Shooting Star Records Artist Interview #4 Hello Sally Stevenson nice to have you hear supporting your label Shooting Star Records.Sally: Thank you, I’m very happy to do this.
Very well, now I would like to get on with this short interview, just to give our fans something to tune into that would really keep them interested in you, as well as the label itselfHow do you currently feel about Shooting Star Records and Malory Evans?Sally: This label is so great. I love how Malory is signing artists of completely different genres with no discrimination. It’s probably the best thing to happen in the music industry in a long time, to be honest, and it’s such an honor to be a part of it.
How did you feel when you were first signed and what happened after you were signed?Sally: I was so happy when I got the offer for a recording contract. I never imagined that I’d be signed to a label so soon. I didn’t think I was worthy of it. Everything has been better since then. More people have noticed me and my music, and overall it’s been such a boost to my career.
How do you currently feel about All Around The World and the Top 4?Sally: They’re all very talented people in their own way. I honestly don’t think I could pick a winner. I love Book of Love, and Miles in Minutes. Oh, what can I say, I love them all.
Who would you be most excited to see on Shooting Star Records after All Around The World?Sally: Ugh, you’re making me choose one? Fine, let’s say Book of Love. Their music is very unique and I think they’d be a great addition to the label.
How has your album and single gone? (For artists who already released an album and single)Sally: The success of both my latest single and my album has been overwhelming. My first album “Underneath the Waves” has sold over 275,000 copies in the United States alone. And my second single, and first after signing with Shooting Star, “Drop Me A Line” has also done very well. It peaked at #7 on the radio charts and sold more than 250,000 copies.
Who are your inspirations in the music business? Who do you like and dislike?Sally: I’m a huge fan of The Bards. I love Cristina Lake, too. As for dislikes, I’m not so sure I have any. I’ll admit that I’m not as much into artists like Stephanie Fierce and Miss Vanity. They’re all talented, just not my thing.
What do you think of your current label mates on Shooting Star Records ?Sally: I think that GIFTSTAR have a very promising future. I’ve listened to their album and it was unlike anything I’d heard before, but in a good way. I love Jenny Hudson’s music, too. I have to say that I’m not much of a fan of Brittany Knox, but I’m sure she’s a great person.
And lastly, what can we expect in the future for (your name will be filled in) ?Sally: I’m not up to much right now, just dealing with personal issues. I’ve had a few ideas for new songs, though. You’ll just have to wait and see.
