"Then it'll be all gone." She looks at her phone then puts it in her purse. "Well, seems I'm getting a ticket home now. Sorry to cut this short but I have to make it to my flight. Thanks for the advice, you're a bigger asset than I thought." She laughs a little and stands up, leaving enough money to pay for her and his food. "Don't say I never did anything for you, see you back home." She grabs her stuff and walks out of the cafe, getting a cab to her hotel room then to the airport.

Josh Meyer is walking around London with his newly acquired smartphone in front of him, following Google maps as he tried to find a grocery store he had been told by his friends was rather good. Despite having been here for around a month now, he was still uncertain about where anything was. The fact that the streets were not all in a rather convenient and sensible block system like back home didn't help him. He sometimes passed the same spot three or four times before he had even realised it.

After a few minutes, the slightly awkward and charming American crooner looked up from his phone at last, the corners of his lips curling up ever so slightly as he realised he had hit the jackpot at last.

"Hey...there you are buddy!" He grinned at the shopfront. "A whole month to find this huh? I hope it's worth it."

Chuckling to himself, Josh pushed his smartphone back into the pocket of his long black coat before brushing his mid-length dark curly hair out of his face. He walked into the store, smiling at the security guard who looked far too posh to be guarding just any store. This one must be good. He pulled a shopping cart out from the pile and wandered into the store, nonchalantly looking at all the organic products on sale.

Josh continued round the store, shaking his head occasionally at the sheer size of the place and the range that it carried. He had always tried to be organic in the past, but it wasn't so easy back in LA. No one had the time for seeking out specialist stuff, and if they did, there certainly wasn't anything like an audience for anything as big as this.

Walking around, he picked up a few items, dropping them into his cart as he went. Stopping to pick up some cereal, he made eye contact with an old lady who was buying some porridge oats. Still unfamiliar with the etiquette of a city like London, he broke protocol by speaking to someone who he wasn't paying for a service.

"Hey...this place is so amazing. If I wasn't so cool, I think I'd write a blog about it later." He wasn't sure if the cold look the old lady shot him was in reference to his mentioning a blog; perhaps she was not as technically advanced as he was yet, or if she had just genuinely offended her. Shrugging, he continued around the store.

Josh was walking on after talking to the old lady and chuckling to himself at how funny it was that he couldn't speak to anyone around here. He scratched his hand through his long curly mane and day dreamed, as he continued to walk around the aisles, picking up a few boxes of cereal and reading them before picking out his favourite two and putting them into his cart. He chuckled again as he marked the items off on his list and continued walking forward, leaning over the cart and crossing things off with his pen.

As he wasn't watching where he was going he felt himself bump into something and looked up to see the dark-haired girl he had just walked into. He held his hand up in front of his face and put his other hand out in front of him, waving it quickly.

"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention there. Sorry. Are you alright?"

Josh looked totally mortified that he had walked into someone when he was too busy concentrating on his list. He shook his head and started to apologise again before he heard her speak. He tried not to laugh at the comment that she said about getting caught up looking at cereal boxes, fighting to keep the corners of his mouth from curling into a smile.

"Don't be silly. You were standing there...ummm...reading your "literature". I was the dumb one who wasn't looking where I was going. Sorry, I was too busy thinking about that old lady."

He pointed back to where he had just walked from, before realising what he had just said.

"Oh no no no...I wasn't thinking about her...just I spoke to her, and she looked at me like I had shot a cat." He cringed at his own geekiness and put his hand on the back of his head.

"Anyway, yeah I am so sorry for having walked into you Miss. That was incredibly rude of me."

He tried to flash a quick smile.

Josh chuckled, looking at the pretty girl standing in front of him. He liked how she seemed awkward and uncomfortable; the same way he often felt in life, and he smiled a little as she spoke, his eyes fixed on her.

"Oh...umm...no. I can't say I do. That's not to say that I reject older women outright. I've just never, you know, done that before." He shook his head a little at his own awkward demeanour and smiled at her, trying not to laugh. As she made her excuses to leave, he felt a little twinge of disappointment, but almost fell over himself trying to get out of her way.

"Umm yeah..of course, sorry again for being so clumsy," he said as he pulled his shopping cart to the side to let her past. He cursed himself for not speaking as soon as she walked away, and looked back down at his shopping list, sighing. He wanted to peer over his shoulder to see if she was still there, but to him that felt a little creepy.

After much deliberation, Josh pretended to be reading a text message on his phone. Pulling it out of his pocket, he pretended to look confused, as if trying to see someone. He looked right and left, and then shot a quick glance over his shoulder to see the pretty girl still there, just further down the aisle.

Josh looked over his shoulder, and when he saw the girl stood there, he tried to muster up some bravery within himself. He took a deep breath, aware that time was of the essence, and tried to pump himself up with an internal pep talk.

What's the worst that could happen? She might say no? Oh yeah...that would be absolutely freaking horrible!

He abandoned the pep talk, aware that it was doing him more bad than good, and just looked down into his shopping cart, breathing heavily. Being awkward and always overly aware of his own being, Josh realised he had been standing in the exact same place for the last few minutes. If she had looked up, which he was sure she hadn't, she'd have seen some creepy dude who bumps into people and then just refuses to leave the area. He coughed and then decided finally, for the first time in his life, to take the plunge.

"Just go for it man," he said to himself. "You're being a fool." He couldn't help but think that the girl was cute. He had been drawn in by her demeanour, very similar to his own, and he was intrigued. All of a sudden, in a moment of bravery, he turned and walked towards the dark-haired girl again. He smiled as he got close to her, and tried to look as cool as he could.

"Hi Josh," he said. Damn it. Only two words and he managed to say his own damn name. He stood there, feeling embarrassed.

"Sorry..." he started, touching his neck awkwardly. "I wanted to say hi.."

Josh was angry at himself. In his own opinion, he had surely just ruined the chance of this girl wanting to talk to him. All he could think was that he had blurted his own name out like some sort of weirdo, and he was ready to apologise to her for the second time in just a few minutes.

He was shocked however, as he turned back to her, to hear her speak and introduce herself to him as Jade. He looked down as she extended her hand towards him, frozen in shock for a few seconds. He stuck his hand out eventually and shock her hand slowly.

"Hi Jade...it's umm nice to meet you. I just really wanted to say hi you know...after the whole cereal thing. I mean, what sort of guy disturbs a girl reading her cornflakes and then leaves without saying hello right?"

He realised again how idiotic he sounded, and shook his head, chuckling a little. "Sorry. Excuse me...I never really do stuff like this."

He then laughed at her question a little. "I'm guessing you don't either?" He smiled warmly.

Josh moved a little away from the freezer as Jade did. He was beginning to relax a little. After all, it did seem that, for some strange reason, she was still interested in talking to him, in spite of his totally strange and obscure awkwardness. He nodded as she spoke, trying not to stare at her too much. He didn't want to make it obvious, or worse, come across as some sort of pervert.

"Really? Wow. I can't believe no-one would approach you. An avid interest in cornflakes has always been seen as the most desirable thing in a lady." He closed his eyes at that last joke, telling himself to shut up about the cornflakes.

"I'm sorry. I was just kidding," he said, smiling at her. "You gotta forgive me, I'm amazingly nervous and stuff here."

He swept his hand through his hair again. He walked slowly alongside her, pushing his cart. "It is my first time here. I just moved into the country a month ago. How about you? You sound quite...native to these parts.." he chuckled.

Josh chuckles again.

"Yeah...I never liked cornflakes...I much prefer Frosties, but hey, that's just me. Oh my God...what am I like? I should drop the whole embarrassing cereal thing right?"

He laughs and walks alongside her further, smiling at her.

"Wow. Do you still love it here? I mean, I assume you do if you're still here." he fiddled with the trim of his jacket a little, still feeling nervous. Every so often, he's pick something up so it didn't look like he was just following her, and drop it into the cart.

"I actually came here just to produce an album for someone...but then I fell in love with the city and I had to stay." He smiled at her. "I mean...it's cold sure, but I really do love it so far."
