Why do people lose their accents when they sing? Ozzy can barely talk but he sings great. Foreign people dont even know what they are singing about, but they can sing english songs just like they were English themselves. English people also sound American when they sing...why? |

I guess English people are so bombarded with American music nowadays it's quite common for people to base their vocals off an American and just like doing an accent imitation they actually adjust and begin to sing like that, but about Ozzy I'd like to disagree with him singing great... ;) |

It is because actual proper singing is essentially accent-less. If you're not trained, then a lot of your accent creeps in. Not that one was is necessarily better than the other. But to be honest, I'm a little tired of hearing all these "we're not really trying" singers singing bland songs about bland things in various British accents. It's a stylistic thing, but they do as though it makes them more "real", more "honest", more "true to life", yet it sounds to my ears much more fake. Lily Allen is a perfect example of that, the accent is much stronger when she sings than when she speaks. |

No no dude he's a 60 year old man who was wacked out on drugs for a good 30 years not to mention he's from birmingham I'm pretty sure he isn't faking.Plus Tony Iommi sorta talks like him too only you can understand him. |

That's just because they can't speak good English. |
