Once Vanity is announced to take to the stage next, the whole arena suddenly falls into pitch black darkness. The crowd erupt into cheers at the news, it's clearly an exciting moment, and not only for Vanity fans who haven't seen their beloved pop star on stage for a long while now, but for those curious to see what the eccentric star could possibly pull off next. A sudden eye appears on the giant screen on stage and heavy breathing is heard over the speakers, exciting the crowd further and teasing Vanity's entrance.
The breathing that's heard slowly becomes louder and louder, the stage gradually lighting up in a deep shade of red as one by one an additional light comes to life, illuminating a new area of the stage as the giant eye still remains on screen. It blinks and the pupil of the eye has a large 'V' at the center of it, which the crowd react to with loud screams that fill the arena. As soon as we see this on the screen, the harsh, explosive opening to Vanity's new single "Eyelids" begins and the deep red lights on stage start to flash rapidly.
Just as the crowd expects to see Vanity any moment now, the intro to the song continues for a little longer than the studio version and everything suddenly blacks out and goes silent. Vanity's voice is now heard over the speakers for the first time, the screen lights back up, this time the pupil of the eye starting to spin hypnotically. While there's still no activity on stage other than the visuals on the screen, the lone sound of Vanity's voice blasting through the arena is enough to get the crowd pumped. Her voice is soft and almost monotone as she speaks.
"The mind is the most powerful weapon of all. A weapon that can only handle so many bullets. A weapon we can only sharpen so much. Its companion, the eye, is what fuels the mind. It's how we know heaven from hell. What if we could filter all the bad out? What if... we could forget everything bad we ever saw? A visual cleansing. A memory drain."
During the last part of the spoken introduction to the performance, Vanity's voice notably becomes edited to be deeper, distorted and almost robotic sounding. We hear the song's frantic opening beats again as the lights start to flash for a second time, a group of dancers on the stage all dressed in black as they look up, which is when the crowd sees Vanity slowly descending from the ceiling in a metal cage, a mask covering half her face with an opening at the mouth, her voice harsh and raw as she powerfully opens the song.
"Put me in a permanent dark
So far from the light, give me vision for the night
To see and believe, to discover and uncover
The truth in what lies deep down
Deep down in my frantic mind
I am, I am undefined"
As the cage finally arrives onto the stage, Vanity's dancers surround her and open the cage as two male dancers drag her out of it. As she moves out barefoot, the crowd scream wildly and get a better look at what she's wearing, a similar all-black outfit to her dancers, but a top with dramatic shoulders. As she sings the track's pre-chorus, the lights stop flashing and one of the male dancers rips off her mask, and Vanity gives a small smile to the crowd at their response to seeing her face.
"Don't hold me at the mercy of, no
Don't hold me at the mercy of, oh
Don't hold me at the mercy of my wild soul"
She looks down at the stage for a short moment as her dancers quickly get into position behind her, the bass of the hard-hitting chorus vibrating the floor of the arena as it suddenly hits and Vanity and her dancers begin an energetic dance routine. Vanity has never been credited as much of a dancer, but her moves are fluid and rather impressive this time round, ending the choreography with her on the floor, her dancers tugging and pulling at her body. Vanity's live vocals are heard clearly over the backing track that's provided for the chorus, her voice strong and consistent despite the demanding routine.
"Like blinds on the windows
Clouds over the sun
I blackout the harsh reality
With my eyelids
Stab out my vision
Like shutting off the television
I blackout the harsh reality
With my eyelids"
Vanity is pulled up from the floor for the second chorus as she catches her breath, her dancers split into two groups and begin an acrobatic section of the performance, a visually striking and impressive display as Vanity is the center piece of the stunts pulled off. She's pulled up onto a dancer's shoulders and thrown to the other group who catch her, before she's spun around and tossed back to her original place. The backing track is louder in this section to fill in for her lack of singing, predictably so due to her being tossed around so much. It's a moment in the performance that focuses more on the statement of the song, her dancers infecting her being as Vanity becomes corrupted.
"The greatest collision
My vivid dreams and the real extremes
No more tunnel vision, it's my decision
To flee from this power in the final hour
I ride away from the world's existence
Into the distance
Away from the sounds, away from the crowds
Into underground"
For the second chorus, the dancers form a circle around Vanity and when they finally move apart to allow the crowd to see her, Vanity's top is ripped off as we see her in a black bra now, while the dancers form a wall behind her, their backs to the audience. Vanity falls to her knees and sings both powerfully and dramatically, almost screaming out the lyrics to compliment the intense nature of the song, her body twisting and turning violently, almost as if she's under possession. As she does so, the extreme flashing lights flood the arena, adding a chaotic, yet slightly eerie feel to the performance as the giant eye still on the giant screen above her starts to spin faster.

The following moment in the song is one of the rare gentle, softer moments in the track and the dancers suddenly come to life, pulling her up to her knees and starting to circle around her repeatedly in a menacing fashion. Vanity's vocals are gentle, yet expressive and the lyrics display a desire to surrender, fitting in perfectly with the theme of the performance, Vanity's whole body language weak and vulnerable.
"Draw the blinds, no more reasons to define
The problems of the girl and the way the world works
Take out my sight, no more reasons to fight
Against the system, I shut off my television
I flip the switch and this time, I quit
And I drift off to a silent trip"
As Vanity sings the pre-chorus just before the very final chorus, the backing track drops out and all the lights shut off, including the eye projection on the giant screen above her. A lonesome spotlight shines down on Vanity, her being the only thing the audience can see on stage. She sings this part acoustically and nails it beautifully, not overdoing the vocal delivery, but still showing the strength that's in her voice.
The lights flash violently for the explosion of the final chorus, the shades of deep red filling the stage once more and the screen showing a more psychedelic visual, this time continuously zooming into the eye to reveal another eye repeatedly. The beat rattles the floor of the arena as it swoops back in and as the stage lights up for the final time, we see her dancers positioned perfectly around her, beginning the same upbeat dance routine that we saw earlier in the performance, more aggression and power in the choreography this time as flames soar around her and the dancers.
By the end of the routine, Vanity is almost at the end of the chorus and they form a wall in the middle of the stage, this time facing the audience as Vanity runs behind them to shield herself from the crowd's vision. Just as she sings "I blackout the harsh reality / With my eyelids", we hear her singing become more dramatic, almost as if she's in pain as her dancers move apart and scatter around her body, freezing in position with her. There's an audible gasp heard from the audience, followed by an eerie silence, her eyes completely red as blood begins to trail down her cheeks as we hear the very final beat to the track. She drops her microphone, then falls into a dancer's arms, who then proceeds to carry her off stage.
