Haunted sampled voices over repeating string figures, with train funnels blowing steam. Pretty damned mind blowing.

Assuming you got the Ryko version, rather than finding a long out-of-print pressing of the original album, the drums and bass on the record were re-recorded in the 80s, which gives the album a frankly bizarre sound. I'd love to find the original, because I like the songs, but the 50s style do-wop does not work with 80s style drum and bass recordings.
