’I’d Wait Forever’ is the second single from the 19 year old American country-pop singer-songwriter Ellie-Grace Summers. The song appeared on her debut album titled ‘Ellie-Grace’ and was written earlier in the year by the young musician. It will be released on November 6, 2011 as the final single under her former label Monk On Fire Music. Early reviews of the album stated that this was one of the strongest tracks from the album with one review stating that this should have been the debut single from her album, however ‘Paint Me A Picture (feat. Hayden)’ was chosen as the debut single and peaked at number #4 which encouraged the interest in her debut album. The single was produced by Ryan Ross Hernandez at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles in August 2011 and will be available on Sunday.
CompositionThe song is just under 4 minutes long and is primarily Ellie-Grace’s vocals and acoustic guitar as is the majority of her debut album, however there is the inclusion of a soft drum beat in the background but the emphasis of the song remains with the acoustic guitar and the country-pop vocals from Ellie-Grace. The song remains at a relatively soft pace and the vocals continue in a similar vein until the first pre-chorus where Ellie increases the volume to provide emphasis on the heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics “You once said we’d end up together/But now you’ve gone, I’d wait forever.” With lyrics that will likely resonate with teenagers worldwide, the song eases out softly as it ends.
Songwriter’s Analysis ”I wrote this song at the beginning of the year, around January or February and I guess it came out of my own reminiscing of high school which I had finished in May the previous year. At the time when I wrote the song, I was focusing on starting a music career, I decided not to go to college and try to make get signed and I guess I was struggle to get anywhere while my friends were now in college and a lot of my friends went to the same college as each other in Nashville, Tennessee which was tough for me because It was like I was all alone for the first time, all my friends had gone off to do their own thing and I was struggling a little to move on in my own life and I found myself spending so much time on my own just thinking about the time I spent with my friends and that feeling of being young and in the moment and having nothing to worry about for a couple of hours, just having fun really and this is where the song came from.
The song is both about a guy that I dated, we knew we were gonna break up because he was going to college in Chicago and it’s about the guy and how our last conversation hurt me and it’s also about the feeling of losing my friends, particularly the opening to the song relates more to that, The song can work on different levels but those are the two main inspirations to the song and that’s what formed the majority of songs from my album but this was the song that I felt more emotionally attached to and it holds a special place for me because of the meaning and looking now as my life has moved on and I’ve been lucky enough to begin my career and make some great new friends and remain in contact with my old friends, I feel very blessed that I get to be here and releasing this song as the second single is a kind of, this is where I was but this is where I am, kind of statement.”

A Pain So Tough And A Love So Pure To Me, Vanish
And Your No Longer Here To See Me Laugh And Cry
And I Wonder Why, This Is Over So Soon
---
Is This The Way It Was Supposed To End, So Should I Grieve
I Question, Was Your Love Real Or Just Make Believe
Instead I’m Lost In My Tragic Thoughts Even More
Rewriting Our History As It Falls To The Floor
---
So When You Leave Me Alone In The Darkness
Will You Remember My Face And All That Goes With It
Everything You Said That Made Me So Special Hasn’t Disappeared
And I Pray To The Heavens For The Day You Come Near
---
You Once Said We’d End Up Together
But Now You’ve Gone, I’d Wait Forever
Yes I’d Wait Forever, It’s True
I Promise I’d Wait Forever For You
---
All I Need To Know Is That There’s A Chance For Me And You
Another Chance At Love Because I Promise That I’d Follow You
Or Maybe I’ll Just Decide To Go Wherever You Are
And I’ll Find Things To Keep My Faith, I’ll Be Wishing On A Star
---
So You’ll Come Back Into My Life
Like The Grace Of The Morning Sun
Because You’re the Only One
Like A Firefly In The Evening Light
Like Our Love Was Never Out Of Sight

All I Need To Know Is That There’s A Chance For Me And You
Another Chance At Love Because I Promise That I’d Follow You
Or Maybe I’ll Just Decide To Go Wherever You Are
And I’ll Find Things To Keep My Faith, I’ll Be Wishing On A Star
