sharinganerror wrote:forkboy wrote:sharinganerror wrote:Dude, how far west are you thinking? Christianity(Protestant that is) teaches being good for the sake of being good and not being evil. Not neccessarily true. For example, Calvinists believe in pre-determination, in that God has decided who goes to heaven & hell when we're born, essentially we have no say in it, regardless of our actions. It's an interesting philosophical concept at least. And no, we won't stop quoting the Old Testament until Christians stop using it to support barbaric practices such as homophobia & supporting capital punishment while having the audacity to claim that they are "pro-life". Yeah that's calvinism, a denomination of protestantinism, people chose to make up their own little sects just because they didn't want to submit to God's rules and continue their sinning. I'm not one of those idiot wannabe christians who use the Old Testament for "pro-life" purposes. I just plain don't like abortions, gays, and I'm fine with capital punishment, but back to topic. You are so intolerant, it is hilarious. And that's just of other Christians as well. |

Proof, please? The prove has been seen by myself, until you don't give it a shot you wont get proof. Sorry just how it works. But anyways, God loves you, just wanted you to know that.

Yeah, we got that the first eighteen times you said it.
Repetition doesn't make something more real though. |

THIS HAS BLOWN MY MIND! I used to be convinced God, if he even existed which I was sure he didn't but IF I assumed he did, he must have been a real cunt for letting all that suffering and shit happen. BUT HE LOVES ME! So it's OK to be utterly apathetic to human suffering. |

Steph, not trying to insult what you believe, but that's like someone saying they believe in unicorns. You can't prove they exist, but you can't also prove they don't exist. If I say I've seen an unicorn, it's the same thing when you tell me you've seen god. old.gregg wrote:And yes, I have visions of walking on a cloud up to this big heavenly figure and him going "How please I am for you to have arrived, I do love you after all. But I'm fine with that, almost all people I admire are going to hell too :) Edited by user 06 November 2009 06:44:11(UTC)

I actually can't believe in God. People Die
I don't have any beliefs actually, that might seem crazy but i've never believed in anything religously. |

If god loves us how can he let millions of people die of starvation? If he really loved human beings why doesn't he step in? And if you say some have to die why not the bad people? Why is the world run by tossers? |

Why is the world run by tossers? God lets people starve to death so they can get to heaven quicker... The stock argument is "he gave us free will!" although I'm pretty sure nobody chooses to starve to death, or be born with a degenerative disease. Plus, free will is all well and good, except that throughout the Bible, he directly intervenes and meddles with people's lives, both committing and sanctioning genocide. It's more like he got lazy and said "you guys have a problem? Deal with it yourselves. And if they give you any trouble, tell 'em GOD told you to do it." |
