Scott stands up and raises his hands, laughing. He waves to Casey and gives her a quick thumbs up.

Hayden: BID!!!! Oh am I supposed to say something afterwards? Uh, great performance, I can take you places, yada yada yada, pick me.

Matthew adjusts his microphone to the right height for him as he plucks his guitar, while his brother Lawrence places a small array of pedals before Matthew. While the rest of the band set up, Matthew nods his head a bit, and for the first time The Devil You Know are shown on stage, without the goofy set-up used for their promo pictures.

“Hey-o! My name is Matt, and you probably already knew that.” The vocalist lets out a nervous chuckle before a loud screech is heard as Matt flinches. He quickly looks back towards his brother Vincent.

“Sorry! My bass got a bit too purr-y.” Vincent speaks over to him, and Matt shrugs.

“Alright, well looks like we’re getting this show on the road and uh, this one goes out to ELMNT, because their name is weird.”


[Brackets = Background Vocals]

Julian plays the quick drum intro as he quickly reverts into the back-beat that underlines the song as Matt begins the signature riff of the song with Vincent supporting him. At this point Lawrence justs sits on his amp.

“Before the song...” Matt says, still strumming, “Just wanna say thanks Fort Lauderdale for what you’ve been to us and uh...I can see my house from here!”

The nonsensical comment causes his brother Lawrence to laugh before he stands as he begins strumming, unplugged from his amp to imitate the acoustic section as the drumming slows down to cymbal taps and Matt stops playing, stepping towards the mic.



Matt begins to strum heavily as the drumming picks back up, Matt’s guitar drowns out the acoustic guitar.



The song reverts back to its original rhythm, and Lawrence is sitting down on his amp again. Matt steps to the microphone, “Great time out here, lovely city this is. Can’t wait to check out more of the sites.”

And back to Lawrence’s strumming with Matt stepping to the Mic:



Matt comes back in headbanging as he sings the next lines strumming heavily.



Drumming picks up as Vincent backs up Matthew’s guitar solo which begins. The eldest brother gets onto his knees as he plays headbanging his slightly shaggy mane, biting below his lip with his upper teeth as he tears into the riff.

Lawrence throws up a pair of devil horns as he headbangs and the solo begins to come to an end as the quartet have finished their rendition of the song. Matt shakes his head and breathes out. “Thank you Star Factory, The Devil You Know.”

Scott: BID!!!! YES! I was hoping to see someone stand up there with a guitar tonight, and boom! Here you are. What you guys need is someone who has a knowledge of alternative music and how to go places in that industry. Anyone here sold 15 top metal albums and sold out stadia around the entire world? *he looks side to side at the other judges* Oh shit yeah, it was me! Anyway guys, I loved it, and I think you have real potential. If you want someone who knows the alternative industry like the back of his hand, then I'm your man!

This type of music is right up my alley and your voice is so refreshing, and it sounds like it's very versatile, so it will be interesting to see what type of acoustic/indie stuff we could experiment with if you were on my team.
