enjoy it and of course Vara did. That tongue loves to get on other women who don't belong to her.

1. Tyron Stabs Himself

And the most talked about, tweeted about, memed about event was when Tyron stabbed himself. I couldn't make this up if I tried, he really stabbed himself on live television and producers probably lost their SHIT. I mean, no warning, just a stab. Now most of the blame goes to Akiya and Mariko for bothering him but honestly? I think maybe he just wanted to get out of the house. He did for a few days and then Big Brother was like 'Lol, you're fine bitch, get back in the house' and he's here and Daniel's gone because the public secretly wants to see if he'll hang himself now. Actually, from that event, the most talked about was how Mariko didn't care, which was pretty funny. I swear she was drunk and washing dishes around his blood and Harmony's vomit.

SYNCO - WHATEVER YOU LIKE - Single
UserPostedImage

I've always had a love/hate relationship with Synco, and it's no secret but I have to admit, they brought their A-game with their recent album and new single. Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE SEX, so a sexy single about sex with a seemingly innocent girl group? Sign me up! Now let's start from the top. I didn't know how it would turn out. I mean these lyrics are definitley for the big girls and most of them aren't even legal to purchase cigarettes let alone talk about such sexual encounters. Now some of the lyrics are a bit....graphic for those of you with an imagination. To be blunt, I'm picturing some blowjob requests but that might just be me. I actually appreciate the risk. It will come off as 'trying too hard' for some people but what would Pop music be without the risks? Ask the Queen Madonna. Anywho, it's got a real R&B beat to it with this really catchy and memorable bass line that's begging for someone to completely rule it and these girls do. Harmony wise, I'd say their strongest, lyric wise I'd say a little basic but what could we expect? These girls live by women empowerment and heartbreak songs. Teaming up with Dominic Brown was their smartest move so far. This is their second dip in the urban pool with this record and I can see them diving in there head first soon. Totally a wise next single after their last. I won't count these girls out juuust yet so they'll get my undivided attention now.

Hightlight of the Song: Take what you need I'm gonna do whatever you like whatever you like
Give you everything I'm gonna do whatever you like whatever you like
I'll do baby I'll do baby I'll do baby I'll do baby I'll do baby
(Loved the verses but seriously, who isn't strip teasing in the mirror at this moment?)

It's me, It's me, It's the HBIC. So sorry that it's taken me forever to get back into your little hearts but life happens. I know you've had to endure some terrible, just terrible and pitiful renditions of "blogs" and "reviews" but I've come to save you all, once again, from the perils of this industry. But, first I'd like to take you guys on a journey. I'd like to share my personal journey that I've been going through this, oops I mean LAST year. Of course, I wouldn't be gone for so long without a good reason. I've been thinking every day on how to approach this and the right words to say but honestly there are none. There's no "correct" way to tell the truth, you just say it. Are you ready? Here goes....

I'm going to jump feet first into this. For the last few months, I've been quietly dealing with an illness. After a visit to my doctor, I was warned that my illness would only get worse if I continued to ignore it. But you know me, head as hard as a rock, and so I kept ignoring it and prolonged my road to recovery. Now, any smart person knows that that's the wrong answer but you can't tell us stubborn folks anything, am I right? So this illness had progressed and if I had caught it earlier then I wouldn't have had to have surgery. I'll get to that in a few minutes. So, I kept quiet for months until I finally came clean to my friends and family. It was hard. I'm not much of an emotional person in terms of baring my soul to people but I had to this time to let people in and understand. So this illness began to consume my entire life. I had to go to the doctor more often and I had to make some very mature and life-altering decisions. Well, Kai and myself had to. I won't lie and say I went through all of this alone because I didn't. I had support from my wonderful man and wonderful best friends. This illness, it was something that most people dread but never really think of themselves to get; cancer. To sound really dramatic, it could've killed me but it didn't. I went through all the things that you'd expect from this type of cancer, which turned out to be Ovarian Cancer. I wasn't sure what it was or how I got it but apparently, I had it. End of discussion. There wasn't anything I could do except one of two choices. I could just let it spread and eventually kill me slowly or I could fight back. I knew it would be hard, I mean it's cancer after all, but I didn't expect it to be as hard as it was. I decided to have surgery, in which they had to remove both of my ovaries which if you're a family lady, goodbye kids. Bright side, you lose your menstrual cycle, so no more period jokes? Anyway, I had to stay in the hospital for 6 weeks, but I talked them into letting me out a week earlier. I refused to spend Christmas in a hospital.

I had a tough time getting back on my feet, literally. I felt like I was immobile. I could barely move, everything hurt. I got agitated quickly, well more so than now, and I was just fed up of going through all of it. But you know when you have family who look you in the eye and hurt because you hurt, it makes it worthwhile. I felt like I had to fight so I didn't disappoint them for being weak, so I fought. If anyone knows me, staying in bed 24/7 is almost impossible for me to do. Yes, I can be lazy but staying in bed all day is just something I cannot even think of doing. I had the best care and it's why I was able to keep this all so quiet for so long. Keep in mind, I kept this all to myself months before I even told my own family and friends. I was just afraid, you know? I figured if I did nothing it would go away. Idiotic mistake. But now, I'm here and healthy. What was even more agonizing was I couldn't work and I hardly had any strength to blog or review anything so essentially, I lost a lot of fans because, well, I wasn't doing shit. I'm not pleading for those fans back or anything but I just wanted to really come clean about why I was gone. It wasn't because I wanted to. It wasn't a vacation. I'm not even sure I'm fully back yet. In order to stay healthy, I have to take some chemotherapy sessions and I'm sure I'll be tired and wiped out. I just wanted to let you guys know I haven't left you, I haven't abandoned you. And yes, to some people this blog may seem extreme and dramatic but over the years, I've developed a solid fan base of people who genuinely care about me and what I have to say. So yes, to answer your question, I do care, very much. After all, I'd be just some girl wandering the streets without you.

So that's my sob story. I won't say I'm 100% back but I'm still around. Sadly, you guys haven't ran me off quite yet. Also, take care of yourself guys. Nobody wants to hang out with someone almost dead.

Happy New Year XO

NOVA - MORNING AFTER - Album
UserPostedImage

When people first break into the industry, there seems to be an identity crisis for the first few tracks they release, and then the album sort of sounds like a struggle or just a big experiment of sounds and can sometimes sound like trash. This isn't the case for the album I'm reviewing today. Tiffany Mackenzie, better known as Nova, which fits her perfectly because she's truly out of this world. First, the way she debuted, by catching some attention off of an anonymous SoundCloud posting, which was the second to appear in 2014, first being Michelle, but it only seemed to propel her even further as she continued to amaze and gain a greater following after each track and song heard from her. It's not usually my cup of tea to think so highly of a newcomer but I have serious doubts that Nova will have problems in the near future with keeping eyes on her.

Not only is she insanely beautiful, a lustful air really seems to follow her around wherever she goes, she writes amazing lyrics, has a wonderful attitude and she's got some unique set of pipes which can either do one of two things to a listener; irritate the hell out of them or start worshiping her right then and there. To be completely honest, some would say that CBB helped her career. I disagree. I think she would have made it regardless. Everyone wants to know more about her and not only because she shares Glamazon's blood. You just wanted to know her lyrics and get inside her head, which she has no problem with sharing because she's usually blunt and to the point, which is another thing I like. She keeps some things to herself but doesn't hold back on juicy details all the time.

Let's get into Nova's album, her debut which I believe is one of the best debuts in the industry. A lot of artists will deliver some pretty weak stuff for their debut but Nova delivered some really decent material, and it makes me want to already buy her sophomore album. I'm very glad she decided to not just release an EP, albums are a lot trickier but she already had a plan, so why not? She had a concept, which is rarely seen these days, and each song related to the next one. And they say one night stands are meaningless, well she managed to write an amazing album based off ONE NIGHT, that's right one little night. First off, her creativity shows on each track. It doesn't stray or sound completely off either plus, she didn't have 400 producers screwing with her sound. Working with Jared Nevo (totally ship them) from 'Hey Lolita' was a brilliant move. The whole story is about her and a guy getting together and having a one night stand. Now the normal person would probably get one song from that but not our Nova, she managed a whole album which is already impressive.

Things start off a little mediocre, "Mr. Iceman" is definitely the weakest track and probably weakest album opener I've heard but even that is not a bad track, just weak in terms of what I wanted to hear. I would have preferred something like "Eat Your Heart Out" which is just a wonderfully done angst filled track and would probably have blown the album wide open but the current opener sorta makes you hesitant to listen to the rest of the album, but I'm glad I continued anyway. It's very much simplistic in terms of musically but the lyrics basically spell out wanting to be that girl that makes that type of guy to change, and who doesn't sometimes feel like that? It's pretty much the same throughout, nothing special but enjoyable. 6/10

The next track, "Every Hour" is like an 80's throwback with the synths and it gives you that feel of her first track, "Cheerleader," very much easy to listen to but with those crazy vocals. It's such a relatable song, just like the album. You wait for that bastard to call you after everything and he doesn't even bother, what a douche. Basically, that's a summary of the song but with much better wording and a catchier chorus. Again, nothing overly special about the track but it's existence can't be denied. 7/10

"Eat Your Heart Out" is one of my favorite tracks on the album is next. Seriously, this song is one of my top 3 on the album (if I had to condense it that short of a list). It's a bit of new wave meets indie rock, really great stuff. And, it sounds like some out of space type track, which can be expected from someone who has such a fascination with space and things. She goes from being sad and heartbroken to really wanting to tell the guy to fuck off, and that's one of my favorite statements so I'm all aboard. The lyrics, the production, honestly, you can hear for yourself why I love this song so. 10/10

Now we get to the second single released from the album, the forever entertaining (and lengthy) "Kill My Buzz." If there were ever a more cleverly written track, please point it out because the lyrics here take the spotlight, which is sometimes hard to do but with Nova, you not only pay attention to sounds and attitude, the lyrics man, the lyrics! Here, she's basically going back to the whole source of this, the drinking and flirting, the happiness, she's really gone from 0 to 100, real quick. The chorus though, that damn chorus was stuck in my head for a long time, and even the pre-chorus, and the bridge, she's just a very talented writer. 9/10

Another one of my favorites, the pop ballad, "Strain." Nova proves that you can take away all the noise and she can still deliver, same with another track but I'll get to that in a few minutes. It's mostly pop fueled with some acoustics that transcend later into the song. Again, her vocals take precedence because she has such a unique tone that would stick out anywhere. This goes back to vulnerable Nova. She lets you know that sure, she's strong but she's also got emotions and she just wants to have the feelings returned, at the end of the day. 9/10

This cute little song, "Tasty," is a must listen. She proves her abilities as a songwriter here with the whole sexual innuendo which lasts through the entire song. Seriously, food and sex comparisons, it's just natural. I also love the throwback vibe which Nova seems to favor as well. She doesn't shy away from anything, which is why I love her so much. She lays it out there but she also leaves something to the imagination. You can picture yourself driving down a highway with the top down and blasting this song to enjoy. I personally would have released this as a summer anthem but you know we can't all be correct. 8/10

Judging by it's rating on iTunes, this track might be the fan favorite, which I can also agree, it's pretty amazing. She dives into her R&B experimental sound, with just a hint of alternative pop. "Mama Would Be Proud" is everything you probably didn't expect and more. She's almost rapping in the verses but her soft vocals come back to e beautiful melody during the chorus as she sounds so sarcastic and witty. The point of the song is to make the guy feel like a douche, which she's doing a great job at convincing me by the way, and saying how he used to be a sweet kid but now he's just turned into a player, Nova don't like them types, and she's calling him out. The production is top stuff and so are the lyrics. She even got some props for it by SYNCO member, Alex. 10/10

Ahh, the first single, "Daze." It seems just yesterday we were seeing how little Nova would match up to the rest of the industry and then she released this to completely start her own lane of music. It was a little criticized for being too different, which in my eyes is kind of stupid. All artists should strive to be different, but not forced. This didn't feel forced at all seeing as how the rest of the album falls into place with the track. We first find out here that Nova is definitely a magnet for bad men but she likes it. She's sort of masochistic like that. She knows she's in pain but it sort of keeps her alive and going. And we also figured out she loves to dance. 10/10

The second ballad like track with some ambiance is "But Everything's Alright," which if you're not familiar with Ambient music or chillwave, this will give you some kind of an idea as to what to expect. It's almost kind of abstract and you don't know where the production is going but once it's going, it's really relaxed and laid back. I'm really excited that the US is being exposed to more different genres than just your typical Pop and R&B, which is another pro to this album. She gives the average listener a not so average sound. The track is really depressing though, as if she has just been weighed down with her own conscious as she sings almost lifelessly. If you're ever in a shit mood, this track will be perfect for you. 8/10

To continue the sad mood, "Right To Your Heart" is another slow yet not as depressing to listen to. This time, Nova is contemplating, really reflecting over all that has happened and she's written the song to get to the bottom of things. She hopes that he is listening and maybe one day the two will reunite but then she also second guesses herself and hopes that they never do meet again. One night stands are usually supposed to be just that but there are times when people catch feelings and then it becomes a terrible experience. She lays it all on the line, wearing her heart on her sleeve so to speak, and she bares her soul for the world to hear. It's a great, emotional track that lacks nothing. The production is simple and mainly includes a xylophone and piano, making sure not to over do it and lose it's simplicity. 10/10

We've come to the final track of the album, "In Your Dreams," another great head bopper and ties up the album well. Well, I'll say it's sort of a cop out. After all that, the whole story, she decides to brush it off and say "Or maybe I just dreamed it all, oooh!" No Nova, you cannot do that. I'll say the production, the synthpop with the special effects on the vocals sound great but I kinda was disappointed. I would have preferred to have had "Right To Your Heart" end the album. This felt sort of like a "Ha ha, made you look" and you know it almost ruins the whole story but I'll let you redeem yourself next album. She's gained her confidence, that's for sure so I hope the next album will be more of an ex-lover anthem maybe? I'm definitely interested. It's creative but compared to most of the track, it doesn't really compare. I felt it was a little lazy to end the album but again, first album usually isn't perfect but I'm pressed with how well she made it. 6/10

Hightlights of the Album: "Eat Your Heart Out" "Strain" "Tasty" "Mama Would Be Proud" "Right To Your Heart" "Kill My Buzz" (Not to say the rest of the album wasn't great but these tracks, if they didn't make the album, I probably wouldn't have felt the same way).

PENETRALIA - Gem - Single
UserPostedImage

I've loved Pentetralia, for a while now. Their songs seem to really be for those kids who don't want anything to do with the mainstream crap being played on the radios, but they want the gritty, dirty, truth. I respect that and I respect this band. It almost seems like they have the aura of veterans but this is only their second album. So there's a little backstory for some of my new readers. To those who are already familiar with them, their consistent amazing discography is no surprise. Their latest single, "Gem" was the work of Penetralia and their musical collaborative experiment with Bill Owens (see "The Enlightened" and co). But when rock artists and producers get together, they tend to really come up with something much better than expected, and this is no exception. As with every Penetralia song, Koda is the forerunner, with his booming and easily recognizable voice. Maybe it's that way for a reason, maybe it's just how my ears hear it, but it's not hard to pick out the leader. He's spewing the typical, alternative lyrics, which are usually about love, loss of love, or all of the above. After hearing the song for the first time, you probably get confused and have no idea what's being talked about but after my second listen, I discovered it was simply about being in the "friend zone." But of course, it had to sound cool so enter Penetralia.

And it wouldn't be a great song without screaming, which they don't forget to incorporate, clearly my favorite part. The song makes me excited for the upcoming album and their next single as well. A powerful tune from the band about to take over the WORLD (or at least the rock portion of the industry).

Highlight of Song: "She’s my rhinestone and she’s my diamond
She’s my snowflake and she’s my spark
She’s my hero, she’s my everything
She’s forever in my heart

I can see that she’s a f*cking gem
This girl means the whole god damned world to me
She’s my entire universe
For as long she’s breathing then f*ck it, I ain’t ever leaving"

Honor's Blog
Song Streaming: Lady Gaga - Sexxx Dreams

Just wanted to do a short blog with an update on all the things I've been announcing over Twitter! The podcast is still a go and already have my first few guests lined up. Thank you for all the submitted topics. They will all be taken into consideration and they gave me a really good laugh. I can tell you it will be a wild show, totally unscripted and ANYTHING GOES. You won't need to worry about any PR bullshit because I won't allow it. Guests should really think about coming on if they want a REAL show to be on. I mean it's a podcast so it's not like anyone will see you. Strictly for the ears man. But I will not be responsible for whatever goes on during my show. It'll be unpredictable and real, no fake reactions or anything. I will get to the nitty gritty so if you aren't prepared to be honest, don't even step into my arena.

Besides that, I am also announcing my second fragrance that will be out sometime this fall as well. It'll be a little sister to "Jynx" which sold so well and exceeded expectations. It'll be dark and lovely, just like me ha. As far as health wise since so many have asked, I'm doing great. The cancer is still in remission so let's hope it stays that way. I feel great and healthy. I'm currently running around with my photoshoots and also planning a wedding to the greatest man alive. That's all I have for now!

See ya space cowboy/girl.

MAGIE - Try The Lucky - Single
UserPostedImage

We've all been enjoying the new music as of late, some good and some bad. Some atrocious and some musical masterpieces. Which leads me to the new Magie Lena single, "Try The Lucky." I'll admit, I'm a partial Magie fan because of her days with Electrodeath and I enjoyed most of her debut solo album as well. She's always respected among her peers for the legacy she's already paved in music so you would think she doesn't have much to prove or really ruin. Well, that was probably all thrown out the window in just three minutes and fifteen seconds. While the message of the song is legit and interesting, it's the production that throws everything off. It sounds like a dated throwaway track from 2011, and that's putting it lightly. Whether it's the slight monotone in her singing or just the keyboards, synths, and repetitive beat that kind of gets old after a few seconds, there's nothing really 'Wow' about the track. Maybe this would've flew with Electrodeath but she should remember she is a solo artist now. All traces of the past should be dead and gone. Now is the time to really break out and show what YOU are about, not what you can do with some old Electrodeath rejects. Will it fit in on radio? Probably. It'll be more basic than a Zedd single but it'll still sell and be seen as a summer-feel-good-drive-recklessly-down-a-highway type of track but I'm not impressed.

With that being said, still love Magie but I don't think this was a good choice for a single (or to even make it on the album)

Highlight of Song: Literally the end of the song.

REESE HOLLINSWORTH - Stockholm - Single
UserPostedImage

Reese Hollinsworth is back and with a HUGE new single. I wasn't a huge fan of his last album at all (Or anything he did) but I'm really loving the new one so I have high hopes for the new album, whenever it may be. Now, we haven't heard much from him in a while, which is a good thing. It just made the song that much bigger because it felt like he was gone, you know? So to the single. It's an electronic pop song with some soothing vocals and crazy, amazingly well done lyrics. It's his first single with a new label (shoutout to all those new labels debuting some of the years best music compared to the more established labels. That's what I'm talking about!) Now, this is a huge upgrade in many ways. He's not being overshadowed with his dramatics, the vocals are crisp and clean, (I'm convinced his vocals have actually improved since he's been gone), there's not much of a shouting contest going on, it's all great. Aside from the gorgeous production, the lyrics have got to be some of the best this year. There's none of that bubblegum-tryhard-bullshit, you know this man has been through it! The imagery is better than some of the industry's more established artists and that's really what gets me. He's painting a dark picture of a romance that is truly heart wrenching to watch but at the same time, some people love pain. You don't really get many mainstream songs about pain anymore, at least not many good ones. You'll have the occasional "Oh my baby hurt me, I'm so sad, sad, sad" but Reese was able to turn that concept, make it darker, and actually write some damn good lyrics to accompany it. It's everything a great single is; catchy, innovative, and fresh. Now I will say the production is a BIT similar to a certain other young pop male star but then is there really any new sounds that we're hearing this year? Not really, but it doesn't knock the songs ability to captivate. One might say it's my favorite single of the year so far. Bravo Mr. Hollinsworth, I will stop talking shit about you on Twitter now ;)

I am anxiously awaiting your album if there's more gems like this on there.

Highlight of Song: Palettes for your ever-changing hues, sharp and shady sketching tools, portfolio inside
The contrast so close, only beauty could be defined
Never did well with pastel the way you smudged the details and complimented deformities
Only you know what draws out the best in me
(Aint nobody fucking with this, let's be honest)
