This one is for SpringChicken
Britney Spears IS an artist. Point blank period. Specifically a performing artist.
Artist (definition from wikipedia)- is wide-ranging and covers a broad spectrum of activities to do with creating art, practicing the arts and/or demonstrating an
art. Art (definition from wikipedia)- Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music, literature, film, sculpture, and paintings. The meaning of art is explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics.
Musician (definition from wikipedia)- musician is a person who performs or writes music.
Now moving on to the mainstream talk. Just because a song is played a lot doesn't mean it is "
shit". Some types of music does not appeal to everyone and just because it doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it isn't art or that it is
"shit". Especially if you are raised in an urban area, your views on music
could be completely different. Not all music is meant to have a special meaning anyway. A song does not need sarcasm or double meaning lyrics to be considered artistic. Also, if everyone listened or liked the same thing I think this would be a boring world. And it is true many music that is made don't have any thought in it or the song is digitally processed. Music is evolving, if you wanna get stuck in the past good for you but don't come bashing on the younger generation just because the music doesn't appeal to you.
Get an I-pod. <--Good tip.
Britney Spears has had a huge impact in my life musically and that's why I respect her and I call her an artist. And I am a fan and I do buy her music and I like to talk about it thats why I made a thread.
If music genres were to be segregated in this forum, no one would be on this forum. So what is the problem? Why is her music doing to you that is getting you all worked up?
