As Mark closed the door and walked into the house, he could see that Layla had really went all out for Christmas, and the place looked wonderful. There were decorations everywhere, which made Mark chuckle a little. Layla always was one for going all out with these things when they were married. As he walked around the house, he noticed a few things were different. The pictures of them together were no longer hanging in the living room, and the kitchen had been changed. Mostly though it was the same, and Mark furrows his brow as he thinks. This had been one of the only times in his life he had felt secure and safe and relaxed. He was about to have a seat in the kitchen when he heard something, someone singing. It was Layla. They hadn't seen each other since the divorce, and Mark wasn't ready for this. He had been sure she wouldn't be home. He thinks for a few seconds, before he decides to try to escape. He looks towards the kitchen door - locked. Cursing himself, he starts to make his way towards the front door, tiptoeing to not make any noise.

Mark was very nearly at the front door, thinking he had managed to escape unnoticed, when suddenly he heard a scream behind him. He had no idea she was so close, so the sudden noise made him jump as well. When she said his name, he sighed, realising he had been caught there. He turns a little and sees her standing there. It instantly made him feel sad. It was the first time he had seen her in months, and he felt guilty, not to mention the fact he missed her a lot. He runs his hand through his hair. "Sorry," he says quietly. "I thought you'd be away. I was coming for some stuff I left. Sorry," he mumbles as he turns towards the door again.

Mark looks at Layla for a moment when she speaks, remembering how happy the two had once between. She was his first love, and to date his only love, but he had left, mostly because he was worried he hadn't loved her, that he just thought he did because he had never known anything else. It wasn't until he left that he realised he had been very wrong. But one can't just admit that. He had tried his best to move on, and getting his things would be the next stage in that. Besides, Layla had a boyfriend now. Scott had told him that. When she turns and walks away, he nods thoughtfully. "Ok...um thanks, Layla," he says before heading upstairs. When he gets to the bedroom, it's when he realises something was strange. Everything was the same. The guitar was still stood in the corner, a pair of Mark's shoes still sat by the wardrobe, and the photo of their wedding was still on the chest of drawers. Taking a second to take it all in, not understanding why Layla hadn't thrown it all out, Mark sits on the end of the bed and shakes his head. It was all too weird and confusing for someone like him to understand and he didn't like not knowing what was going on.

As Mark sat on the edge of the bed, he thought he heard Layla come upstairs, but by the time he looked up, there was no one there. He shakes his head, thinking he was mistaken, and walks over to the wardrobe. He grabs a bag and starts to pack a few of his shirts and jackets into it. It filled him with sadness to do it though, mostly because it was like the final chapter. Once he left, it was as if she'd be gone forever. After a while he feels quite dizzy from all the thinking, so he goes to find Layla. "Hey, do you mind if I have a coffe?" he calls out in the hallway.

Mark smiles a little nervously and then walks into the kitchen behind her. "Oh...thanks," he says quietly, sitting at the counter and watching her make the Coffee. It had been such a long time since they were in the same room, and Mark only now realised just how much he missed this life, and Layla. He senses something of an awkward silence, so he looks at his phone for a moment. "I felt a little dizzy," he explains. "Guess I'm more tired than I thought. Hopefully a coffee will help."

Mark nods. "Yeah I heard that was a little bit of a crazy tour that one. Glad I wasn't out there." He takes the coffee from her and smiles a little. He was quite surprised at how nice he was being, even after he left her. But that was Layla. Always nice to everyone no matter what. He takes a drink. "I always said you'd make a great batista," he says nervously. "So....how are things?"

"I can imagine. Being on tour with him can never just be normal," he says a little bitterly. He was struggling to contain his dislike for Scott in public at the moment. "Yeah, probably more money in label stuff than Starbucks anyway," he laughs and shakes his head. "Well...pretty awful to be fair. Scott and I haven't talked for like a fortnight, and I really have no one to talk to on tour..unless I call my mom. Lame huh?" he takes another sip. He wanted to ask Layla about her boyfriend, the one Scott mentioned, but he didn't want to seem nosey. Besides it was none of his business any more.

"He was just...I think I just got fed up of hearing all of his moaning and stuff, so I told him and he got pissed. Shame. Doesn't seem like it'll get patched up though, to be honest." He shrugs and takes another drink of coffee before pouring himself another. "Nah no one else. Who else would I call? No one else to bother really." He smirks a little. "Yeah I think my mom misses you. She liked a chat with you. More than she does with me," he jokes. When she says she doesn't date, he looks surprised. "Oh? I heard you had a boyfriend. Scott said it was someone Gia knows." he shrugs. "How is the cat?"

"Yeah..." Mark says, raising his eyebrows. He knew things would never be sorted for him and Scott now, but he would rather keep that to himself. "Nadia?" he asks, a little surprised. "No...ummm..ha. That didn't work. I guess she wasn't who I want. She's...a bit shallow and too...poppy for me. You know me. I like people who are down to earth and..just nice. I probably wasn't ready for someone new anyway. It just gets lonely." he nods when she talks about her dating. Mark felt a little sad that she was clearly moving on, even though he had no right to be. "Well...hopefully soon then, huh? I'm sure you'll find a great guy. Someone who deserves you." He smiles at the mention of their cat. "I bet she's glad I'm gone. I'm sure the cat hated me."

"Nah it's cool. I'm not sorry really. She's not as nice as she makes out anyway." Mark smirks and shakes his head. He was definitely not looking to date for a while. Especially not that he realised how much he was hurting over missing Layla. "Not me, I don't reckon. I don't really deserve anyone anyway. But hey, I'll survive. You should get someone though. You don't deserve to be alone. Besides these coffee skills are wasted on just you," he jokes. Coffee was mark's biggest vice, and he loved the way she made it. "Well she has a funny way of showing it. I still have some scratch marks even now."
