"Uhhhh.....fuck....mmmmmm" Dustyn starts to relax into the rhythm and begins to feel a familiar tightness in his stomach as Dallas pushes up inside him again. He was finally getting worked up again but his eyes are drawn to the picture once more and when Dallas laughs, making it clear that he's aware of Dustyn's distance, he gives up and sighs. Dustyn sighs and sits up, running a hand through his hair and looking across the room at the painting. "Well I already denounced my religion a few years ago. Think I has pissed the Virgin Mary off enough without taking it right up the arse in front her." Dustyn laughs quietly, trying to make light of it but in the back of his mind he still feels wrong about having sex in front of such an image. Growing up in a strict Catholic family and hearing about how wrong homosexuality is, it's always stuck in his mind on some level. "OK, I really need to take that picture down. Really giving me the fear right now. No looking at my bum by the way." Dustyn shoots out of bed and pads across the room carefully in his bare feet across the old wooden floor. Before he reaches out for the picture, he playfully smacks his bare bottom for Dallas in an attempt to lighten up the situation. "OK then, have a little look if you must." He giggles as he takes the picture down and places it on the floor, making sure it's turned around too so that the image faces the wall. "Much better. Now give me some cuddles!" Dustyn makes his way back over the bed and quickly protects himself with the covers again. "You want to try it again? We can scream as loud as we want and nobody will be able to hear. It's good going considering the way I yell. Sounds like I'm celebrating at a football match when I come." Dustyn giggles and turns his head, kissing his boyfriend and slipping in some tongue while using a hand to caress his chest. He smirks as his hand travels down Dallas' body and under the covers before taking hold of his cock. Dustyn begins to slowly stroke his boyfriend, now starting to get back into the mood. He climbs on top and kisses down Dallas' bare chest and continues to head down under the covers. It's pretty obvious what he's about to do. However, he just gets down to Dallas' belly button before a gust of wind and bucket load of rain smashes against the window out of nowhere. It causes the whole wooden frame the rattle and Dustyn jumps out of his skin. "Fuck!" he yells out, scurrying back up towards Dallas. He snuggles back into him yet still feels unsafe. Although he knows it was only the wind, it really unnerved Dustyn and his surroundings aren't really doing anything to help calm him down.

Dallas sighs and shakes his head, still chuckling a little when Dustyn sits up in bed. Yawning, he looks up at the photo when Dustyn mentions the painting and smirks, shrugging. "Sure, but hey, it might as well be a painting of Harry Potter up there if you're going to be worried about upsetting fictional characters," he says, clearly joking around. He knew that Dustyn had been brought up religious and that he himself was an atheist, which made their relationship even quirkier, given how different their beliefs were. "I'll tell you what if the painting sends you off to hell, I'll make sure I hold your hand and head down there with you," he adds with a little wink. When Dustyn gets up to go and remove the painting from the wall, Dallas wasn't sure if he was joking or not. The idea that he would be scared of a religious painting seemed really ridiculous to Dallas, but he wouldn't say anything. Each to their own and all that after all. ""Now, your ass, that is something I do believe in. Probably has more power than god as well. I've seen the following it has online," he winks and raises an eyebrow when Dustyn takes the photo down. Looks like he really was being serious, which almost made Dallas laugh out loud, something he managed to stifle. He didn't want Dustyn to think he was belittling his religion. He yawns and scratches his head as Dustyn climbs back into bed, feeling now like it might really be the right time to go to sleep. It had been a long day of travel after all and he was really tired. He smiles as he kisses Dustyn, leaning in towards him and putting an arm around him. However, Dustyn seems determined to reignite the flame from before, something that Dallas wasn't all that into. He wasn't quite as sexual, nor did he have the same drive, as Dustyn, so to try to just start something again after "the mood" had been killed wasn't really doing it for him. He tries to think of a way to be tactful about telling Dustyn, trying not to upset him by saying he wasn't all that into sex that had been interrupted already, although he knew he would be upset, Dustyn always seemed to take things like that personally even when Dallas was not trying to upset him at all. However, he need not have worried because a few seconds later, just as Dustyn was disappearing under the covers, there's a bang on the window from the wind, making them both jump out of their skin and look towards the glass, the driving wind relentlessly pushing the hammering rainfall into glass over and over. It was as scary as it was a normal sight around here at this time of year. However, it's the thump on the door down the stairs that makes Dallas sit up and look across the room through the darkness. Through the silence of the house, for the window banging had at least sounded exterior, a sound like the door being hit so hard it was like someone or something was trying their level best to take it off its hinges sent a terrified chill through Dallas. "Holy shit....was that normal...I mean...not...is that supposed to happen?" he stutters, sounding really quite worried.

Although Dustyn has told himself over and over again that religion is a lot of bullshit and lives his life out as on atheist now, the Catholic faith still has some sort of grip on him. It used to terrify him growing up, hearing all of these "scary" stories about a man rising back from the dead not to mention how many of the devout followers held sheer hatred for homosexuals. Dustyn knew pretty much all of his life that he was into the same sex and this entire faith and belief system was the one thing standing in his way of becoming the person he really was inside. As a kid, he dare not challenge the faith of his family and the local village. It was like everyone was brainwashed; singing all the hymns in church, knowing the responses off by heart and having this very black and white view of things. Dustyn broke the system, eventually became more powerful than everyone back home and gave one big "fuck you" to everything. The last thing he needs to see is a picture of Mary giving him the evil eye while he's spending time with the man he loves. Images like those may bring peace to others, which he understands and respects. For Dustyn, however, they're associated with a very dark time of his life. "You don't need to hold my hand. We're all going to hell for liking a bit of bum fun, remember? It'd only be a matter of time before we would meet again." He laughs and playfully smacks his bottom again when Dallas says that it's something he believes in. Being a bottom, he loves a man who can appreciate his backside. "Guess my squats pay off then! Oh and don't think I don't see accounts like "Dallas' Booty". They got their hands on a picture of you in very fitting jeans and nearly exploded." Dustyn giggles. In all honesty, the attempt to pleasure Dallas was just a way of trying to forget about their surroundings and that horrid picture. Dallas may not have noticed but even Dustyn had lost his erection which speaks volumes considering how horny the little dude can be. The only blessing about the sudden banging around the house was that it avoided Dustyn going into a sulk because Dallas was no longer in the mood. He takes things like that to heart because, in his mind, oral sex with your boyfriend only has good connotations. Why reject being pleasured by your partner if there's not a deeply personal meaning behind it? Up at the top of the bed, Dustyn clings on to Dallas and wedges in as close as possible. Dustyn's lips are pressed against Dallas' ear while he tries to control his breathing after the scare. When Dallas sounds just as nervous and on edge as he feels, Dustyn decides it's time to just give in and admit how he feels. "Dallas...I really...I uh, really really don't like this place...." Dustyn confesses in a quiet, out of breath and really timid sounding voice. Dustyn can watch horror movies at night when he's all alone and think nothing of it when he goes to bed. Dallas is hardly a delicate flower either. Something about this place just installs a great sense of fear into them.

It was only really after he got to Ireland for real that Dallas learned how crazy into religion people could be. Although Irish catholics were plentiful in Chicago - his own family had moved over from Ireland over 100 years ago - he had never seen such religious imagery and quite so many pictures of figures from the bible as he did when he got to Ireland. It was particularly jarring here in the cottage. This was somewhere that was owned by Dustyn's immediate family, and it was literally packed with religious things, like some sort of Vatican warehouse outlet. All this when Dustyn was the campest most obviously gay man on earth was somewhat funny to Dallas, although when he thought of the problems Dustyn had faced as a young man because of that very fact, it made him feel sad. Being here, he could really see why Dustyn had suffered so much if his family had been this religious. Dallas himself had never really faced any sort of opposition to his sexuality. Very few people had even guessed he was gay until he came out to his friend, and when he did, no one judged him for it since he moved in a really arty scene in a cosmopolitan city space. It had been a very different experience for he and Dustyn, and sometimes he wished he could give his boyfriend some of his own happy memories of growing up. "Oh good," Dallas says with a laugh, pretending to be relieved. "I don't need the devil coming at me with a pussy to force on me before my time," he adds, chuckling at the thought of what hell might be like for gay people, forced into sex with women for all eternity. "Can you imagine that? The rest of time spent with only tits for pillows," he jokes, looking across at Dustyn as he turns the painting. "Yeah, but for every one page in tribute to me, I think you have about 9000," he smirks. "I did read some of those fan fic things though. They seem to really like us, the people that write those. I saw one where the writer had you getting done by my band and me getting done by yours," Dallas laughs hard at the memory of the fan fic. When Dustyn comes up to sit near him at the noise, sex was the last thing on either of their minds, despite the fact they had been so into it just a few minutes before. At the moment, they were both terrified at the noise, and Dallas wraps his arms tightly around Dustyn as he stares at the bedroom door as if expecting someone to come through it any second. Probably with an axe. Psychopaths loved axes. He's glad when Dustyn admits that he's scared, realising he's not the only one, but it makes Dallas feel as if he has to be the protector all of a sudden. "We should go see what it was..." he says quietly, convincing no one that he thought it was a good idea as he stands up out of bed.

Dustyn really holds a hatred for the religious symbols now. Although he knows that not everybody who is a Catholic is small minded like his family, his own personal experience of the religion has left him with a bad taste in his mouth. It's 2015 and times have changed. Even his close friend Riley is a Catholic and he's one of the kindest, most open minded people to have ever graced this planet but even seeing him holding onto a set of rosary beads churns his stomach. He often wonders what it must have been like to have had the freedom that Dallas had when growing up. Over in Dallas' city it may have been very crowded and a little claustrophobic at times with everything going on but at least he could be himself. Dustyn lived in what looked like a land of freedom with huge hills and fields as far as the eye could see but really, he was backed into a corner for the best part of his life. It's hard enough hiding who you really are but for someone like Dustyn, who has a strong personality and love for life, repressing it would have been hell. "Ew, Dallas! I'm already on edge as it is. Why bring up female body parts? You want me to start crying?" he chuckles, playfully hitting Dallas with a pillow. "Well there's many flaws in that fan fiction. I know you'd never let anyone do you up the arse. You don't even let me do that to you, not that I'm complaining about our roles in bed. I don't really know your band well enough to let them "do me". Although I'm pretty sure that since Kellin walked in on me naked one time, he's been giving me the eye ever since." Dustyn laughs and kisses Dallas on the cheek, showing him that he's still the only one he thinks about in that sort of way and that the Kellin comment was just a joke. The noises seemed to have calmed down for now and the wind seems to have eased. Doesn't stop the rain from showering the little lonely cottage though. When Dallas decides to get out of bed, Dustyn's heart skips a beat. He loves Dallas and if anything happened to him he wouldn't know what to do with himself. Dustyn also feels guilty as it was his idea to come all the way out here. Dustyn shuffles down to the bottom of the bed, trying to stay beside Dallas without having to step onto the floor. He whispers but still has a sense of urgency in his voice. "Dallas, don't leave the room! For a start, your big fat cock is swinging about the place!" Dustyn laughs softly but then realises that if they were to leave in a hurry, their clothes are scattered all over the room. They stripped each other like they were in some passionate love scene in a movie. Sock thrown in one corner, shirt over a chair, trousers God knows where. They just had to have each other in the moment. Looking back now it really wasn't a smart idea. Also, the light switch is on the far side of the room. To put it on, they'd have to walk past the door and he fears that someone or something will come in during their walk across the room. Another creak and a thud is heard and Dustyn's eyes dart towards the door. He then stands up off of the bed, not caring that he's naked too. "I'm coming with you..."

"Sorry, dude, I just imagine that's what hell will be like for guys like us, years and years with only pussy to fuck and endless horniness," he says with a laugh. When Dustyn mentions that Dallas is still naked, he laughs a little and shrugs. He figured that in the moment of fear he forgot to put his clothes back on before leaving the room. He was fully prepared to protect them both against the threat of a marauding psychopath, but he would definitely feel better about doing so if he had his bollocks covered. Something about having them exposed could only serve to make a man more vulnerable after all. He stops and pulls on a pair of his jeans that had been draped, probably purely by chance, over the back of a chair. He looks around again and picks up his phone, shining it at the bottom of the door in the room, for he was far too scared to head to the light switch or get any closer to the door itself. He watches for a few seconds, well aware that he is holding his breath, as if that would help. When he looks down, a big gust of wind blows across the house, and at the same time there's a loud creak in the hallway and a shadow moves across the beam of light coming from Dallas' phone. Chances are that the wind had simply sent a shadow of a tree moving through the window, but Dallas wasn't in the frame of mind where logic was his friend, and he lets out a gasp. "Shit!" he yells, moving to the desk in the corner. It was old as hell and even heavier, and he thinks it must be the best form of defence. With one almighty heave, he manages to shove it in front of the door, clearly now a little worried that someone was in the house. "Going where?" he asks. "I'm going nowhere."

Dustyn laughs along with Dallas when he realises that he's still naked. Not that the idea of tackling some psychopath in the nude wasn't already hilarious but the combination of fear and the unknown also makes Dustyn giggle uncontrollably. He covers his mouth with his hand, shaking a little as he tries to stifle his nervous laughter. He shakes, not knowing whether to continue laughing or burst into tears. "Dallas...I think I'd feel a lot safer if my protector's arse crack wasn't still showing. I think those are my jeans." He couldn't blame Dallas for throwing them on as it was pitch black and he just wanted to protect his privates as quickly as possible. Not that Dallas is all that big, but Dustyn is rather small and slender with a tiny waist so it's a bit of a tight squeeze getting into his stuff. When Dallas panics and drags the heavy desk across the room to barricade the door, Dustyn fears for their lives. Dustyn's imagination always runs wild but Dallas usually has his head screwed on tight so to see him so distressed and taking such drastic action makes him feel like there really is something to fear. He sits back in the centre of the bed, covers wrapped around his naked body as he trembles and looks over at his boyfriend. "Dallas...I'm sorry...I only wanted to have a nice time away with you. I didn't mean for this." Dustyn sounds very apologetic and extremely frightened. It's obvious that he's holding back tears too as he feels a flurry of guilt and terror take over him. He's also becoming increasingly worried about how he's going to cope with Dallas. Dustyn's usually the one demonstrating extreme emotions while Dallas is pretty chilled out and level headed. Dallas always has a plan or is at least able to bring Dustyn back down to earth when his head is away but he fears that the two of them will act like headless chickens tonight and that might mean Dustyn has to step up to the plate and take charge. "Wh-what can we do? There's no signal out here. Come back into bed, please." Dustyn shifts around and lifts up the covers for Dallas. It's not likely that a quilt will provide much protection against whatever it is they're fearing but it's the only idea he has right now.

When Dustyn laughs, Dallas is almost a little annoyed at him. It seemed like he was making some sort of joke out of this, but Dallas quickly realised that it was more nervous laughter than anything else. He clearly wasn't really laughing at the prospect of their death from the murderous probable Irish demon that was stalking the corridor outside of their room. He looks across at Dustyn when he speaks and then looks down, trying not to laugh himself now at how ridiculous he looks in Dustyn's jeans. "Shit," he says, smirking a little and then wiping the smile away. He quickly pulls them off and then gets into his own jeans, fastening them and immediately feeling much more comfortable, not that it helped in a situation like this. With the desk in place, he steps back and feels a little safer. It would take some effort to be able to push the desk out of the way with only a door to use for leverage, and he was confident it would hold for now. All the same, he hoped no one would actually try to open the door anyway. He looks across at Dustyn getting back into bed and shakes his head. "Look, Dustyn, can you like...do something..? Maybe get dressed," he sighs. "Sitting there won't help if we need to run." His suggestion that they get back into bed together made Dallas look at him exasperated. Was this really a time to pretend like nothing was happening. "Come on! We can't just lay there and wait for something to happen," he says, trying his best not to snap at Dustyn. He knew that he was hardly the best at handling out of the ordinary situations, and shouting at him was hardly likely to help. "Get dressed! We're leaving," he says, walking to the window and looking for a way to unlock it. It was clearly time to decide - fight or flight - and he knew that staying to face whoever was out there was not something he was prepared for.

Dustyn's heart is pounding. It's going at such a rapid speed that he can hear it and feel it trying to escape from his chest. Of course laughing at something as silly as Dallas putting on the wrong jeans isn't going to help but during such an abnormal situation like this, the thought process is all over the place. Even though the desk is in place and barricading the door, Dustyn doesn't feel any more relaxed and that's because of the way Dallas is acting. He doesn't blame him for being out of character during this time as they could very well die at any moment if there really is something out there. Dustyn has a very mild form of autism and doesn't cope very well with change. He likes familiarity and feeling secure. Knowing Dallas for almost two years, he's never seen him act like this nor have the couple ever really entered into an argument. He sort of senses Dallas becoming a little bit nippy towards him, especially after he tells him to "do something", which he actually though he was doing by trying to get Dallas back over to keep him safe and away from the door. Dustyn sighs and walks across the room, surveying the floor in the dark and picking up items of clothing. He puts on his boxers and a vest top but can't find the shirt he had over it or his socks. Dustyn picks up his trousers, the ones that Dallas had on and looks at him sheepishly. "Dallas, I can't find the rest of my stuff in the dark." He fears that Dallas will really snap at him this time. Dustyn slowly walks over to the window and flicks up a little snib on the right hand side of the window, hoping that being able to open the window makes up for not being able to find his stuff. Dustyn seems rather quiet and reserved now which isn't like him. He's more worried about irking Dallas than being slaughtered. The rain sounds even louder now that the window has been opened. It ferociously bounces off the ground and even two seconds out in it would soak them right through.

Dallas was actually relatively cool at the moment, even if it didn't seem that way to anyone who might be watching him. He had that sort of mentality that was just to do something and instinct always kicked in if he was in trouble. He was flapping, sure, and he was panicked, but it didn't mean that his mind wasn't working hard to come up with a solution. The desk going in front of the door was the first part of his autopilot's plan, and he had to trust that his instincts might keep them both alive if indeed they were under attack. Dallas hears Dustyn sigh as he starts to find his clothes and knows that he has upset him somewhat with his rushing about and almost barking ideas. However, this was no time for sentiment and he couldn't very well stop and try to calm him when something could come through the door at any second. It was more important that they get clear of the cottage. He could apologise for upsetting Dustyn later. "Make sure you wear as much as you can," Dallas says as calmly as he can muster. "It doesn't look like a nice night out and we're gonna have to leave some time," he says, never taking his eyes off the door even as he fumbles for the catch on the window. When Dustyn flicks it open, Dallas smiles a little. He was much cooler under pressure than he liked to portray after all. "Just...use your phone for light and try to find your stuff," he says again with a half smile. "If you can't find it we'll go without it," he nods, still staring at the door as he opens the window and is immediately hit with a chilly wind and a driving rain that chills him to the bone. They had no choice, though, they had to get out there. In here was too dangerous. Dallas shines a beam of light momentarily at the floor and finds his shoes and hoody, pulling each of the items of clothing on quickly. Looking back to the window, he narrows his eyes. It was going to be cold and wet for sure. And dark. They would need to run and simply hope for the best. "You think you'll be ok climbing outta this window?" he asks Dustyn calmly.

When he sees Dallas wind down a little and take control of the situation again, Dustyn relaxes slightly. He's not entirely content, mainly due to the fact that they're being chased out of the cottage by God knows what but at least he knows that Dallas' head hasn't entirely went away and that there may actually be a decent plan of action. He tightens his belt, breathing in hard during the process. The last thing he wants is to be running for his life only for his trousers to fall down to his ankles and send him flying. When the window opens, he steps back and winces while sucking air in through his teeth. The weather is biting and shows absolutely no mercy. Dustyn folds his arms, trying to keep himself warm which proved futile considering he's only weather a light vest top on his upper body. "Where are we even going to go?," he asks, knowing fine well that Dallas has no clue about the surrounding areas but he's still curious about the plan he has in mind. When Dallas suggests using the phone for light, Dustyn reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. 24% battery. He sighs even though that there's no signal out here anyway but a fully charged phone always makes him feel secure no matter what and if they're relying on them for light, a longer battery life would be appreciated. He shines his phone across the room and sees one shoe lying in the centre. As soon as he takes one step, the bedroom door shakes. Now, in actual fact, the wind coming into the room was the cause of the movement in the old door but as they're convinced that this place is like something from a Silent Hill game, it was definitely someone trying to get into the room as far as they're concerned. Fuck the socks. Fuck the shoes. Fuck the shirt. Fuck the overpriced watch. Dustyn gasps, turns on his heels and heads straight for the window. "Come on, Dallas!" he commands at a rapid speed, almost too fast to even understand. Dustyn's very small and agile so legging it out a window, swinging around to the drain pipe and doing a little abseiling down a small cottage is piss easy. He could do it in a heartbeat just for fun but now that his life depends on it, Dustyn gets out and down in just a matter of seconds. His bare feet splash into a puddle and sends a deadly chill throughout his body. The rain nearly drowns him right there and then. His bright blonde fluffy hair is clamped down to his head and turns to a dirty fair colour almost immediately. He stays still though, looking up at the window as he waits for Dallas.

When the bedroom door shakes, Dallas looks shocked. It was just the wind, and without the rest of what had happened so far, Dallas would probably have realised that that was all it was. However, in a state like this? Like this, with everything they had thought they were experiencing, he was sure someone was coming in to kill them in the most gruesome way. Instinctively, he grabs Dustyn and pushes him behind himself, making sure that Dustyn is behind him, near the window, with Dallas between him and the door. When he hears his boyfriend shout, he looks behind him and motions towards the window. "Go, get out of here," he yells, looking around the room. Dallas needed a weapon. He knew that. If anyone or anything attacked them, it would make a difference if they had some way to fight back, even if it did turn out to be futile in the end. He can't see anything automatically, so he goes towards the bed and kicks the corner until a part of the leg snaps off, leaving him with a stake almost. It was short but long enough and very very spiky and sharp. He smiles momentarily and then makes his way towards Dustyn at the window. He looks out and smiles at him. "Anywhere. We just need to get away from here and we'll be fine," he says in a voice that sounded far more convincing than he expected it to. He sounded far more confident than he felt, but he was pleased. It was important to make sure Dustyn was feeling better and calm. It would help them both a lot if he was calm. Moving to the window again, Dallas almost leaps out, grabbing onto the top sill as he does. When he looks down, he hesitates for a second, he was scared of heights after all, before he drops into the garden, landing on the soggy grass and slipping a little. Steadying himself, he makes sure he still has his weapon and then presses himself to the wall. Dallas looks at Dustyn and then hugs him tightly. "Let's go!" he yells through the wind, using his hand to shield his face, before pointing at a nearby fence and starting to run towards it, doing his very best to ignore the driving rain battering against his face, impairing his vision greatly.

Dustyn steps back to give Dallas some room to land. He doesn't mind Dallas on top of him on a regular basis but in these circumstances and from that height it was probably best to keep his distance and leave the close contact for another time. When he sees Dallas approach the window, grabbing onto the top sill and clearly just going for one big leap rather than Dustyn's abseiling like approach, he feels his heart in his mouth as he fears Dallas could have a bad landing. Dustyn barely notices the perfectly executed jumping and landing due to the heavy rain battering against his face. He hears a bit of a splash and the next thing he knows, Dallas is in the garden with him holding the sort of stake looking thing that he created. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer, much?" Dustyn giggles, thinking it's best to try and lighten up the mood. They're outside and safe so it's fine to have a little joke now, right? He lets Dallas hug him tightly and although it only lasts for a second before they take off, Dustyn really embraces it as he's relieved that they both managed to escape the house unharmed. Dustyn follows Dallas towards the gate and lets him lead the way even though this is his first time in this area. Dustyn has more of an idea of their surroundings but last time he was here was back in 2007 and even then all he can really remember is grass, grass, more grass and the fact that the nearest little town is still a good while away. To head back towards the town they'd have to take a left and even if they do manage to get there, he's pretty sure that nobody will take them in. It seems like the land that time forgot. Barely anyone walks the streets, there are only two or three shops and the flashiest car there is probably a 1991 Ford Orion. Also, a prison for the criminally insane towers and watches over it from high up on the hills. "Dallas...if we're looking for shelter then we best take a left but it's going to take ages. Just a warning." Dustyn sweeps his soaked hair back from his face and shivers, feeling a deep chill throughout his body. His white vest top looks transparent as it sticks to his skin while his jeans have gone from a fairly light blue to almost black due to the torrential rain.

"You know I got to channel my fierce female," Dallas jokes when Dustyn comments on hos makeshift weapon. He liked that even at a time like this Dustyn would try to joke a little. He supposed it was his way of trying to keep everything calm and trying to make sure that it didn't all get too serious and scary. Not that it wasn't scary already, but it certainly helped to have a little joke. As they make their way towards the gate and get through it, Dallas is almost relieved. In most movies, one of them would have for sure broken a leg or fallen into a pit filled with spikes by now. As it was they had at least escaped the garden. Way he saw it, they were already most of the way there. In his state of fear, he doesn't realise that, of course, he has no clue where he's going, whereas Dustyn has been here a million times before. He couldn't even remember the way they had come in earlier, but that didn't bother him at all. All he knew was that if they got clear of the house they would be getting away from whatever the hell was back there, and that could only be a good thing. "Come on," he yells through the rain, wiping the water from his face in a move that was entirely futile. Running to the right, he looks around, sure he can see a tall building towering over the landscape. It looked rather official and although it was a hell of a way off in the distance, he was sure there must be someone working there who can help them. As he runs, he grips the stake in his hand tightly, scared to drop it in weather he was sure would stop him from ever finding it again.

"If you're going to be Buffy can I please be Willow? She is my favourite." Dustyn laughs again, just trying to keep the joking and conversation flowing to take his mind off of everything that is going on. Being soaked and chilled to the bone while running from some sort of Irish demon isn't really easy to shake off though. Every little giggle and smile is really just a mask used to cover up the fear consuming him. Just when he thought he was safe out here with Dallas, he remembers that psychopaths can also travel too. If someone was in the house, they could eventually get into the bedroom, see the clothes left behind, notice the opened window and then hop out and chase after them. Dustyn swiftly turns to face the cottage again just to check if anyone is behind them but it was pointless. The buckets of rain cloak the whole cottage so he's hardly going to see a figure through it all. Dustyn follows Dallas down the route he suggested while praying that the weather eases up along the way. It's a good old walk back to "civilisation" and it's pitch black out. The rain certainly isn't helping them in their quest. Even if they end up spending the night with an old woman who still uses coal and reads by candlelight, it is absolutely fine. As long as Dustyn gets to dry off and warm up he's not caring where he ends up staying. Being barefoot and only having a vest top on his upper half really is proving difficult for him out in this terrible weather. His little arms are already red raw and they still have a great distance to go. "We'll be OK, won't we!?" he yells over the rainfall, taking a tight hold of Dallas' hand as they start to sprint down the road. All of the shivers and sniffles make it quite clear to Dallas that he's suffering but Dustyn refuses to say anything. Complaining won't exactly help matters. Suddenly a few flashes fill the sky. "Holy shit!!" Thunder. Great.

Dallas thinks for a minute and sizes Dustyn up and down before narrowing his eyes. "Hmmmm....no. You're not gay enough," he says, clearly joking since Dustyn was among the gayest people that anyone on the planet could ever hope to meet. It was funny that even at times like this they could have such a fun back and forth between them, although in many ways it was probably because of the situation rather than in spite of it...joking to forget the real danger they really were in. Dallas doesn't notice Dustyn looking back at the house. If he had he would tell him to never look back. Sure, they might be followed, but it was better to run and not know rather than to look back and see something chasing them, only to panic and not be able to run at all. Dallas keeps on running, listening carefully to make sure he can hear Dustyn's feet splashing along beside him. He wanted to stop to reassure him when he asked, but there was no way they could chance stopping now. Aside from the fear of being caught, he was worried that if they stopped they would be unceremoniously ambushed by literal hypothermia, killing them flat out. He turns his head for a moment and nods as best he can in the cold and rain. "Shit...yes, we'll be fine," he shouts, stumbling a little over a clump of mud sticking out from the floor. He grabs Dustyn's hand and looks for somewhere, anywhere, that was different from the plain flat land they were running across. "Here!" he yells as he sees a fence, darting towards a field. Fields had to lead to something, right?

"Not gay enough? My arse!" Dustyn shakes his head and laughs, glad that Dallas was at least bouncing off of him and keeping the playfulness going. He knows for a fact that Dallas is equally as terrified and that his boyfriend also understands how he is feeling too. It makes Dustyn happy to know that Dallas is still looking out for him and still trying to ease everything even in a situation like this. When people panic, Dustyn also starts to panic and a lot of the time he won't know how to cope with the situation and just have a breakdown on the spot. Being on the lower end of the autistic spectrum, intense emotions can still have a huge impact on Dustyn and there are times when he just tries his best to block everything out. Luckily for Dallas, Dustyn hasn't curled up into a ball and pressed his head into ground as a way of escaping everything. Although it could be a matter of time before Dustyn freaks out and takes an unexpected turn. As long as Dallas keeps the conversation and reassurance going then it should be fine though. The rain starts to calm and although it's still falling rapidly, it's not as ferocious and heavy as before. Their vision is no longer impaired by it which is something at least. The wailing of the wind isn't showing any sign of letting up though. "Maybe there's a farmhouse nearby!? Fields need a farmer, right?" Dustyn sounds ecstatic when he realises that they might find shelter soon than expected. Even though Dallas isn't facing him, he could probably tell that Dustyn had the cheesiest grin on his face right now. Entering the field, Dustyn slips on huge wet leaves and falls to his knees while almost bringing Dallas down with him. "Ah, sorry..." he winces, rubbing his battered kneecaps as he gets back up onto his feet. He notices the crops growing in size the further they delve into the land and soon realises that they are in a corn field. Shining his torch on the towering stem, he can see that the crops are all in good condition so there must be someone tending to them. He has a little slide again but manages to regain balance.

Dallas nods when Dustyn asks if a field means there must be a farmer nearby. He almost even lets a smile creep onto his lips as he feels a real sense of relief washing over him. It was nice to be able to feel something - the cold rain and wind meant that he felt like 90% of his body was completely numb. "There must be a farmhouse at the other side of these fields. We can just get through there and they have to give us somewhere to sleep," he yells through the wind hopefully. As they hop the fence and land, Dallas grabs Dustyn to stop him going face first into the mud. He was already soaked through but it would still serve him well not to be covered head to toe in mud. "Careful," he says with a little laugh, before he helps him stand up again. The mood was much more positive now that they had become sure they would be saved by a kindly farmer and his lovely wife soon. Dallas could almost taste the cocoa he was sure they would make him and feel the warm fluffy towel they would give him already wrapped around him. Realising he's daydreaming, he quickly snaps out of it and looks towards the corn. They weren't home and dry yet. Following the beam of light from Dustyn's phone, he takes his hand and starts to walk forward, pushing the first of the massive stalks to the side as he starts to walk into them with Dustyn behind. It couldn't be too far through here. The field seemed under control too, which was a good sign of life nearby.

Dustyn is relieved when he realises that they are close to finding a lovely little farmhouse to lay their heads for the night. He has absolutely no idea how far away it is nor in which direction to head. They can barely see over the tall, healthy crops but forward seems to be the answer that works most of the time so off they go, venturing straight ahead. At this point Dustyn is less worried about what was in the house and is more focused on just getting dry. His arms and feet are red raw and the headache that's coming on courtesy of the chill in the air isn't exactly a pleasant sensation. Hot chocolate, big warm blankets and cuddles with his boyfriend in front of a fire is exactly what the doctor ordered. "Dallas, let's never come here again, OK? Next time we want to go somewhere we'll go to the streets of Detroit. They seem a lot safer," he jokes, managing to let a little laugh out through all the shivering and sniffling. After pushing through stubborn stems and being smacked in the face by a few, Dustyn slips again on a pile of leaves. "Oh for fuck's sake," he mumbles, rubbing his hands together to clean the mud off of them as best as he can. Looking up, he can see that they've stumbled about a little clearing in the field. It explains all the slippery mess on the ground and means that Dustyn will have to tread carefully if he doesn't want to go on his arse again. A tractor sits to the left, still in perfect condition and in working order so obviously someone is not too far. By the looks of it, work only started in this area today but had to be abandoned due to the freak weather. Shining his phone across the lot, Dustyn gasps in horror and shoots back up onto his feet. Taking a second look though, he can see that it's just a scarecrow which has fallen down from its post. The black mass of material lays slumped on the ground like a drunk with chunks of hay poking out of it and a tattered fedora hat placed on top of it. "Looks like he's had a bit too much," he jokes, playfully nudging Dallas. His heart is still pounding after thinking he discovered a dead body and the laughter and joking is still more out of nervousness than anything else. Shines surveys the rest of the clearing and sees five scarecrows in total. The one on the far end is still on its post, minus its lovely hat. The second one looks like it's slipped down but one arm remains outstretched and attached to the pole. The third has been total destroyed. Dustyn already laid eyes on the fourth one earlier and the fifth one is missing a head altogether. "Right, so...farmhouse?" Dustyn smiles and begins to walk slowly through the clearing but his eyes are drawn to the second scarecrow for some reason. In all honesty, he is a little scared of that one and he has no idea why. Something is just really "off" about it.

"I'll be honest, I've gone right off Ireland. Let's go to like Baghdad next time. Somewhere safe," he jokes along with Dustyn, before he shivers, chilled to the bone. Although it had been a while since the driving rain calmed down and stopped hitting them like it had the intention to hurt them, but the cold wind blowing into their cold clothes, sticking items of clothing to their skin, made them feel intensely cold, like the sort of cold that made Dallas feel like he could drop at any second. Suddenly he didn't feel like joking much more as the wind again howled, making the cold within him feel so intense it actually hurt. Until that moment in his life he had no idea that cold could actually be a painful experience. As they keep walking through the field, Dallas uses his hand to swat aside stalks of corn, tall and strong as they were. They bounced back and occasionally slapped against his arm, which just made the painful cold even worse, causing him to almost cry out in pain. But now wasn't the time for seeming weak. He wanted to appear strong for Dustyn. When they come to the clearing, it was obvious that someone had been there recently, which was such a good feeling to Dallas. Although he had been positive about finding the farm and getting help, Dallas still worried a bit about the possibility that they would arrive at the farmhouse only to find it had been abandoned for years. To see the modern tractor and the freshly erected scarecrows, was a positive for them. The scarecrows though...Dallas had always hated those creepy bastards. Like life sized voodoo dolls that just threatened to leap from their perched prison and wreak havoc. He had suffered nightmares about them as a kid, and when Jeepers Creepers the movie had been released, it had haunted his teenage years too. Now that he was here, terrified and freezing, he felt sure that these scarecrows would be all that he'd remember, haunting his 20s as well. Such was his fear of the scarecrows that Dallas seems to ignore Dustyn's joke, not even reacting slightly to what he said about one having had too much. He was just scanning them all, making sure that none of them had ideas to come to life and leap on him, enacting that lifelong fear that had always enveloped him. It was why he had always lived in the city. There were no scarecrows where there were no fields after all. As they walk past the scarecrows and start to see a path to where the farmhouse will be, Dallas smiles a little at Dustyn, trying to ignore his fear. "Farmhouse," he nods, pointing along the little path he was sure would lead to warmth and safety. As he does though, he was sure he saw movement out of the corner of his eye, and a little creak from the second scarecrow causes him to gasp loudly. Looking over, he sees the scarecrow lull a little more against its pole in the wind. It was just being dislodged it appeared. The weather was that bad after all.
