Shooting Star Records Artist Interview #3

UserPostedImage

Hello Jenny Hudson, nice to have you here supporting your label Shooting Star Records.

Jenny: Thanks, It's great to be here, How you doing.

Very well, now I would like to get on with this short interview, just to give our fans something to tune into that would really keep them interested in you, as well as the label itself

How do you currently feel about Shooting Star Records and Malory Evans?

Jenny: It's amazing, It's a new label but there's quite a bit of quality on the label and Malory's great, I owe a lot to her.

How did you feel when you were first signed and what happened after you were signed?

Jenny: It was out of this world, I had played in the 4th Street Band and I wanted to go solo and show what I could do, I'm very grateful for being signed to this label and after I was signed I went out and celebrated with a couple of friends.

How do you currently feel about All Around The World and the Top 4?

Jenny: Yeah it's pretty good, it gives people the chance to get a record deal and it gets them attention before they even have a record contract.

Who would you be most excited to see on Shooting Star Records after All Around The World?

Jenny: Ummm, I think Daniel James Law is pretty good and Sara Daniels, are they still in it?

How has your album and single gone?

Jenny: Yeah the album did Ok. It peaked at 34 in the US, but I didn't do very much promotion for it and debut's are always difficult but I'm happy with it and I'm comfortable with the level of attention.

Who are your inspirations in the music business? Who do you like and dislike?

Jenny: I don't think it's a case of like and dislike, I'm a fan of the obvious acts like Stephanie Fierce and Miss Vanity. I don't dislike anyone, I think Brittany Knox is just miss-understood but I wouldn't say there's anyone I dislike.

What do you think of your current label mates on Shooting Star Records ?

Jenny: They're alright, I don't really speak to them very much. I've spoken to Sally Stevenson quite a bit and she's an incredible musician and a very kind person, we could become good friends. Giftstar are a pretty good group. I haven't met Brittany Knox yet but I'm sure she's a very nice girl.

And lastly, what can we expect in the future for Jenny ?

Jenny: I dunno, I Know I'm going on a tour called All We Want Is, which should be pretty good fun, I'm not thinking about a follow up album though.

Shooting Star Records Artist Interview #4

UserPostedImage

Hello Sally Stevenson nice to have you hear supporting your label Shooting Star Records.

Sally: Thank you, I’m very happy to do this.

Very well, now I would like to get on with this short interview, just to give our fans something to tune into that would really keep them interested in you, as well as the label itself

How do you currently feel about Shooting Star Records and Malory Evans?

Sally: This label is so great. I love how Malory is signing artists of completely different genres with no discrimination. It’s probably the best thing to happen in the music industry in a long time, to be honest, and it’s such an honor to be a part of it.

How did you feel when you were first signed and what happened after you were signed?

Sally: I was so happy when I got the offer for a recording contract. I never imagined that I’d be signed to a label so soon. I didn’t think I was worthy of it. Everything has been better since then. More people have noticed me and my music, and overall it’s been such a boost to my career.

How do you currently feel about All Around The World and the Top 4?

Sally: They’re all very talented people in their own way. I honestly don’t think I could pick a winner. I love Book of Love, and Miles in Minutes. Oh, what can I say, I love them all.

Who would you be most excited to see on Shooting Star Records after All Around The World?

Sally: Ugh, you’re making me choose one? Fine, let’s say Book of Love. Their music is very unique and I think they’d be a great addition to the label.

How has your album and single gone? (For artists who already released an album and single)

Sally: The success of both my latest single and my album has been overwhelming. My first album “Underneath the Waves” has sold over 275,000 copies in the United States alone. And my second single, and first after signing with Shooting Star, “Drop Me A Line” has also done very well. It peaked at #7 on the radio charts and sold more than 250,000 copies.

Who are your inspirations in the music business? Who do you like and dislike?

Sally: I’m a huge fan of The Bards. I love Cristina Lake, too. As for dislikes, I’m not so sure I have any. I’ll admit that I’m not as much into artists like Stephanie Fierce and Miss Vanity. They’re all talented, just not my thing.

What do you think of your current label mates on Shooting Star Records ?

Sally: I think that GIFTSTAR have a very promising future. I’ve listened to their album and it was unlike anything I’d heard before, but in a good way. I love Jenny Hudson’s music, too. I have to say that I’m not much of a fan of Brittany Knox, but I’m sure she’s a great person.

And lastly, what can we expect in the future for (your name will be filled in) ?

Sally: I’m not up to much right now, just dealing with personal issues. I’ve had a few ideas for new songs, though. You’ll just have to wait and see.

Er... thank you? Well at least you were being honest. Not everyone is into my music. I am a weirdo, so no shock there. - Stephanie F. Johnson.

I am very grateful to have Matty on Shooting Star Records. I know he wasn't happy with his last label and that has nothing to do with me, but I'm sure he'll love Shooting Star Records -Malory Evans

Lights Go Red

I love singing new bands to my label because I'm the first to see what their capable of and what they do with their first pieces of work makes us either look great, or really bad but I believe in Lights Go Red. They have a completely different sound with their pieces of work that I do have and that adds to the versatility this label has. - Malory Evans

Plans for the near future Malory?

Quote:
Good Question! A lot actually! As everyone can see, the Shooting Star Records label is becoming quite big and memorable and we got lots of stars who have signed on recently. What I'm fully focused on right now is The All Around The World Competition. Directly after that, we will be creating a collaboration album featuring all the acts on the Label, including myself and the AATW Champion. This album will be a gamble but it will be worth it. It will have every artist on the label doing something on the album, contributing to one or more tracks. Kinda like we are gonna match two artists together and have them create a track. I am so excited about this and I already got in mind who I want to be making tracks together on the album. Some really weird match ups and some matches made in heaven! It should be really an amazing trip and as soon as the competition is over, we will begin recording the collaboration album. And as time comes closer and closer each two pairs will be revealed. Not even the artists know who their recording with yet.

AATW Competition, when is it over?

Quote:
So on Sunday, which is tomorrow, one band will be eliminated leaving the Top 3 and then, YOU the people will vote on the winner of All Around The World. So sometime this coming week a winner should be crowned! Very excited! Book Of Love, Sara Daniels, The Golden Strikes and Miles In Minutes are all eager to find out whats going to happen next. So everyone should stay tuned and see whos going to be eliminated tomorrow as well as the Miss Vanity Concert!

MALORY EVANS AT IT AGAIN!

Label head, show creator and critic Malory Evans has opened up on her next project: a LABEL-ONLY COLLABORATION ALBUM

Quote:
I will be creating a collaboration album featuring all the acts on the Label, including myself and the AATW Champion. This album will be a gamble but it will be worth it. It will have every artist on the label doing something on the album, contributing to one or more tracks. Kinda like we are gonna match two artists together and have them create a track. Yes, now that AATW Season 1 is coming to an end on Friday, Malory is finally ready to start recording the album!

Quote:
I think its time. I got just a few more contract signings going on, and once these finalize, for a few months SSR will not be receiving or pending any contracts for the whole writing & recording process. This project will easily be a success in my opinion.

The first group up I thought would be amazing to get in the studio together is :
Matty & Allura Silk! (OOC: Please PM me)
