News:
06-07-10
Tour is over. But no worries because we plan to join our favorite band Quarantine on some US dates then we will go on a break. This will be our last tour for a good while because after this tour we Logan and Paul will rejoin Fear for a new E.P., album, and world tour. Paul claims after all that is done his intentions would be focused back on The Waiting Room but we are going to have to wait and see. We also released the last single from Red Sky Season and the single is In The Wool. So be sure to check it out! We still plan to release the huge B-Side album for free to everyone soon! We have tons of music to share with you all and we can't wait to continue making this music. We owe all of you so much love and this is how we are going to do it! We won't start work on a new album until the time is right but we already have ideas on how we want to develop our sound. Enough of me chattering. Keep looking on here for updates and all.

We are now an independent band and will be releasing our music for free! We had a great run with Molotov Records but with it not being able to find a new owner we decided to take the indie route. Because music should be free to the public and shouldn't have to deal with corporate bullshit. I respect the label our band was on and I respect the labels my band Fear were on but I feel as if music should be free no matter what. So we have released a new album[Red Sky Season] and we want to share it with you all! You can download it here! We plan to extend our tour dates beyond to fall so look out for that!

Tour:

Releases:
The Lost & The Waiting Room "We Came To Cause A Scene" Split E.P. - Sold Out!
Certainties - Out Now!
Define Gravity - Out Now!
The Grey Album - Out Now!
Machines - Out Now!
Paradox of Hedonism - Out Now!
Red Sky Season - Out Now!

About Us:
The Waiting Room have now released six successful studio albums. On its new release "Red Sky Season" the band went back to basics of a fast-pace progressive rock record with producer John Smith. Now the sound isn't a downgrade from it's previous album because on this album they really step it up. The album was written during soundcheck while the band were on tour and was heavily influenced by bands of the like of At The Drive-In, and other local post-hardcore bands from New York. The first single "Republica" is the bands most successful single to date and the album is already selling to be it's highest selling album yet. The band plan to tour all summer long and even in the fall. They plan to follow the release with a 4-disc B-Sides album which they have put on hold for months now and have so many B-Sides so they decided to put it out in the best way possible all together at once. Paul Reeves and Logan Spills have grown into some incredible song writers since their days in Fear and they claim this is only the beginning for the band.

The Waiting Room Is:
Paul Reeves - Vocals, Growl, Guitars
Logan Spills - Back Up Vocals, Keyboard
Frank Albern - Drums
Donnavon Rich: Bassist, Back Up Vocals
Will Dawn: Rythm Guitarist, Vocals

TWR appear on No Record Label Needed.

John Smith speaks on the new band.

"So like that demo that leaked out that everyone thought was a new Casting Thin Shadows song was really one of our songs. It was a demo of "The Savior". This new band is by far one of the best things I've done musically. I can't compare it to In The Arms Of Sleep, and I can't compare it to Casting Thin Shadows. This is a whole different approach to music than what I did in those two bands. I look back at In The Arms Of Sleep more as my solo career. I recorded all the instruments and produced all of the albums. I hired a live band to support me and that was it. But now this? I only recorded the lead guitar, vocals, and keyboard. Paul recorded the drums and 2nd lead guitar while Marcy recorded the rythm and bass. Some titles don't have nothing to do with the lyrics in our songs. The song writing process for this was pretty easy and really fun. First we would just get Marcy to do some power chords or something than Paul and I would come in with the lead. After that we would throw in the bass than the drums, after that some keyboard shit and than we would go back and fix it up to full potential if it needed it. I hate comparing my bands to other bands so I'm just gonna say we are loud, and we bring the noise! We have some kick ass melodies and we can't wait for everyone to hear this. We have decided that the first single from the album will be "Hospital Beds". It's awesome ass song. We will also be announcing some dates soon. I'd also like to say Marcy is still working on his debut solo album and Paul is thinking about making one more solo album he isn't sure. As for me? In The Arms Of Sleep will return. I just don't know when, I had a new album planned but than I changed my mind and made this record. But there will be a new one. That double album really put us on the map and I feel like I have recorded some of my best work but I'm challenging myself to make music that tops that. Also some of this album has some electronica sound to it. Like the song titled Porn. It's an interlude in the record, it's not an instrumental piece of muisc it's just a very experimental sounding song. With nothing but a techno sound feel to it. With keyboards, snyths, and drum machines it's awesome. The album closer was going to be an all acoustic song but we decided that we wanted to make a very epic song so we did that instead."

Happy to announce we have signed with Moltov Records! We will be releasing our album and E.P. through them.

We were gonna keep this a secret but we are working on a track with the amazing band The Lost. More info on that soon.

Vote for us with Battle Of The Bands or don't it's your choice.

Also we now have a full band now that will be recording in the studio with us. We're more of a mixture of Casting Thin Shadows and Fear now.

Full Line-Up For Now On!:

John Smith: Vocals, Lead Guitar
Marcy Smith: Vocals, Rythm Guitar
Paul Reeves: Growl, Vocals, 2nd Lead Guitar
Logan Spills(Ex-Fear): Keyboard
Dante Holmes(Ex-Casting Thin Shadows): Bassist
Mark Locus(Ex-Alex Sin): Drummer

We can't say how excited we are with this. Like we've said before, this is NOT a supergroup! We are an entirely new band filled with friends who love to make music.

We hate to do this but it's better to do this then pulling out of our world tour with The Prisoners.

Members John Smith, Marcy Smith, and Dante Holmes will be pulling out of the tour after August 10th due to their original band heading into the studio to finish recording a 14th studio album and doing a farewell tour for their band Casting Thin Shadows. So we will be looking for touring muscians to replace them. They will return to the band though after CTS are done touring but that won't be until April. So it is uncertain if they will be recording with the next album. They will always have a welcome place here though. I will be taking up lead vocals for this tour. I hope you all can understand.

After some talking about this situation we have came to an agreement that members John Smith, Marcy Smith, and Dante Holmes will leave the band to put full attention on their Casting Thin Shadows reunion they have planned for August. We will find touring replacements for their spots. So for now this is still going to continue.

In other news, the album is being mixed right now. It's great to see how this turned out. It's more of alternative meets hardcore type of vibe. It's no Fear, and it's defintly no Casting Thin Shadows, and also no In The Arms Of Sleep. It's great how it has turned out. Sucks that my 3 favorite buddies had to leave though, but I totally understand. I left CTS when Fear was reuniting. A US tour will be announced in a following days.

People who have been wondering if we are going to replace John, Marcy, and Dante we're not. We will have touring members for their spots but other then that this band is now a trio.

Onto how this album will sound. It's post-harcore. Filled with solos, melodies, groovey bass lines, kick you in the face guitar riffs, screaming, soft vocals, hard vocals, emotional, and we all did this having fun. First single will be out in June. This is taking a while because we aren't done mixing the album. More news later on a warm up US tour.

New album has been put on hold for right now. It will be released. Just I don't know when yet. It's done, but I just feel like something is missing and trying to see how I will do this band live now since John, Marcy, and Dante left.

So all we've done is been recording, recording, and recording. Many people are saying all of this is going to be a Fear without Alex Sin. Well, I think you all are wrong. Logan, Mark, and I all are close friends. We are making music we love. I love making hard hitting riffs, with perfect melodies, while they like to make music that sounds a lot different then Fear. We are combining these things together. It isn't going to sound anywhere near Fear did. Fear had a very experimental dark hardcore sound before we broke up. This is more of like a mixture of math-core, alternative rock, post-hardcore, and progressive rock. We are really trying to break new grounds in anything we have ever done.

The album is looking for a July 21st release.

We're looking to be the type of band that one night we could open for Final Heaven or This Comatose to bands like Transferium Project.

Alittle note about Alex Sin. I heard he has disappeared. I know the last time me and him talked we were angry at each other but I hope he is out there somewhere and doing alright. The song (This Is) The Last Call is about him.

Case you forgot here is the FINAL tracklist(I know we have changed this shit over and over) and also we finally picked a title name:
Album Title: Certainties
01. The Blame Game
02. Hospital Beds
03. (This Is) The Last Call
04. Lake Gaston
05. Breathe/Suffercate
06. The Savior
07. Deaf, Blind, and Handicap
08. Porn[Interlude]
09. Stalking Prey
10. Insomnia

Album sounds amazing after listening to it. We'll be pulling out of the September dates due to Fear performing on tour with Smash Up and Fathom. But after that we are hopping right back on tour. Artwork will be up sometime soon and the first single will be "Hospital Beds". It'll be out on July 10th and the album will be out July 21st.
